There simply is NO EXCUSE for this when the "SERVANTS" of the people earn so much more than their "MASTERS," abi?

The funny aspect of this all is that at least now many more Nigerian citizens are finally focusing on this particular issue - but some change will happen if and only if the protest continues, otherwise it will peter out, with everybody HOPING that they will join the gravy train. But more serious than these CURRENT pays are three issues of these and other civil servants in the country: - very low tax rates, even of PAYE (nobody likes paying taxes, but taxes - and reasonable taxes - like death, are inevitable); - high severance pays (gratuities); - pension pays that are either not commensurate with worker contributions or do not have existing worker contributions, and that RISE with the pay of EXISTING workers in the same POSITION. I have had occasion to write about all of this as far back as 2002, providing several comparisons in various sectors of Nigeria's workforce! We shall see, Bolaji Aluko
