One of the best for me is Futhead.com [/quote We then need home grown world class coaches who have coached in Europe before. Sunday Oliseh is like that and that Nigerian coach that set a record in Europe (Ndubuisi Egbo). They are Africans with knowledge of modern tactics in football. Africans have talent. The problem is coaching and administration. So we need a new generation of African coaches who have coached and played in Europe and good administration |

komekn: For once, i agree with you Komekn. There is a serious problem our football authorities have to address. I think some solutions are coming up like the Private Investors league for Privately owned clubs. It will be televised and well run. It is an alternate league and our young players can develop there before they go to Europe. I believe the coaching and development will be better in this alternate league. IT IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. Also, the MRI age cheating machine is making matters better |

timay: You have a point. At youth level it will be hard for foreign born players because we really have talented players that do well at that level and so the need for reinforcements is not that strong. The problem is these boys fade away at the senior level and do a Rabiu Ibrahim for us and then the foreign born have a chance. The 2007 u17 was a total waste of talent and next to that is the 2013 u17. Only a few of them (maybe 5) are still relevant. I wonder why our youth players are not impressive at a senior level. It bothers me a lot 1 Like |

HOW BARCELONA IS CHANGING NIGERIAN FOOTBALL The barcelona Academy in Lagos, Nigeria will produce world beaters in the next five years. They are DEAD SERIOUS ABOUT IT. Here is a 2018 interview with the founder. Some of the kids are allready going for tournaments abroad. https://punchng.com/barca-has-right-of-first-refusal-over-bescola-players-oghomienor/ Excerpts from the interview Recently, you took 60 Nigerian kids to Barcelona. What was the reason for the trip? It’s part of our objectives in SUD Bescola, to develop young children; it’s about our youth development programme and grassroots empowerment. We’ve picked children from different less-privilege areas; we went on a road show and trials to places like Okokomaiko, Ajegunle. We did a selection process and we picked some of these children and we brought them to the school. Part of the development besides them (kids) playing friendly matches and trainings in the school is to attend games abroad so that it can help them develop more as professional footballers in the nearest future This is what is said about African players in the interview First of all, our players have something that is unique as Africans. We have the physique, we are athletic. Barcelona’s players are not so athletic. If you look at Sergio Busquets, Lionel Messi and Andre Iniesta, they are not very strong. Barcelona believe that if they combine our athleticism and their style of play, then they are turbo-charged. The reason why they play their style is because most of the children they have from there are not as physically strong, so they adopted a play. It gives them more options when they have African players that can play a different style like the 4-4-2 or a counter attack. Barcelona don’t play counter attack, they still play much of the ball at the back. And if you look at other clubs like Real Madrid, they have stronger players that can run very fast. Barcelona don’t do that. |

TheSuperNerd: The best thing he did was to end his loan deal with Arsenal and go to a club where he will be permanently signed. He even chose a club that will give him game time. However, from what i saw today, he must try and contribute to attacking play. Defense splitting passes, dribbling runs, etc. Maybe it was because they were playing a better team and they did not have ball possession. But i hope things will improve with time |

Why are they not playing Akinkunmi Amoo in Hamarby despite all the promises they made to him. This is sheer wickedness. Europe doesnt allways help our players but we have not choice. They are supposed to develop him to be like messi (a false 9) or is it that they don't care about one poor boy from Africa The players ahead of him are not better than him. I see it as discrimination. What exactly is it? The young man should ask for a loan if they dont play him by January. We cant develop him here anyway because of the poor state of our league 1 Like |

forgiveness: Men Football started in England BUT IT WAS NOT PERFECTED IN ENGLAND. Going down history, Other countries have perfected the beautiful game. The Brazil world cup team of 1970 is one of the greatest international teams ever. ALL THE INNOVATIONS OF FOOTBALL ARE NOT FROM ENGLAND. Read football history and you will know. Italy taught the world how to defend. Brazil taught the world how to attack. Holland came with total football. Spain tiki-taka. Germany with their German Machine. England is good but other countries have developed football systems they are now copying. I have said this before 1 Like |

Peter Olawale (little Ronaldo) one of our u-17 2019 set has been featured on goal.com's next gen. That is something serious as a lot of well-rated players like Salzburg's Karim Adeyemi have been featured in it. Is this boy that good? Is he Nigeria's version of Ronaldo or he is just another Chrisantus Macaulay (wasted talent) only time will tell |

charlesemeka85: Yes now. The Nigerian league at least product decent players. Alhassan Muazum Ibrahim is in cd nacional a product of the Nigerian league and even Ighalo who used to play for Julius Berger. I mean India does not know much about football. Cricket is their main forte. The Nigerian league is better than some nonsense league some of our boys run to. Its just that the quality has reduced but at least there are some good players there. I will take a player from the Nigerian league before some obscure leagues like India or Pakistani league. Maybe there may be more money there but mean it is wack |

einsteine: Erica and other porn stars will now be a role model for youths. They have done nothing but engage in sex. It is pure ridiculous. They are not encouraging any positive value whatsoever. the moral fabric of our society is falling apart and we need something that will repair it. At least promote something sensible There is a way that a reality show for inventors can be interesting. It can show their lifestyle, behavour etc and even their struggles and dramatize it. If it works people will give money to someone who has invented something that can solve the problem of electricity and then, Government will be forced to pay attention to technology. Entertainment should be a tool of positive social change. They are rewarding pure idiocy. With this show, prostitutes will not be ashamed of their actions. After all, there is a show that glorifies it. It is pure madness. 4 Likes |

JidennaJason: A lot of young people will see this and will want to go into immorality and pornography. They are rewarding irresponsible behavior. How about a reality show for Inventors. There are many inventors in Nigeria and Nigeria needs to develop in Science and Technology. Why not reward people for inventing things 399 Likes 22 Shares |
Scotland that would struggle against average African teams[/quote You are right. Scotland cannot defeat Nigeria, Cameroon, Ghana, Senegal or the tactical North Africans. In fact, Mali will cause them problems. Ok name one scottish player better than Victor Osimhen or even Henry Onyekuru not to talk of Sadio Mane or some local African player who is simply not exposed. Scotland is a very average team |

GoddyOra: Generally, Africans find it difficult to plan for the future. We do not have a 10 year plan to develop anything (be it education, sports, economy etc). We Nigerians/Africans are living by our instinct. I think the vision of a black man does not go beyond 6 months. Anything a black man does does not stand the test of time. This is why we think age cheating can solve our problems but it is only shallow. Black people can be very shallow minded. Fifa had to invent a machine for us to stop age cheating. We don't have a sense of purpose. Most of these Western nations can just decide that there football will improve in 20 years and they will start working towards it systematically. England has been working on making their players more technical for 15 years and they now have phil foden, Jadon Sancho etc. This instantaneous attitude is the black man's undoing. The Western countries know where they will be 10 years from now. Also, a black man's capacity to conceive greatness is limited. Right now, a lot of people find it difficult to beleive we can win the world cup because we are son satisfied with averagenes. We have started changing though 1 Like |

Olakunle Olusegun (u-17 2019 set) just scored three goals for fremad (his new club) today. The boy is on fire. I think this new set of u-17 boys will be the most successful at a senior level. I believe the days where players from our youth teams don't succeed in Europe are gone. They are now learning how to navigate the waters of European football 2 Likes |

komekn: You are not exactly right. The GBS academy in Jos has produced Samuel Kalu, Moses Simon, Hillary Gong, Ahmed Musa and some other decent players. Akinkunmi amoo is also from a football academy. In fact, a lot of our decent players are from Football academies and so you cannot claim they are horrible as they are producing good players Secondly, Terem Mofi and Blessing Eleke moved from obscure leagues to Belgium and so starting in a low league at a young age is good. Lukman Zakari moved from Latvia to Spain. You are an extremist young man. If you look at things properly, grassroots football is really growing in Nigeria. I rest my case |

Neobulletzz: He could control the midfield better. Lampard cannot control the midfield like iniesta. Iniesta was a conductor and when he was in midfield, the leg of the opposing team CANNOT touch the ball. It happened whenever Barcelona faced Chelsea. Lampard will be lost and iniesta together with xavi will simply control the midfield. this is a very important aspect of central midfield play. Besides, he was more skilful. Lampard we all know is NOT too skillful |

Arabiandude: The issue with Rabiu Ibrahim is that he never really settled down in a club until he was 26 or 27 and when he did it was in an obscure league like Slovakia. I mean he only settled down 3 years ago. I dont know why clubs kept rejecting him when he was young. I am not too sure he can move to a better league now that he is performing well as age is not on his side. In my opinion he can still be useful in the national team as we still need his play making skills but i know a lot of people here wont agree with me. He needs a better league but he is around 30 and that will affect his marketibility to clubs |
