confusedworld17: Save your self that energy and quit trying to please shitty riders, because YOU CAN NEVER NEVER PLEASE THEM, NEVER! See ehn... lie down on the floor and have them use you as their foot mat or stool, shitty riders will still complain that you did not lie down well.
As long as I do my bit, I don't go out of my way to please any shitty rider. Because at the end of the day, whether you like it or not, you go still "CHOP" that one star. So why not save your self that stress, cancel the request and move on once you see those red flags from the beginning.
Me, I don't even argue or exchange words with them any more. Once I see those signs, no matter how juicy (LONG TRIPS) the trip might look, I will just respect my self and jejely cancel the trip and wait for another request.
Now, before you start preaching to me that your nauseating sermon of "DESTINY HELPERS". Let me first of all tell you that Destiny helpers are not Shitty, Rude, Condescending and all those bullshit.
Na so I wan go pick up one man one early mor mor. The man with commanding tone say make I drive enter his compound, number one red flag. I politely told him that I don't drive into people's compound. He grudgingly walked out from his compound and dash me one kind condescending look. That's number two red flag.
Then the third red flag wey make me cancel the request and move on be say ... Instead of the man to enter car, he first of all begin dey go round my car dey check my tires. Ah! Ah!! Now imagine if I had gone on that trip with that man, there's 99% chance that I would regret that trip.
So many other bad encounters but let me stop here for now. One Goldberg for you dia plus one week free meal tick at radautoworks. @radauto the bill is on me note his moniker |

Sammylee22: Good morning to the house. Please if you pick a rider to a destination and getting to the destination and the rider wants you to take him back to the pick up location, Will it be calculated automatically by Uber/bolt after the whole trip? Yes but the norm is for the rider to update his/her destination or stop overs along the way. But there's something I would like to share for the benefit of all but depends because... If you receive a request with surge say, ikeja and rider is going to mafoluku and getting to destination rider wants you to wait and bring h/h back to ikeja or somewhere else don't allow that rider to update h/h destination because if they do at that present location the whole trip will be update without surge in that location and you end up with the normal fare amount which will be a lost to driver and a gain to rider. Drivers take note of this, ive experienced this 2good time within this month. The first after trip ended I complained to uber on a price review but the correspondent confirm to me trip has no surge as at the time rider requested the ride. I was like....!!! Note on uber ooh not bolt. You guys can share your experience on this. |

Babadee1900: You could have handled this better though but I understand that some of these girls can be annoying and need schooling when necessary.
I usually find it annoying when I call a rider to confirm pick up address and they tell me ‘oga use your map’. I do not have any issue using my map but 5/10 of these times it’s always wrong. I don’t understand why there will be five estates inside ONE estate...like wtf!
So on Sunday I was on freedom way cruising when I got a request. Rider address was showing Idado Street, which means I have to go through the Idado market to get to her but my mind told me it’s not right. Correct location is inside the Idado Estate.
Just to confirm I called her, asked if it’s Idado Street, that will I pass through the mfm church, next thing I heard was oga use your map.
I followed Bolts navigation through the market then I saw plenty water. Had to call her again to tell her I have followed the map and I am in the market, she was now saying No No No you shouldn’t have passed through the market yen yen yen.
Well I found my way back to the right place.
Got to her place, she was already waiting outside, I didn’t waste time before I start the trip. After all I’m all about the money.
.....same girl that was forming for me on phone now told me to make sure I save her number and she’s hoping that I’m not one of those guys that used to form loyal boyfriend oooo. I just laughed and continued moving Lagos Reason I dont call most times because the reply is expected. In this job bro I'm not here to impress anybody neither am I doing it to get favored or light up some kind of ovens. I've a beautiful wife and kids at home to look after. So fuxk any stupid girl looking for some kind of loyal what ever! |

nitigriti: Great going guys!
I'm thinking we will benefit from a different perspective to situations like this.
Whenever I receive a trip request, I always call the rider immediately and confirm the pick up location - street address and number. It saves me a lot of stress and helps inform decisions I need to make - like should I go or not go?
When I've confirmed the rider's pick up location, I then give the rider my estimated time of arrival. If my ETA will be more than 5 minutes, I plead with the rider to please be patient; that I'm definitely coming.
All of these would have taken just a 60 second call; but a lot of misunderstandings would have been avoided.
Only then will I start driving to the pick up point. I do call most of the time but you know how these things work na bro, sometimes I just feel like not talking to anybody to avoid issues while I mind my business. Also, drivers especially those on rental needs to apply due diligence in daily dealings else you'll go home with just little or no penny and in the end of the week stories to car owner. Uber fare is just too cheap, most of their fare ends N400, N500. You can imagine a trip from farmcity at ogudu to Inside Iwaya last night ended 1k. Initial pickup distance= 350m, Called to get real pickup location =4~5min ~~ N10 Destination distance= 19km Fare amount= 1000 Uber bonus to rider= 350 Uber charge~ 400 My earnings= 950 or there about No do the costing after fuel and work done. The only compensation I got was rider asking, How long have you been driving? Over 15yrs I replied, " why" I asked. "I like the way you drive, keep it up". I looked at my stars rating after like 5min my 1star rating increases from 8-9. Probably rider was trying to rate my and then used the default rating ranking which starts from 1star. Now ask me, Watin I gain? |

So, I set destination trip to Ogba cos I knew with such trip daily target is not negotiable. Request beeped on a surge of 2.4, dat kind of request you'll b so quick to call d rider and fortunately for me, she's going to Ogba as I got to pick up destination, I meet 2 friends or sisters... The one that booked the ride is going to lekki phase 1, while the other is Ogba. So, I heard this chat b/w them as they open the door "Oya! Enter, let me cancel the trip and book my own", I almost jump from the drive sit to hit the phone off her hand, like jack b4 she hit d cancel tab ha! Ma'am don't do that oo, if u cancel the trip, I won't b on dis trip again. She try to argue with me abt being able to book more ride from one app, she have to go home too ard lekki and they only have a app, her friend does not have bolt. I have to school them on one trip per app and how they have to find way to download another app on her friend phone, the process was taking to long and I have to do what I barely do today, bought out my phone and book for her. Surge can make one do the unthinkable las las Hahaha... Soji shall! Longer throat fellow... Haha... So d ignorant girl truly wanted to cancel the trip? Are u kidding me??!!! |

Moat of these girls can be so annoying.
Got a uber req few minutes back somewhere around jibowu yaba area. Drove down to PU. Placed a call through rider since she's not reading her app message.
Rider: where r u Me: Im outside Rider: ok I'm coming out.
She called back after about 2min. Rider: where r u na I can't see you, didn't you use you map. Me: I've been here since, ok look your left and to ghost ht if you can see me my hazard light is on now. Rider: I can't see still, you map is supposed to bring you to No 31 na aee you sure you're here? Me: No number on your req just your street name or isn't it shoyinka street? Yes she affirmed. Rider: ok ask someone of No31 or ahould I cancel?
Me in my mind I just smile, b like dis one no mnow say her 5min grace don ellaps abi she think say na bolt?.
I started my engine, asked some guys around even though I hate doing that. They directed me. Turned and on my hazard light than called her this time.
She hugged her bf then opens the back door and entered.
Rider: you just arrived self and you said you've been here.
Me: what do you mean? Rider:...still talking Me: do you want to continue on this ride? Rider: I should cancel? Me: i wouldnt mind: Rider: then you'll give me my N400
At this time her bf then came in, Whats happening any issue? Gf: ahe said he wants to cancel, but he will give me my N400.
As they where discussing me don cancel already. Me: you can come down now, I just canceled.
The bf resounded it to her, he has cancel.
They closed my door I just zoomed off.
I no get time for bad riders that will end up rating me low at all it better I cancel.

yommie007: Encountered a rider I pick from somewhere in oniru to Ikeja yesterday. On getting to the pick up location, she waved and got into the car. Me: good evening ma'am Rider: hey good evening, ehmmm... I hope you accept transfers? Me: (hmmmm, well its UBER) sure. But to save yourself the stress, why not just do card trips. Rider: is it not "you people" that caused it. Every time I order and drivers see its card, they start complaining, had no choice but to deactivate the card. Me: personally I prefer card trips. Rider: really? Me: it saves me the headache of trying to look for change and cash transactions delays movements in sensitive areas where you ain't allowed to stop or park. Rider: that makes sense, but who knows the kinda rider I might encounter tomorrow. Me: well different people with different reasoning.
From the whole story, I guess the transfer option was really a medium force on riders by some drivers. The more reason only a few would consent you before commencement of the trip. During same trip Me: it is possible you might start encountering drivers who wouldn't allow you eat in their car, so get ready. Rider: oh the biscuits. I understand there are many messy eaters who messes up the car and makes the car susceptible to ants and the rest. Me: yeah..... the conduct of riders determines my action. Rider: ok.
Really some riders knows the right thing to do but they just like to be told. God bless the hustle.
I also once took a guy from Lekki to ikotun and back to Lekki. On getting to admiralty way, he was like Rider: bros pls I'm seriously hungry, I'm not sure I can that to that long journey on an empty stomach. Me: ok........ he did a take away and came back to the car Rider: thanks Me: uw Rider: I hope I can eat in the car oo, because the last time I tried eating in an uber in Dubai, the driver change am for me oo. He was so strict that I can't eat anything in his car or he will end the trip. Me: really. Rider: I dey tell you. Just just respect myself and waited till I got out of the car.
Obviously some riders knows this rule cuz they are enlightened and exposed but because its 9ja, rules can be bent. I couldn't be strict because I knew I was gonna make money from the trip. The trip lasted 5hrs 51 minutes. Would I have allowed the rider to starve while I bought Pepsi and rite for myself....?
God bless the hustle...... This is reasonable to a default. Not some riders like a woman I picked somewhere around abattoir, agege, she was even eating right from inside her estate and into my car. I immediately told her politely ahe can't eat on my car but she adamantly refused instead she suggested I roll down saying she is not a kid that will eat littering the whole place. End of trip I still cleaned some stains from her food and pickes out some seeds of rice. This was an enlightened Hausa woman with those their good accent. Las Las madam gave me 1star claiming I'm rude. In burna boy's voice, watin man go do? When there're no jobs out there. Even Sexylasie self talk am say uber drivers deserve no respect because its not a professional job, after all we sisnt applied for it with our University degree.
