Ritualists Arrested During Fight Over Payment For Fresh Human Hands.

A 40-year-old herbalist, Michael Itomu, and three others have been caught in possession of fresh human hands in Idiroko, Ogun State.

The herbalist and three other men named; Mathew Idosu, John Feyisetan and Samuel Adegbola have been arrested.

This followed an information received by policemen that they had been in contact with the herbalist for money rituals.

The suspects had contacted somebody in Abeokuta who had promised to get the human hands for them at the rate of N1million.

Ogun State Governor, Mr Dapo Abiodun has finally bowed to pressure and good reason by sacking her disgraced Commissioner for Education, Dr. Sidikatu Osho. Dapo Abiodun against the public service rules and norms had appointed Osho as a member of his cabinet first as a Special Adviser and later as Commissioner.

Madam Sidikatu Osho has been previously dismissed for gross misconduct from the public service of Ogun State, specifically, from Olabisi Onabajo University, OOU, Ago-Iwoye.
Dr. Sidikatu Osho deliberately hid her working experience from OOU when she attended screening at the Ogun State House of Assembly and carelessly enough too, the State government may not have done due diligence before nominating her for the cabinet position.

Immediately after the nomination of Madam Sidikatu Osho as a Commissioner nominee, many good citizens of Ogun State cried blue murder and wondered how a government can be so insensitive and careless to have nominated for an appointment a dismissed staff of Ogun State public service whose dismissal has not been quashed.

History will never forget the immediate past governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun who misused state resources – and without results, however minimal.

Senator Amosun littered Ogun State with needless Model Schools, having abandoned the numerous public primary and secondary schools in a despicable condition, with dilapidated resources and inadequate manpower.

Across Ogun State, former Governor Amosun caused many families to lose their means of livelihood all in the name of road construction that never yielded anything. In Abeokuta, the State Capital alone, Amosun destroyed houses and shops along Panseke-Adigbe, Adatan-Obantoko, Elega-Saje, claiming right of way without proper compensation.

He went as far as destroying the long-existing structure in the tertiary education sub-sector. Amosun uprooted the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, causing havoc to academic and non-academic staff, landlords, local transporters and business centre operators.

Senator Ibikunle Amosun neglected OKLNG and Refinery, because Alhaji Aliko Dangote did not give him 40% equity share in the business. This glaring act of selfishness caused Alhaji Dangote to relocate his business to Ibeju Lekki, an unfortunate move which let Ogun State and its people lose numerous employment and investment opportunities attached to the project, to neighbouring Lagos State.

Many Ogun State residents view Amosun as a fraud. Is that going too far? Consider this: What kind of governor takes application fees for civil service jobs from over 1,000 applicants, only to eventually leave the applicants without jobs? What kind of government dupes her own people. All thanks to Prince Dapo Abiodun, the many applicants who had worked for almost a year without pay and were already frustrated, now have permanent, paying civil service jobs. I could only imagine how many cases of suicide would have been reported, because those innocent ASCON freshers had taken loans upon loans to feed and transport themselves to and fro Oke-Mosan every day.

The Lagos State Government has reacted to the recently conducted public opinion on a new lockdown saying polls would not be the only measure to determine a new lockdown.

The State Government gave the announcement via its Instagram handle on Thursday while replying to many Nigerians that expressed their opinion through the instituted polls.

The polls which started on Tuesday, 12th May, 2020 will end on Friday 15th, 2020.

Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Strategy, Mr. Olusina Thorpe said Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu led administration wants Lagosians to be involved in state decision making and governance.

He also said that other factors would be considered before a final decision is made on imposition of a new lockdown the coming weeks.

The Lagos State has made available three of its social media platforms, namely; Twitter: @followlasg, Facebook: Lagos State Government and Instagram: @lagosstategovt, for masses to express their opinions on a new lockdown.

The Ogun State Government has commissioned an additional 100- bed isolation and treatment center for Covid-19 patients with a firm assurance that the facility will further increase the state capacity to fight the pandemic.

The center, which is a donation from the private sector Coalition Against Covid-19 ( CACOVID), sits in the Oke-Mosan area of Abeokuta, the State Capital.

Speaking at the Commissioning, the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Tomi Coker said the state government now has over 300 beds across its isolation and treatment centers, describing the donation as a milestone in the State’s response to Covid-19 since the government woke up to the index case on February 27, 2020.

At least 55 COVID-19 patients in Madagascar have recovered after being treated with the country’s herbal remedy for the disease

The number of COVID-19 patients said to have been “cured” with the drug — which is bottled as herbal tea — rose after three recoveries were announced on Saturday.

According to L’Express de Madagascar, the patients were among those that were administered the drug known as COVID-Organics since it was launched in April.

It did not state if there was any supplementary treatment, but reported that “treatment of (COVID-19) patients has been based” on the drug since it was introduced. “The same day that the CVO herbal tea was launched, two coronavirus patients who consumed it came out cured,” L’Express de Madagascar reported. “Until yesterday, fifty-five people have been declared cured since the adoption of CVO herbal tea treatment twenty days ago.” It added that to aid the fight against COVID-19, the drug is being distributed freely in parts of the country.

A High Court in Port Harcourt has sentenced a 200 level student of Physics department, University of Port Harcourt (Uniport), Ifeanyi Dike and one Ugochukwu Nwamiro, to death by hanging over the murder of an 8-year-old girl, Victory Chikamso Nmezuwuba.
One is to be hung on his neck until he dies while the other is to be hung on the leg till he dies as well.

Dike, who was 23 years old when the incident happened in 2017, was apprehended with a sack containing Chikamso’s remains following a tip-off.


He was later handed over to the police for further investigations and prosecution. Dike reportedly removed the victim’s eyes, vagina, finger and tongue, after defiling and murdering her with the assistance of his cousin, Ugochukwu.

The Lagos State Government has apologised for what it described as “a presumed COVID19-related death” of a 32-year-old man who was evacuated from Dubai.

Announcing his death on Tuesday, the Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, had tweeted that the unnamed individual died of coronavirus-related complications.

He had tweeted: “Another #COVID19-infection related death involving 32-year old male has been recorded.

“The deceased recently returned from Dubai with severe underlying health condition following evacuation of Nigerians in foreign countries by @DigiCommsNG.”

Several hours later (in two tweets posted today), the commissioner said the claim was “a presumed #COVID19 related death,” and that the deceased person’s “result of the confirmation test for #COVID19 status is still being awaited.”

“The death of a recent Dubai returnee previously announced on my social media handles earlier was a presumed #COVID19 related death. The result of the confirmation test for #COVID19 status is still being awaited.

“I regret any misinterpretation this post might have caused. The result of #COVID19 test conducted will be published once it is ready. Thanks for your understanding,” he had tweeted.

It may be recalled that the returnees who were initially stranded in United Arab Emirate at the beginning of COVID-19 lockdown eventually arrived the shore of Nigeria on May 6 and placed under on a two-week compulsory quarantine by the federal government.

There Will Not Be Lockdown During Palliatives Distribution – Makinde

Oyo state governor, Engr.Seyi Makinde has said the state will not be locked down during the distribution of palliatives to cushion the effects of the stay-at-home order caused by coronavirus pandemic.

Makinde said this on Monday in a telephone interview on a popular radio station in Ibadan, Fresh FM, while giving update on Covid-19 pandemic in the state.

He added that the distribution will be done simultaneously across the 33 local government areas in the state.

He said “It will be done simultaneously in all the local governments this week but there won’t be a total lock down for the purpose as suggested by the committee in charge.”

Makinde also explained the reason why the state Secretariat was opened to business despite the covid-19 pandemic saying it was to strike a balance between the physical health and the economic health of the state.

Governor Makinde stressed that those in this cadre have their separate offices and meetings will be held on-line while visitors will be restricted so that all precautionary measures will be taken.
