EntertainmentIron Man Signs Another Two Years Contract To Be Iron Man On Avengers by fedrick901(op):
https://cbm.blsassets.com/images/articles/81924.pngStow those fears of a Robert Downey free Avengers sequel. The Iron Man actor has signed a new 2-picture agreement to appear as Tony Stark in The Avengers 2 and The Avengers 3.
Regardless of whether you loved or loathed "Iron Man 3" the prospect of a sequel to "The Avengers" devoid of Robert Downey Jr. was a dreary prospect no one wanted to face. Well good news Marvel faithful, the actor has signed a new 2-picture agreement to appear in "The Avengers 2" AND "The Avengers 3." There's no mention of an "Iron Man 4" in the contract so as the actor previously hinted, it's probably safe to assume that there won't be any solo outings for the 'Armored Avenger' anytime soon. You can read the official press release from Marvel.com below. The news from Marvel also hints at more such announcements to come in the next few days, weeks and months. Of course, expect the Hollywood trades to start digging for scoops to beat Marvel to the punch. The countdown to San Diego Comic-Con has officially begun!

“I am Iron Man.”

Tony Stark’s famous closing line to the very first Iron Man film takes on new life today as Marvel is pleased to announce the signing of Robert Downey, Jr. to reprise the role of the “billionaire, genius, playboy, philanthropist.”

Under the two-picture agreement, Downey will star as Tony Stark/Iron Man in “Marvel’s The Avengers 2” and “Marvel’s The Avengers 3.” Downey is represented at CAA by Bryan Lourd, Jim Toth and Matt Leaf and by his attorneys Tom Hansen and Stewart Brookman of the firm Hansen Jacobson.

Downey, Jr.’s last two Marvel films, 2012’s “Marvel’s The Avengers” and this year’s “Iron Man 3,” rank as two of the top five grossing films of all time, collectively earning over $2.7 billion worldwide to date.

“Marvel’s The Avengers 2” is being written and directed by Joss Whedon. Featuring favorites from the first Avengers film and new Marvel characters never before seen on the big screen, “Marvel’s The Avengers 2” is slated to begin production in March 2014 and open in theaters May 1, 2015.

…as prominent Nigerians pay tribute
Last Saturday came like any other day, but alas, in the evening of the same day, the cold hands of death snatched away a prominent Nigerian, the President-General, Association of Nigerian Market Women and Men, Alhaja Abibat Mogaji, mother of the former Lagos State Governor and National leader of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The event occured at her residence, No 10 Sunday Adigun Street, Alausa, Ikeja.

She died at the ripe age of 96 and was later buried on Sunday, at the Vaults and Garden Cemetery, Ikoyi, according to Islamic rites.

The burial witnessed the crème de la crème of the society who thronged the Lagos Island Central Mosque, Vault and Garden Cemetery and the LTV ground, Ikeja, venue of the reception where she was described as icon of achievements.

Mogaji in her life time was a frontline leader of Lagos State Market Women Association who dedicated larger part of her adult life to protecting the rights of market men and women.

source:http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=555825674460828&set=a.327867847256613.72404.325226460854085&type=1&theater

She earned their respect, having succeeded in mobilising them for greatness and innovation, and giving every market person a brand to associate with.

The highly revered leader threw her great weight into the battle to have a saner market place, where the rights of the market people are not trampled upon, and at the same time not in conflict with the rules of the state.

Under the able and strict leadership of Alhaja Mogaji, Thursday of every week was made compulsory sanitation day for market men and women.

Her campaign to the market places to enlighten the market folks on governmental policies like census, voting, immunization and other economically beneficial programmes of the government spurred the Lagos state government to make her chairman of the Lagos Market Board.

She was honoured with no fewer than 10 different titles by traditional rulers and interest groups across the nation.

Such titles include: President General, Association of Nigerian Market Women and Men; Iya Adinni of Yaya Abatan Central Mosque, Ogba-Agege; Yeye Oba of Ikirun Land; Yeye Oba of Kweme Kingdom, Badagry; Yeye Oba of Osolu Kingdom; Yeye Oba of Lagos to mention but a few.
https://dvsl3w2q45hb8.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/Mogaji-tinubu-1.jpg
She also won several honours and awards from organisations such as Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA; National Council of Women Societies; Eko Award 1991; National Youth Organisation and Law Ladies Forum, University of Lagos amongst others. Due to her humanitarian services, she was bestowed with matronship of many organisations like Nigeria Red Cross, Nigeria Youth Organisation, National Union of Lagos Students, Nigerian Society for the Handicapped, and Egbe Omo Eko.

When Saturday Vanguard got to her residence, a family member, who was around when the market leader died narrated her last moment .

“Mama never showed any sign of death lately although in the past, we have had cause to panic after repeated bolts of sicknesses due to old age. But this time around, Mama was hale and hearty till her last moment.

“We woke up that day and she was in her room relaxing. She had her breakfast, an oatmeal and went back to sleep. In the afternoon, after she observed the noon prayer, she called for her lunch. She ate tuwo, a local meal popular with Kwara state indigenes. Not quite long after, between 4 and 5 pm, she called for me as I entered, she just shouted, Allahau Akbar three times and after that, she kept silent and that was it. She never woke up again. We started calling families, friends and other people to tell them what happened.

“I was so shocked, because I have never seen such a peaceful passing away of anybody like that. I thank God that Mama lived a fulfilled life worthy of emulation.”

The Janaza (Muslim prayer for the dead) was conducted last Sunday at the Central Mosque, Lagos Island, where well-wishers and friends had the final glimpse of the corpse before the body was moved for internment. The corpse, was brought into the Mosque at 11:24am during which a short sermon was delivered.

Alhaji Muritala Giwa, who delivered the sermon, urged Asiwaju Tinubu, the son of the deceased, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, Governors and the crowd at the Mosque to always eschew violence and exhibit good attitude in life.

Giwa said “as the late Iyaloja General of Lagos impacted positively on the lives of people, everyone should emulate such act.”

Meanwhile, eminent Nigerians have continued to eulogise the late nonagenarian. Leading personalities in the condolence messages to Tinubu was President Goodluck Jonathan who noted that, Mogaji would be remembered across the country for defending the interests of the poor.

The President in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, stated the late market leader lived a fulfilled life.

Abati said, “President Goodluck Jonathan commiserates with Bola Tinubu and his family. President Jonathan believes that the highly respected market leader will be long remembered across the country for her indefatigable championship of the cause of market women and men.”

Also in his tribute, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Honourable Aminu Tambuwal described her as a great woman and a great mobiliser of women and an advocate of people’s right.

”Her socio-economic contribution to the nation will definitely be missed. She has left a vacuum in the nation. She was a special gift to this country. “

The bereaved, Tinubu, who was sharing pleasantries with guests and clad in white traditional attire, described her mother as a good leader and compassionate person.

“I am very happy that she was my mother. She was a very successful mother and a good leader. She did not put anyone in suffering before she departed from this world. She was so kind and God was also kind to her. She was a good thinker, passionate and compassionate. She reminded me of the defect in the society. She left a very good legacy for everyone.

”On Saturday afternoon, she had her lunch. After that, she used her drugs and rested. While resting, death came and snatched my mother away. She taught everyone she came across contentment, love and the act of sharing especially to the needy. She was the one who asked me to look at the face of three women who had a challenge of paying their children’s West African Examination Council, WAEC, fee . It is not the amount of money I pulled out of my pocket but as a governor then, I began the policy of paying WAEC fees of pupils in Lagos state public schools. Those are the things that will fascinate anyone about my late mother.

“Well, immediately she died, I felt her void. One cannot but look at his mother being buried. There are many lessons that women can learn from her. And one of the lessons is that they should learn to be resilient, committed and industrious in order to help banish poverty in the country. She was a committed democrat. She believed in one man, one vote campaign. She would vote and mobilise others to do so.

In his tribute, Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos state, in a statement through his Special Adviser on Media, Hakeem Bello, described her death as a great national and personal loss.

Fashola said the mother of his illustrious predecessor in office, Tinubu, throughout her life time was a forthright defender of the people and fought for their right for economic empowerment, adding that this trait has been imbibed by everyone, who has had the opportunity or privilege to fall within the ambit of her influence.

According to him, this peculiar trait is evident in the personality of her illustrious son and former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a leader with the love of the people at heart.”

He said:”Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji was a frontliner in the commercial development of Lagos State, particularly Lagos Island, which was formerly dominated by the Lebanese and Greek Merchants.

“She was one of the pioneer traders who ventured into the capital intensive and risky business venture of importation of consumer goods, thereby breaking the monopoly previously enjoyed by the foreign tradesmen and her business acumen attracted the attention of Multi-National Enterprises operating in Nigeria then, who had no option but to register her as a business partner and distributor of their consumer goods in Nigeria.”

Governor Aregbesola of Osun State in his tribute said “she was a good Muslim. A good mobiliser and a very good organiser. She was a leader and mobiliser of women. A philanthropist, charitable and compassionate mother. She mentored us so much.”

Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State has commiserated with the national Leader of the Action Congress of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, on the death of his mother, Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji.

In a condolence message signed by Mr Peter Okhiria, his Chief Press Secretary, Comrade Oshiomhole said “I commiserate with you, my leader, and indeed with the entire Tinubu family, on the passing of your beloved mother, Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji. I wish to offer the condolence of the people and government of Edo State and my personal commiseration over this loss.

Science/Technology(PHOTO) Old But Untold Story Of Indian Girl Who Had Been Frozen For 500 Years. by fedrick901(op):
https://cdn.informationnigeria.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/inca-girl-817x1024.jpg

Well initially this might look to you like any normal girl being treated by a doctor, the girl in the photo is not any normal living girl but the mummy of a 15 year old child who has been dead for about 500 years.

https://m.facebook.com/325226460854085/timeline/story?ut=69&hash=-5420096513145428029&wstart=0&wend=1372661999&ustart&refid=17

She was found in 1999 near Llullaillaco’s 6739 meter summit. An Argentine-Peruvian expedition found the perfectly preserved body and she was nicknamed “La doncella” which means “The maiden”. According to the Inca she was chosen to go and live with the gods. But in reality she was a sacrifice to the Inca Gods and had been brutally killed in the name of religion.

Scientists say that her organs are intact and its as if she had died just a few weeks ago. From testing the samples of her hair they could determine the type of diet she was on before her death. This lead to the discovery that the Incan fattened their children before killing them. Months or even years before the sacrifice pilgrimage these children were given diets which were those of the elite, consisting of maize and animal proteins.

Judging from the condition of the body, it is believed that she was drugged and left to die in the mountains. It would not have taken much time for her to die due to the high exposure. The Incan high priests took their victims to high mountaintops for sacrifice. As the journey was extremely long and arduous, especially so for the younger victims, coca leaves were fed to them to aid them in their breathing so as to allow them to reach the burial site alive. Upon reaching the burial site, the children were given an intoxicating drink to minimize pain, fear, and resistance, then killed them either by strangulation, a blow to their head or by leaving them to lose consciousness in the extreme cold and die of exposure.

https://facebook.com/325226460854085/timeline/story?ut=69&hash=-5420096513145428029&wstart=0&wend=1372661999&ustart&refid=17

Many Inca children were offered as sacrifice during or after important events, such as the death of the Sapa Inca(who was the emperor) or during a famine. These sacrifices were known as capacocha.

Why Only Children?

Children were selected for sacrifice because they were considered to be the purest of beings. They were chosen for their beauty and possibly nobility. According to Inca beliefs such children were to serve as guardians to their villages from the heights of the mountains joining their ancestors and honoured in death. The children wore shoes or slippers and dressed in colourful clothing elaborately decorated with medal, bone and cords. More than 100 precious ornaments were found to be buried with these children in the burial site. They were loosely wrapped in shawls and were seated cross legged as they would have fallen asleep after being drugged.

https://facebook.com/325226460854085/timeline/story?ut=69&hash=-5420096513145428029&wstart=0&wend=1372661999&ustart&refid=17

Early colonial Spanish missionaries wrote about this practice but only recently have archaeologists such as Johan Reinhard begun to find the bodies of these victims on Andean mountaintops, naturally mummified due to the freezing temperatures and dry windy mountain air.

There are also some more information about Inca mummies on wikipedia.

In 1995, the body of an almost entirely frozen young Inca girl, later named Mummy Juanita, was discovered on Mount Ampato. Two more ice-preserved mummies, one girl and one boy, were discovered nearby a short while later. All showed signs of death by a blow to the head.

In 1999, near Llullaillaco’s 6739 meter summit, an Argentine-Peruvian expedition found the perfectly preserved bodies of three Inca children, sacrificed approximately 500 years earlier, including a 15-year-old girl, nicknamed “La doncella” (The maiden), a seven-year-old boy, and a six-year-old girl, nicknamed “La niña del rayo” (The lightning girl). The latter’s nickname reflects the fact that sometime in the 500 year period the mummy spent on the summit, it was struck by lightning, partially burning the preserved body and some of the ceremonial artifacts left with the mummies.

Chipo Sibanda reportedly learnt the hard way in the early hours of 29 April when she visited the toilet but could not urinate upon discovering that her vagina had mysteriously sealed.

The woman is said to have nearly collapsed when she noticed that her ‘most sweetness spot’ had mysteriously sealed. However, a ZImbabwean online publication says it has learnt that Chipo was in the habit of sleeping with married men – a claim which was confirmed by the alleged hubby-snatcher. It is reported that Chipo approached one of the women whose husband had allegedly ‘strayed’ to Chipo’s ‘honey jar’.

A source who stays in Bulawayo’s Matshobana suburb where there incident reportedly took place, said a woman popularly known as Mai Tawanda had previously warned Chipo to stay away from her husband. The source said after the spine-chilling incident, the ‘vaginaless’
woman approached Mai Tawanda and begged for forgiveness.

“She didn’t have a choice in this case but to approach Mai Tawanda and apologise. No one remains calm upon realising that her sexual organ is missing. If she had not approached Mai Tawanda we could be talking about something else,” said a source close to Chipo.

It is reported that Mai Tawanda first thrashed Chipo but much to the surprise of everyone, the bashed woman did not cry. The alleged husband-snatcher was saved by Mai Tawanda’s sister who had been summoned to hear the confession.

“She was set free 3 hours after the beating. She made a promise to Mai Tawanda that she would never see her husband or even come near him. That is when she was told to go to the toilet and check if her organ was back,” she said.

After several attempts to get hold of Chipo, our news crew eventually managed to hook up with the woman who openly revealed that she had learnt a big lesson.

“I am sorry to all women I have wronged. It wasn’t my intention to break their marriages. It (the disappearance of her organ) was so scary and the thought that I couldn’t piss was frightening. I could feel that my bladder was full but I couldn’t do anything,” she said.

Efforts to get a comment from the much dreaded Mai Tawanda proved futile by the time of going to press.

Foreign AffairsNELSON Mandela,in Hospital As South Africans Pray by fedrick901(op): 10:06pm On Jun 10, 2013
Darkness falling into South Africa
PLEASE DONT IGNORE THIS
Officials have provided no update since Saturday
when his condition was described as serious but
stable.
However, 9aijahouse spokman Karen Allen in Pretoria says
relatives who visited him on Sunday appeared in
positive mood.
Mr Mandela, 94, was admitted to a Pretoria
hospital early on Saturday.
The presidency said he had been ill for some
days.
It is the third time this year he has been admitted
to hospital.
Hundreds of worshippers attended Mass on
Sunday at Soweto's Regina Mundi church, famous
for its role in the anti-apartheid campaign.
"I think it's just a natural experience that
everybody wants to hold on to him as much as
possible," acting priest Father Sebastian Rossouw
said.
"He's always in our prayers."
Our correspondent says there is a sense of calm
across South Africa, and also a quiet hope that
the man who led the fight against apartheid may
regain his strength once again.
While the absence of any official updates did little
to help the speculation, she adds, many took
heart from a visit by Mr Mandela's daughter,
Zindzi, who said that her father was "well" and "a
fighter".
Mr Mandela's wife, Graca Machel, cancelled a
scheduled appearance in London on Saturday to
remain at her husband's bedside.
The South African broadcaster SABC
reported that a car which brought another
daughter, Makiziwe, to the hospital on Saturday
was seen again on Sunday.
On Saturday, presidency spokesman Mac Maharaj
said that although Mr Mandela was again
suffering from pneumonia, he was breathing on
his own - "a positive sign".
South African President Jacob Zuma has
continued to attend engagements but has
indicated that he will visit Mr Mandela if doctors
advise him to do so.
Nelson Mandela served as president from 1994 to
1999.
He was previously imprisoned for 27 years, and is
believed to have suffered damaged lungs while
working in a prison quarry.
He contracted tuberculosis in the 1980s while
being held in jail on the windswept Robben
Island.
He retired from public life in 2004 and has been
rarely seen in public since.
Mr Mandela was receiving care at his
Johannesburg home when his lung problems
flared up again.
He was admitted to hospital after his condition
worsened at 01:30 on Saturday (23:30 GMT
Friday).
British Prime Minister David Cameron has said
Mr Mandela is in his thoughts, while the
White House has also sent good wishes.

When asked to mention the most expensive fashion item he has in a recent Punch interview, D'banj said he has a $50, 000 (N7.9m) FM wrist watch and has another watch that Jay Z also owns.
"I’m always wearing expensive things; like now, I have two watches on my wrist. I’m putting on a Franck Muller, master of complication. It goes for at least $50,000. The other is a big face, the same one Jay-Z is rocking."
Asked to describe his fashion style, D'banj said:
I don’t know. I just dress how I want to be addressed. Sometimes, I want to look like a biker, sometimes I want to look like a billionaire. I wanted to get myself a power bike until I started making it. I had to decide against it because if I get injured, I would not be able to perform. Right now, I can only ride through video games

Here's something Oge Okoye's PR people released a few days ago...
Do you want to kill all our celebs with your bullying? I thought you had learnt after Goldie. Celebrities are human and have feelings. In her attempt to re-brand herself, you bullied Oge Okoye and made her hypertensive. “She’s an mgbeke”…she’s this…she’s that…” you kept firing! While you were busy bullying her for nothing, more talent scouts were noticing her.

You were too busy putting her down to even notice the beautiful concepts, only few with the trained eye and who genuinely understand art, left meaningful comments. Look at all the magazines she has covered, yet instead of encouraging her, you bully her even more.

Her first big screen movie with Hollywood stars was just premièred in Lagos and instead of congratulating her, you continued abusing her when you saw photos, with some abusing her dress even though she looked hot. Oge is an only child, please don’t kill her for mother.”

If you're a celebrity, the best thing would be to develop a thick skin...and not let comments get to you to because whether you like it or not, want it or not, people will always have an opinion about you. And whether you want to hear it or not, they will say it, in this case, write it - on blogs, Twitter, FB, Instagram. I'm sure you celebrities have 99 problems, don't make comments one of it.

Meanwhile, cyber bullying had nothing to do with Goldie's death. I remember speaking with her about it and she dusted it aside, laughing. She said people will always talk and she tries not to pay attention to all the talk and just live her life. In fact a week or so before she died she sent me her Grammy photos to put on my blog...if she was afraid of comments, I don't think she would do that.
