If you don't know about afro-freelancers hub, i'll tell you.

Afro-freelancers hub is a new start up in Nigeria founded by a female mathematics and computer science graduate.

With proper observation, it is safe to say unemployment is one of africa's toughest challenge and not much has been done about it. But not withstanding that, people have gone ahead to become entrepreneurs while some acquire skills and earn income with these acquired skills.

It is true that there are so many people who are unemployed yet they possess special skills and talents.

Afro-freelancers hub is an online community whose aim is finding individuals and businesses who are looking for services and connecting them to part-time and freelance workers within their cities.

Type of jobs on afro-freelancers are not limited to online jobs but mostly focused on local jobs where you meet face to face.

The website is meant to be beneficial to both an educated and uneducated member. You don't have to be a computer literate to use the platform.

**HOWS IT WORKS**

Afro-freelancers hub is a simple and free website, meant for all.
As a client seeking for workers for your project, all you have to do is post a project by stating your project description, stating the location & your budget price for the project.
There is also an option to upload files, pictures or anything related to the project.
Freelancers around your city who are interested will bid for your job by writing a short note and stating their service charge.

Clients gets the opportunity of choosing from pool of talented and expert workers rather than being assigned to one. The client contacts bidders via the inbuilt messaging system on the website and awards the project to the preferred worker.

A contract agreement is being created when the worker accepts the award and they discuss about the job, how to meet and payment method.

Afro-freelancers hub don't interfer with contracts as their sole aim is to connect you to a client and won't be involved in payment decision or having a shared percentage of worker's income.

The platform is meant to serve every individual both literate and uneducated and for this reason, the mode of payment is being decided by both the client and worker.

They are some people that would rather request for cash than bank payment so whatever you get to choose is your choice.

A farmer who gets a contract with a food processing company might not get the chance of going to the bank or queuing up on the ATM to get money when he has works to be done in the farm.

On the platform, they are two users which are the clients also called the employers and the freelancers who are the workers. Both users can post projects and bid for jobs.

**THINGS YOU CAN DO WITH AFRO-FREELANCERS HUB.**

Jobs/VacanciesDifference Between Blue Collar And White Collar Jobs by fejeerow(op): 1:27am On Feb 04, 2018
Blue Collar vs White Collar

Up to this day, there is confusion in discerning blue from white collar jobs. There has been some stigma attached to some, most especially to blue collar jobs. Nevertheless, both job types have their own set of pros and cons.

Traditionally, white collar jobs were named as such because these jobs originally required the worker to wear a shirt that is colored white either with a tie or without one. These jobs are often those that require the employee to wear a tie and work within the safe confines of the four walls of their offices, stores, schools and the like. Nevertheless, it can be safely said that the era of wearing the traditional white shirt and tie has already faded away. Still, many professionals like doctors and lawyers still don their ties and perhaps couple it with a white coat (especially for the medical doctors) to give an impression of a more serious stance.

On the contrary, blue collar jobs are not necessarily jobs that require the worker to wear blue shirts or polo. It is rather an expression which emphasizes that these employees work in a non-management position like those jobs that may involve workers becoming dirtier because of physically working a little harder. Often, these are the jobs that require protection clothing. So, perhaps the confusion sets in when one would label being a doctor as a blue collar job because most of them wear a doctor’s coat or mask for protection. Medical doctors are white collar workers! Blue collar workers are the auto mechanics, drivers, and factory employees.

Unfortunately, there is an undeniable presence of a stigma for blue collar jobs. People often become too judgmental and say that these jobs are just plain ‘dirty,’ literally. Even if most of these jobs are more laborious, not to mention dangerous for the employee because of the workplace they report to, this does not always hold true to all cases.

Conversely, white collar jobs have a better working environment that are usually cleaner and cooler. These are the corporate jobs that often have a good basic monthly pay. As a result, many professionals who hold a degree end up with a white collar job while those who didn’t finish college will eventually end up in ‘just’ a blue collar job. Yet again, this is not applicable to all situations. Also, middle class workers have been linked to blue collar while the upper class workers have been connected to white collar. Fortunately for blue collar jobs, the truth about receiving a higher pay for their white collar counterpart is not always true. In several instances, they even end up receiving a higher pay than the white collar workers.

1. White collar jobs are made synonymous to professionals who obtained higher degrees and education.

2. White collar jobs are linked to the generally higher paying type of jobs.

3. White collar jobs often have a cleaner of ‘better’ workplaces.

4. White collar jobs are more corporate and managerial while blue collar jobs are often non management but actual physical labor type of jobs

Good day all,

If you clicked on this link, it means you are interested in a freelance career.
A freelancer is not only based on working online. A freelancer is someone who works for himself without being under anyone, someone who exchange his time and skills for income by rendering services to clients. So if you are a painter, plumber, hair stylist, private investigator, writer, etc and you work for yourself, that makes you a freelancer.

Two days ago, I saw a post on twitter of a man looking for a group of people who will do a survey for a company, I applied and got the job to be paid after the survey is completed. Now I can say i'm working as a freelancer as am not under the company.
Now am saying that the work environment of Nigeria is changing gradually especially with the introduction of "Entrepreneurship" by the government and other organisation.
Using this company that employed me as an example, am sure they have other employees, but they decided to work through outsiders. It is simple, they trying to cut labour cost, it is what all companies are doing now.

Not to forget, this company who employed me is also a vendor to another bigger company with a contractual relationship. So if your dream is finding a big company to employ you then rethink because they don't have your interest at heart, they are only concerned about you working to keep the revenue flowing.

Most companies prefer to employ few staffs and hire contractors and freelancers to work for them without commitment. If you have workerd in the oil and gas sector then this shouldnt be new to you. SPDC is a big oil company but most of their jobs are done by vendors (contractors) and that is why dropping off staffs has no effect on the company negatively but helping them cut expenses.

Having learnt about what is going on in the Work environment of Nigeria, do you still think it is advisable to keep submitting cv like a postman to companies who will drop previous workers and employ new desperate job seekers who will do anything to get employed, thereby underpaying them?

Freelancing is a great foundation for starting an entrepreneurial journey in the business world.
For those people who have business ideas but no funds, Freelancing is a good way to use your skills and offer services to clients and earn income. You have the opportunity to explore your different skills and make money with them.
From your income, you can fund your business idea and become an entrepreneur.

FINDING CLIENTS TO WORK FOR

This is one challenge some people encounter, trying to find who to work for especially students who don't have an office or point of meeting. There are lots of freelance websites online where you can get freelance jobs but mostly international platforms where the competition is high.
we have like freelancer.com, odesk, elance, peoplehour, etc.

Me personally, have few issues with these sites e.g

*Payment issues , that is getting paid as Nigeria don't have the receive money feature on PayPal.
*For a new user, chance of getting a job is slim,
*These available jobs are mostly online jobs and not everyone who is willing to work can be a computer literate who can work online.

INTRODUCING ONE OF NIGERIA'S FIRST FREELANCE WEBSITE

No doubt, they are other freelance, gig websites in Nigeria which are mainly focused on "work online", i have seen few local freelance websites that are based for lagos residents.
Most job websites are focused on Professional employment jobs, Some are focused on online freelance jobs but we need to understand that the uneducated or non-graduate also need to work and earn a living and also to the non-computer literate who can't work online.

Everything is changing that soon our certificates won't do us any good but only our skills can answer for us.

AFRO-FREELANCERS HUB is one of Nigeria's first freelance marketplace that is focused on the whole mass, no one is been neglected and deprived of his right to earn income legally. One of the reason of Africa having record of high rate of fraud and criminal record is because of citizens been idle and no legal means of earning income. Afro-freelancers hub recognises all skills and connects them to clients and individuals seeking similar services.
AFRO-FREELANCERS HUB is an online platform that connects people who work as a freelancers to people (clients who are seeking services). Freelancers can work part time or full time, they can be hired by companies to work for number of years, months or week. They can also be hired by individuals for individual tasks.

www.afro-freelancers.com

The website ccovers many job categories, from writing, virtual assistant, research, investigation, typing/editing to fashion design, make up artistry, oil and gas services, wall and flooring design, phone repairs, appliances installation and maintainance.,,,all freelance jobs you can find.

While waiting for employment, use this website to find jobs, if you have a business you can develop it by finding clients and networking.

On this website, they are two users which are;

*The worker(freelancer)
*The recruiter(clients)

A client post a job by using the "the start project" tab, write project description, state budget price and location of jobs then he has the option to upload files relating to the job, pdf,mp3,jpeg, etc.
Then interested workers, read the job description and click on the "bid" button to bid for job. You write a short letter and state how much you are willing to charge for that task. Clients gets to review bids from his end and contact his preferred worker and they discuss how to meet and get the job done along side with getting paid.
AFRO-FREELANCERS HUB has no hand or involvement in payment plans, our only purpose is to connect clients with workers. Workers and clients are to meet face to face (applying safety precautions) and discuss how to get the work done, how much to be paid and how payment should be received.
To complete the task, after job done, clients has to write a review and rate worker's performance . This will help other people who are seeking workers for their task.

If you are a student seeking extra income , use this website to find clients around your location.
If you are a business person, develop your business through this platform
If you are an unemployed person, build your entrepreneurial life by saving money from freelancing and also creating your brand awareness.
If you are an individual or organization looking for an expert to handle your task, there is a pool of talented professionals to choose from. all you need to do is post your project description and watch interested workers bid for your job with different prices.
