Honduras! Oh what a team, technical, fast and yes, brilliant.
They sank Hungary. Lovely. cracking goal. . .all of them!
South Africa on the other hand could only manage a draw against UAE. (kai, I never even knew they play football there grin)

Oh dear! did you see Uruguay's goal against England? TOP CLASS.

As for The Samba boys. . .hmmmm. They play with such fluidity. Hope y'all watched their clinically executed demolition job against Costa Rica?

Italians are so far the worst team in the tournament. Such a dull team. Forget Tahiti for they at least tried to string some passes together.  wink

Updates:
Brazil 5 - 0 Costa Rica
CZE 2 - 1 Australia
UAE 2 -2 RSA
Honduras 3- 0 Hungary

Siasia made a mistake in the first half by with his selection.
Defense was shaky and this was because the main player (Obiora Nwankwo) commandeering the defense was no defender at all.
Naturally, he is a midfielder and you could see that the moment he switched to his natural role they played better. I assume Siasia decided to play him in the defense in order to accomodate another MF (Haruna Lukman) but his tactics failed. There was simply no link between defense and attack. They were cut off completely.
Lets us hope that it wont repeat itself.

@mukina2- village girl  tongue: Can't you just edit the topic to reflect today's match instead of creating a new thread?

Meanwhile. . .
Siasia charges decimated Flying Eagles

Goalkeeper Dele Ajiboye, midfielders Rabiu Ibrahim and Harmony Ikande as well as defender Mohammed Shagari are all out injured for the Flying Eagles ahead of Monday's decisive group game against Spain while Haruna Lukman is suspended after picking up a red card in the opening game against Venezuela.

But Samson Siasia is not allowing his wards to feel sorry for themselves and has charged them to be more precise in front of goal when they come up against the Spaniards, who comfortably routed Tahiti 3-0 on the same day Nigeria fell 0-1 to the South Americans.

“This is a big tournament and you must learn to take your chances. There is no use creating 50 chances and wasting all of them. You must get to a situation where you can put away five of seven chances," Siasia, himself a former striker, told his players,

“Nigerians back home are expecting us to go far in this competition and even win the trophy. We cannot continue to throw away begging opportunities. Against Spain, we must be up to it right from the first minute and show the seriousness that the match deserves”, Siasia told his boys early Sunday morning.

Afam:
Let us not forget Mugabe because if Zimbabwe had oil reserves like Libya things would have been a lot better considering the type of sanctions the West imposed on the country because there will always be countries ready to buy the crude oil.

Can the West impose such stupid sanctions on countries like Saudi Arabia or even Nigeria?
My guy, you took the words out of me mouth.  cheesy
Surely aint no democraZy in Saudi yet the West cannot do jack. In fact it is very clear that Saudi and the US + d West - dem be padi padi. nonsense.

wt happens when the nations cup starts in jan undecided, thats why we need anelka n others to step up
btw wts up wit sturridge, is he injured
The fixtures during NC ain't that difficult and the key will be to keep winning till then. Nic and the rest of the crew will step up their game once they know that DD is away. It comes naturally. We played without in the CL and guess who scored- yep its Anelka.

Sturridge as I understand is injured.

What can I say? . . .I think something is wrong. Did CA hurt some of the players or was there a party last night?

This is not a case of formation at all, but the guys simply did not show up. I've never seen Chelsea play like this.

Besides, wherever the ref got that red card from?

But anyways, this is football. You win some, you lose some.

Liverpool is next!

Why are they playing long balls now? That is what they should have done the moment they went 1 man down.

Game over.

3-1.

Bad bad bad display but hey, f.uck this is football. You win some, you lose some. No excuses. Chelsea was poor.

Liverpool is next!
