lexy2014: So which is more baseless, "armaco" on one hand or Saudi Arabia/Aramco on d other hand?
If u say "Aramco is State owned not state run", who runs Aramco? Armaco was an auto correct mistake which I acknowledged You never acknowledged your initial error, that says a lot about who you are. This discussion is over |
Politics › Re: Falana: It Is A Shame Dangote Could Build Refinery But FG Couldn't by fedorahat: 10:39am On Mar 16, 2021 |
lexy2014: Interesting. So u didn't initially observe that u wrote "armaco"? But I tried drawing ur attention to ur "armaco" by asking u "what is armaco" even when d "baseless" question asked u didn't say anything about "armaco". So which is more baseless, "armaco" on one hand or Saudi Arabia/Aramco on d other hand? I also don't remember telling u that Aramco is "the biggest company in the world".
Now if u say this:
"This Falana don't have sense Does he not know that government involvement in business kills private interest, Even if they manage to build one, the are not meant to run it but hand it over to private professionals to handle. Government has no business doing business, and refineries are a business not a dividend of democracy."
How come Aramco is one the biggest companies in the world in terms of revenue? Like I said your first two questions were baseless. Your third question was borderline insultive as you didn't care to cross-check your initial questions but went ahead to insist you knew what you asked even when I had requested you check your original question, your fourth question was based on feigning ignorance, I let you know it was an auto correct issues which was a bad oversight from my side. Back to your Question Aramco is State owned not state run. It was once a private entity bought over by the Saudi Government and it has also now been listed as a public entity since it has share holders. It pays tax and remits profit to the Saudi Government has a CEO which qualifies it as a Private entity |

lexy2014: In d second question, was there "armaco"? In d second question, did I ask u who owned "Saudi Arabia"? What exactly is "armaco"? You asked who owns Saudi Arabia I replied nobody You asked how come it is the biggest company in the world I replied check the initial question you asked me. You replied with you know the initial question you asked stating how come Aramco is the biggest company in the world, Autocorrect changed the Aramco to amarco, I didn't initially observe that. So what really is the issue because your first two questions to me were baseless. |

Faller: With Dangote's involvement in the oil sector...The playing field isn't totally level.....
If you scrutinize this issue properly.... You'll find that after the Judiciary... executive and legislature..... Dangote is the fourth arm of the government.
I'm not saying this is bad....He has provided a lot of employment to Nigerians... something the government still struggles with.....But there's also a cost.....
It's like he's telling the Government I'll employ your citizens if you put me a step ahead of others when it comes the business affairs of the Nation..
And this isn't fair to other investors also....I stand to be corrected...but I feel this is an indirect way through which the Government involves itself...and it doesn't create a levelled playing field Dangote is a private entity and has every right to be involved in any business venture. Anybody that is not happy about it should go and build his own network. We are in a capitalist society, and it's a winner take all situation. The problem in Nigeria is we don't like forming mergers. You are only as big as your current circle of people around you. |

Faller: Calm down...let them build one first...
it's better than doing nothing....
don't you think by so doing it will provide employment opportunities for the citizens..... When government gets involved in business it drives potential investors away as it does not level the playing ground, they can enter partnerships fund PPP amongst other things. The only time government should undertake a project is if there is no willing investor and it is a must have, even at that it should not be managed by them. As far as am concerned we have a lot of willing investors in the Nigerian oil industry. |

dederocs: They are better ways to run subsidy, rejecting subsidy, will only leave more money for politicians to pocket. You like buying fuel expensively. think b4 you talk... Bros Subsidy is the easiest way to steal money, most money being stolen can be tracked this days or investigated if a new government comes in. With subsidy no way, subsidy is not about the price the claim the are paying, it is about the fuel snuggling cartel, that carries subsidized fuel across the border to sell at a higher rate. Only the rich benefit |
Politics › Re: NNPC: Government Will Consult Widely Before Petrol Subsidy Removal by fedorahat: 6:07am On Mar 16, 2021 |
Abeg remove it sharp sharp it benefits the rich more
Two things affect petrol price, international price of crude and current dollar price, it is unfortunate that this government cannot have the courage and hands of fuel importation once and for all , leave business for business men let market forces determine price. As far as FG keeps importing fuel, refineries will find it difficult to work, because no incentives when it is cheaper to import. |
