some people mentioned that they paid part of the bills and when they returned for childbirth they showed the immigration officers that they had come earlier for vacation and they had paid partly.[/

You might need to show them your doctors appointment letter, you might also need to show them receipt of payment if you paid in advance or a document showing a break down of your expected bill issued by your doctor or hospital or both, cash in hand as evidence that you can pay for the bill and lastly evidence of accomodation.
It should also be mentioned here that people have entered the us for birthing purpose without being asked for any document, but that being said,it is better to be prepared.
@chloe7 and @babatwi, thanks so much for your response.
Initially I planned paying for doctors fee, but my husband feels i should just return and declear cash @ the port of entry and also cos the exchange rate now is too high now(when I left naija for uk it was $1-N170, getting to us it's now $1-N186) considering he has to send the money to me. @ the hospital I was told I can't register or pay now cos my due date is stil in April that I should allow 2 months b4 delivery date.
As for accommodation, my appointment letter was addressed to a family 's address in the us.
Thanks again guys.

do you mean future port of entries because since you are in the u.s already you have entered and where you were stamped in is your entry port, and for the future you go with your payment receipts and any other evidence of payments to show you have a zero balance and you didn't owe.
I got the visa some days b4 I found out I was pregnant, purpose of travel then was vacation. So am in the us for vacation and to find a doc and hospital for birthing. Am leaving next week and ll return in February by Gods grace. I just booked an appointment @the doctors office yesterday, So just wanted to be sure if the appointment letter from the doctors office is all I need to get from the doctor. Thanks

They might also ask for evidence of accomodation and why do you want to come to US to have baby.
Thanks for your response, am actually in the us @ the moment, booked my appointment @ the doctors office and was given a letter show the date of appointment, was just wondering if there is any other document I need to get from the doctor to show @ the port of entry.

At the port of entry, can I just present my doctors appointment letter and cash? Or is there any other document that I might need if am being questioned by immigration,

Lol BA is like the worst airline that comes to naija. Tiny leg room, tasteless food and rude hostesses. Not to mention the 100 hrs layover in London. I wonder why Nigerians hype BA
I seriously agree with you,ba is a glorified Molue, I flew it for the first time 3wks ago on landing I called my hubby, and told him how horrible the flight was, no leg room, and food was horrible, i had to stay a few days in London b4 connecting to Baltimore,I wonder the hype about the airline, it ll definitely be my last.

gmn house, we got our visa in June. I was asked if I was pregnant and my ans was no cos I wasn't then. We travelled in July and returned in august (for 10days) I found out I was pregnant when we returned. I'm planning to use the visa to travel next yr to have our baby . my fear now is, I had eclampsia after the birth of my son and my doc in Nigeria is advising early cs so as to avoid recurrence which could mean I will be travelling late January or early February . which means my baby may come earlier from his opinion. will this make it look like I was lying at the interview?

Please is there any April mama heading toward alabama?

you are all wonderful ppl!

Hello people, been following this forum for a very long time however this is my first time commenting.
Just want to share my experience.
Got my b1 b2 visa last year before I got pregnant, visited this year while 5 months pregnant and already showing however the VO didn't ask any questions regarding having the baby here.
However when I got back, I sent a mail to the embassy and got the standard reply.
Before travelling, I printed all my correspondence with the hospital (gwinnet), doctor oduro, receipt of part payment, medical insurance and the embassy correspondence.
However on getting to the u.s, d VO did not ask to see any of my documents. Just asked the reason for the visit, how long I'm staying, how much i'm carrying and what I do in nigeria. And if I've travelled to the u,s on the current visa. Everything was about 30mins.

I've seen doctor oduro and he's really nice and professional at the same time. It felt like he'd been my doctor from the beginning.

Anyways guys just decided to share my experience with u all. Contrary to what others feel about atlanta POE I had a wonderful experience.
Wish all d intending parents a wonderful experience like mine.
If anyone has any questions let me know.

Cheers
I tap into this
Am 4 months gone and I intend visiting the us in 2 weeks time and also use the opportunity to find a doctor/ hospital for birthing purpose, when I return, will inform the embassy about my intentions. In the end I pray all works out well. Amen

Can someone pls answer my question? Gurus in the house, Abeg o
You can use a church wedding certificate as long as your church is registered with the federal marriage registry under ministry of interior,it's the same certificate you get.most orthodox churches are registered(if not all) while just a few Pentecostal churches are. I did both church and registry(federal) both certificates are the same. So if your church marriage certificate has the federal republic of Nigeria on one side and the ministry of interior on the other with marriage act + coat of arms in the middle, you can use it, if other wise am not sure, except if it's a local government marriage registry certificate

Hubs and mom have gingered me to reapply but I just want to sleep. Se I can reapply immediately abi?
Sorry about ur refusal, you can reapply at anytime, my Dh was denied at Lagos embassy despite his numerous travel experience and reapplied 4 days after, his number was called at the same cubicle he was denied, when he got to the VO's cubicle he told him right away he was there last week and he was refused by him for No tangible reason, the VO looked surprised and asked him to go sit down that his number will be called again, his passport was passed to the next VO and the first question he asked was why where you refused? My Dh told him to find out from him colleague. Dh got his visa that day. Don't be discouraged dear, reapply asap, with God on your side, you ll get it.

Hi all,

Earlier this year, I was on nairaland to tell people about a cheap place in Montgomery Alabama and I was shut down and branded a fraud. Outside nairaland, people contacted me and had an awesome stay with low bill hence I left here in peace.

On seeing the doctor today, I was told about calls they got from Nigeria booking appointment and all that.
Firstly, I made the $1200 deal for MY people and if you wanna call the hosiptal be my guest and negotiate a new prize and leave my name out of it.

Cheers
Am new here, came along your post while I was going thru the pages of this thread, please I really need a doctor in Alabama, can you please post the doctors contact here or PM me, thanks in advance.
TravelRe: Usa Visit Visa by fehinebony(f): 5:35pm On Aug 16, 2014
Largeabbey: Did my interview today at the Lagos consulate, it was a denial again. I guess its not just yet time for me to see America. A girl I tried passing some of the knowledge I acquired on here got her visa approved even though she's single and blatantly told me that the marriage she intends going for is scheduled for Saturday which is two days from now. I was kinda surprise to see her give me a thumb up to indicate that her visa was approved even though the time frame was short and the marriage she intends going for would have been done before her passport gets sent back. I have below the questions I was asked and all the responses I gave the VO.

VO: How are you?

Me: I am good and you?

VO: Good

VO: Why do you want to go to the US?

Me: For vacation and tourism purpose.

VO: Where in the U.S do you intend going?

Me: Orlando, Florida.

VO: What do you intend doing while there?

Me: Viewing places like Universal Orlando and Disney world.

VO: Why would you be visiting without your wife and kids

Me: My wife had just picked up a new job few months ago and we both know she isn't just ripe for leave yet.

VO: Have you traveled out of Nigeria before?

Me: Yes

VO: Where precisely?

Me: To Ghana and United kingdom

VO: Asked me if I had traveled to Switzerland after seeing a valid Switzerland visa on my passport

Me: I told him no even though I had an itinerary which indicates that I will be spending few days in Switzerland enroute U.S.

VO: What do you do for a living sir?

Me: Am the C.E.O of so so so and so company.

VO: What do you do in your company?

Me: Told him.

VO: Am sorry but your visa isn't approved and he gave me the form.

I queried why he rejected me and he told me that the paper he served would explain. I believe the fact I wasn't traveling with my family served as a deterrent to my visa issuance. House, how could I have gone on a trip with my 3 months pregnant wife who had just started working at a new place 3 months ago? Its really absurd how these people take our hard earned money. I think its time we start signing petitions online to express our displeasure and the low rate of visa issuance in Nigeria.
You can reapply as soon as possible, probably next week. My husband had a similar experience, despite his numerous travel experience he was refused without any tangible reason by the VO in window 5 so reapplied the following week. When his number popped up it appeared in window 5 the same guy that refused him the previous week, when he got to the VO
VO: good morning
My husband: good morning, I was here last week and you refused my application
VO: really
My husband: yes, without any reason
VO: so sorry, please go back to your seat I will give your passport to my colleague to interview you
My husband: ok

His number gets called in window 3

VO : good morning, you were here last week
My husband: yes
VO: why were you refused
My husband : I wasn't told, but you can find out from your colleague
VO : you r a frequent traveller to the uk,
My husband: yes
VO: y America now
My husband : want to visit somewhere different for my vacation
VO: where in America do you intend to visit
My husband: Baltimore
VO: why Baltimore
My husband: was highly recommended by my sis, she visited there on her last trip
VO: what to you do
My: property developer
VO : r you married
My husband: yes
VO: do you have kids
My husband: yes
VO: how many
My husband: 2
VO: your visa has been approved bla bla bla

Booked my appointment in July, I took my time and read every single page on this thread and it was very helpful. I can say this is the best thread ever. Thanks again everyone.

The Chinese guy in windows 7 refused almost everyone while I was in there seems he doesn't like Nigerians (just saying)

For those about to apply just make sure you stick to all you filled in your Ds-160 form if you deviate from it you ll definitely be refused and also be well composed, be Bold and Dress your wage! All the best...
