@FBS. .
You are childish when it comes to arguing a point. . . . why has my talking about being at Vicarage road irate you so much? . . . I can't be there? I can't afford to be there or I don't know the way to the place. . ?
These are childish statements. . . . You want me to come here and put pictures or tell the whole world how may matches I have seen Chelsea live or how many times I have been to the bridge. . Get off this and tackle the points. . .
I have the match recorded on my Sky+ and I have watched it over and over again and I fail to see what you mean by RA clapping when Drogba takes a shot and only acknowledging when Anelka does the same. . what kind of talk is that. . ? If RA clapped when Drog took a shot . . fine! . . . but not to be used a contrasting point to only nodding when anelka does the same. . . You alarm me man!
Did the camera show RA everytime a Chelsea player takes a shot? Are you saying you saw a simultaneous view of an Anelka shot and an RA reaction ? Imagine what goes on here! . . . . from your assertion we can conclude that RA did not celebrate the goals because they were scored by Anelka. . . Just listen to this. . .
@nateevs, you people no go kill man with laughter? did you say childish or you were simply hurt by my statement?
You know it doesnt matter to me if you were there or not, the point was did you watch the match and did you see RA's reaction? I noticed because it was shown on TV and because you have also failed to read my posts and on the BBC 606. No one has seen RA that animated lately. I simply told you what I saw but you deduced what you wanted from it. Now tell me, who is childish?
What is childish that he was clapping? He indeed was clapping and the camera man made it a point to show RA's reaction when both strikers (any player for that matter) were going for goal. Now, what is wrong in me saying what I saw in RA's reaction? That is not being childish and neither is it taking sides.
My guy, rexamine your definition of Childish. Stop acting all grown up when you are not. wake up please.
The problem I think is your lack of objectivity.

nateevs:
And you don't need to attack to prove a point! . . . Like Ibime said . . we are waiting for an alibi. . . Only both of you think Drogba has a first good touch. . . Being objective is not saying Drogba is no longer the Drogba we knew. . anyone can say that. Being objective is not saying I idolize Anelka and LFS when I constantly talk about their weaknesses on here. . .
No one is saying Drogba is not a good player but he has a bad first touch. . . Simple!
Read Debo's posts for more information . . .
Read who's post and who says he has a bad touch? you, Ibime? (rofl) grin
did you read the posts on this link?
http://www.prodirectsoccer.com/staticfeature.asp?ART=2257
abi dem tell you those posts were mine? read again and you will see that most people agree that DD has a sick (I hope you know what that means) touch.

Why have you refused to accept the fact that you are wrong instead of resulting to these sorts of tactics? I have proved to you that DD has a wonderful touch, something you have failed to do. Your saying that it is not true does not simply mean it is so.

Even some people on this forum has said that (let me use their word) "sometimes" he does have a brilliant touch and sometimes it's a let down. Now I can agree to that because that sort of shait can happen to any damn player.
I can't understand why anyone in his right mind will say DD has a bad touch. It's beyond my understanding.

We can drag this all day, but there is no point in it because it is impossible to have a constructive argument with you. You simply choose the paragraphs that suits you and ignore those that does not and that, my friend, is being childish.

@Ibime, I take it that you are still a kid. Grow up then we can talk.

Expect no more replies on this subject from me.

Yes, they will be some good ones among them but nobody want to lose his/her life over 20 naira and like someone said, Nigeria is no country for heroes.

For the second time in a week Chelsea scored four without reply and the hero once again was Ivory Coast striker Didier Drogba. On an afternoon when Chelsea ran riot, the towering forward netted another hat-trick to increase his goal tally to 14 for the season and 8 League goals.

Drogba, who wears the Nike Mercurial Vapor III Deep Royal Football Boots, is currently in fine form and this was obvious during the game on Saturday. The opponents Watford held out for 27 minutes when Drogba converted a Geremi cross to open the scoring from close range.

Linking up well with strike partner Andriy Shevchenko Drogba effectively killed the game with a neat one-two to make it 2-0 before returning the favour and allowing Shevchenko to make it 3-0. The overall impressive display was capped after 70 minutes as the Chelsea striker met another Geremi cross to complete the hat-trick and ensure he would be going home with the match ball.
"Drogba iz da best in da world"
Jack
Dan "Drogba is the best striker in the world atm. He has a great first touch and he possesses a phenomenal shot."

LiamDrogba has it! He can score great goals and showed this at the weekened, his movement is perfect and his awareness is something all great players naturally have."

"Drogba is amazing and should be recognized as one of the best. hes huge, tough, has a sick touch, and nasty strikes. he always comes in in the clutch, like when he scored in the 93 minute against barca, clutch!!! ,  but i am a huge man u fan and have to give it up for wayne rooney. for being such a young player and being as good as he is, he has the most potential and i think is the best right now. though hes only 5'9, hes one of the strongest and most physical players in the game. he is insanely creative and has very quick feet. his shots are incredible. unstoppable power and accuracy. have you seen his wonder volley against new castle? people can only dream of scoring a goal like that! he is the best, with didier close behind,  i know this is long, but ive been meaning to get this off my chest for a while and this was my chance 1. wayne rooney 2. didier drogba "
Roost
That is coming from a manu fan.

Now if you go through the link above,  you will see that while some disagree, there are majority of others who agree that DD is a world class striker with a super touch.
Of course, judging by your attitude and inabilty to see reason with others you will say there dont understand football like you do. Let me tell you, you may think you know a thing or 2 about football, but sincerely you dont with the way you are talking so stop blowing your trumphet.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Chelsea Fans: Identify Yourselves Here by FBS: 2:50pm On Feb 17, 2009
Ibime:
^^^Exactly! I do not expect you to 'hate' him. But does he have a good first touch? The answer is simply yes or no.

We are not saying Drogba is rubbish, simply trying to have an subjective debate about DD's first touch. That is divorced from his 'general' all-round ability.

Besides, I thought they said Adebayor is the new Kanu. grin Abi Kanu is not known for his exquisite first touch? grin I actually think Adebayor and Bendtner's first touch is more than alright. Its just that the rest of the Arsenal team have such good first touches that they look clueless in comparison.

I am still waiting for someone to come and tell me DD has a 'good' first touch except for Somze and FBS. I shall be waiting all day. Even Drogba fanatics like Dyabman and Akinalabi have the gumption not to fall into that trap.
It seems you don't understand that every one very much entitiled to their own opinions. That Dyabman, Akinlabi etc agree with you does not make it true.
DD has a good touch and I well damn stand by it.
What problem do you have with that?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Chelsea Fans: Identify Yourselves Here by FBS: 2:35pm On Feb 17, 2009
nateevs:
@FBS.
It's bloody fallacy. . . I repeat. You don't even know if I was at Vicarage road to watch the game. . . You conclude I didn't watch it. Unless you were at the game you can't convince me RA reacted more to DD endeavours than Anelka's . . . expect you are watching a split screen with one camera focused on Nic and Drog and the other focused on RA. . . What kind of talk is that. . . ?
@Nateevs, oh, you were at Vicarage road and I assume you were sitting close to RA to see his reactions? anyways, you said IF, meaning its very possible that you did not even see the game.
Something that was shown several times and even posted on the BBC site about how RA was reacting when DD was on the ball (check my previous posts. . .the links are there). You are here shouting bloody what I dont know.

nateevs:
You are not objective at all. . . .
see pot calling kettle black. tongue You, I'm certain doesnt even know what objectivity means. If there is anyone that is objective on this chelsea thread, that should be me. grin
Deny it all you can, but it is a fact that I am not taking sides with any of the strikers but merely stating my findings. Now, you have the right to take it or leave it. no be fight.

nateevs:
And to prove that you are not objective. . . . My previous posts higlights that Anelka is not my favourite striker and I gave you reasons why? I dare say what Anelka can't do? . . How do you liken that to idolization? . . because I said Anelka is not good in the air? . . That is idolzation? . . . Pls tell me where it is.

You think I worshiped LFS. . . pls go through my posts and figure out how many times I repeated that so far LFS has failed but I believe he should be given more time. . . Incase you don't know I idolize stability . . not LFS! . . . and those who have known me for a while know my favourite Manager of all times is Guus. . . I also reiterated many times on here that LFS is not in my top 10 managers . . . So tell me where idolization comes in!

The problem is not me worship but your lack of objectivity. . . .
My friend, you proved nuffin and please do go through my posts once again: havent I said DD is not the DD we all know and that at times he acts like he doesn't care about the team? how does that equate to idolization?
That he played very well on saturday which, anyone who saw the match (including those who claim they saw the match at Vicarage road wink grin  will agree to. does that also equate to idolization?
That I think he has a good touch does not also equate to idolization or lack of objectivity.
So, where did you get all your worshipping meskafon  grin from?

Personally, I don't bloody care if both strikers are good in the air or not: They should do what they are paid to do and that is to score goals (or at least provide assists and help the team). How they do that (in the air, first touch, hardwork, dribble, speed) is soley their responsibility.

You have a problem with that?

raising and signing of vouchers/cheques every blessed day.
Yes, sometimes, you may take a short trip to the clearing house and have sleepless nights trying to balance the books.

But if it is the financial world that you are interested in, then you don't really have to work in a bank. Join a finance consultancy company. It could be a rollercoaster.

Hope this helps.

And yes, most nigerian policemen have in the past and present refused bribes. You dont need to be an Engel to refuse it, all it takes is someone who thinks with his head. Unfortunately, most people in that place dont. cry

Nigerians should stop complaining about the nigerian police if they cant stop offering bribe to them.

No. That is only your own assumption.

Ibime:
Dayokanu is no 1 Bayern Munich fan. Ask him what he thinks about Luca Toni's first touch.
you must have bloody realised by now that I don't care about Luca or any other player of another team by now. In any case, how is that relevant to this. Is Luca DD?
Ibime:
It is a bastardisation of football to claim DD has a good first touch. We have all played and watched football all our lives, from monkey-post to 11-a-side. Do not try and dribble us like Maradona.

If I make a list of Premiership strikers today, the only strikers Drogba would be competing with in terms of first touch are Anichebe, Kenwyne Jones and maybe Dirk Kuyt - and only Kenwyne Jones is truly on his level. If I make a list of Championship strikers, Drogba would still be in the bottom quartile in terms of first touch.
Oga ooo, na only you dey watch premiership? Look mr man, you can claim to have first class degree in EPL, that doesn't mean shit 'cos by saying that DD's touch is bad, you have just lost it. You have lost your mind. man, you must be blind.

Fallacy of the first order. . . . So according to you Roman likes DD and only acknowledges Anelka! . . . . . God help us!

Who says Drogba is not fantastic player. . . That Berbatov can be annoyingly creepy sometimes doesn't mean he is not fantastic. Anybody who watched football for a considerable amount of time must never Drogba has a good first touch. I can't even believe someone will dare argue this.

His first touch is poor. Where Drogba seems to do great things is when the ball in in the air. . . and everyone who has ever played football knows it's much easier putting the ball on your chest or your thighs . . . Drogba's sheer presence makes the whole thing look more than ordinary. . . when the ball rolls towards him, it pathetic what he can do. . . very painful to watch sometimes.

Stop all these sentiments guys and face the facts. Drogba can score goals when he's in the mood. . . no one argues that. . but to say he's fantastic because he has a good touch is absolute bollocks!
this is becoming very funny. . .fallacy from where? did you watch the match? I am telling you what I saw about RA's reaction. you make your assumptions from there.
RA was more animated when DD was on the ball compared to when Nic is. Now, that is not to say he prefers DD or vice-versa. . .just telling you what I saw. simple. Is that hard to understand?

You guys are the ones bringing sentiments and your "I-sabi-football-pass" mentality. I mean how can anyone in his right mind say DD's touch is bad? well, except you and your "seasoned observers" (kai, laughter no go kill person).

In all my time arguing with Akola, Akola has never opened his mouth to tell me DD has a good first touch, although he is DD no1 fan. He rather tells me the good side of Drogbas game (finishing, strength, workrate, desire), not mindlessly arguing about something thats not there.
Please dont make me laugh? seasoned what? give me a break. . .you have every right to believe DD has a bad touch just like I have the right to believe otherwise. This is no contest.

Ibime:
Nobody says DD is not a fantastic player. Messi is a fantastic player but if I say he is poor in the air, I'm sure Barca fans would not argue, unlike mindless FBS and Somze who INSIST that DD has a good first touch, even after Thierry Henry concedes that DD has a bad first touch.
how many short players do you know that are good in the air? just because you think/believe that he has a bad touch doesn't mean that is the case. I know what I see, simple.

DD WAS a fantastic player, may still be again if he can get his workrate back.

Take Henry's statement:

"Drogba sometimes gets stick for his first touch, but you have to respect him as he runs everywhere."

Minus his fantastic workrate from that statement and what are you left with?

This is why I keep stressing that workrate is essential for DD to be classed as a great player. Without it, he is just rubbish.
how many complete strikers do you know? There is always something missing. I mean its not like I'm arguing with you that Lamps/becks knows how to dribble but that is a far cry from saying that DD's first touch is bad.

Speaking of objectivity, how can we qualify the following statement from FBS:

Anelka (who scored hattrick; who played most of the game on the right-wing, except the last 20 mins) made glaring misses after being set up superbly by DD.  grin grin grin
Drogba (who started upfront) did not make misses. He was simply unlucky that Watford keeper made some saves.  grin
You obviously did not watch the match. DD and Nic were constantly switching position. or Did you not see the sweet pass he made for kalou at the 40 sec from the right flank? but only for kalou to kick the air? In fact any part of his body would have gotten the ball in.
Chelsea have had enough possession and shots on goal. They look up for it. Most of the players - if not all - are really lively. I just think they look slightly unbalanced with Nicolas Anelka and Didier Drogba looking slightly unsure who's taking that central role."
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/7886856.stm
Ibime:
Anyone trying to quantify the above statement would simply conclude that you have a vested interest in deifying Drogba and downplaying the efforts of Kalou and Anelka to boot.
Anyone? that would be you I guess. What my statement meant was, the DD on saturday was a better DD. Simple and short.
If Both Nic and Kalou had scored the goals beautifully laid for them by DD, we could have been 3 goal up in the first half.
In the second half, ashley was at the wrong place and at the wrong time. He blocked a wonderful goal. Even RA was rubbing his thighs.

Can you please remind me of the build up to the second goal? where did it come from?
Open your eyes and stop this your hate on a player. Doesn't do you any good.
1840: Didier Drogba escapes Adrian Mariappa's attentions on the left of the box and gets in a decent effort despite the difficult angle but Scott Loach produces a sharp save.

1827: "Solid half for Chelsea; hit the post once and Kalou messed up two early chances. Overall we do lack a little bit of balance. Ballack and Kalou have been poor on the ball and Anelka looks a bit unsure wide right. Take either Anelka or Kalou off and bring Quaresma on. His quality and teasing crosses should really test the Hornets."

1809: Lovely work from Didier Drogba, juggling the ball on his knee before laying it into Nicolas Anelka's path - but the Frenchman's shot comes off the far post. If he is watching, Luiz Felipe Scolari may well be wondering who this Drogba character is.
1803: Didier Drogba looks like a new man today, making a proper nuisance of himself up front. Roman Abramovich is enjoying it too. As Drogba's shot is saved, the Chelsea owner slaps his thigh and then cracks a rare smile.

Needless to say, until Nic scored those goals, he was as good as absent. Did you see any negative comment about DD? He was a better player on saturday.
Anytime DD is close to scoring, RA is almost on his feet, but when Nic scores, he only gives his boyish grins.

3 goals in 18 games? whaooo, doesn't get better or does it?
