Eizenburg: I’m a numbers guy. You wanna do the maths?? A professor without an industrial expoaure. First, have you driven b4? How long? Have you ever rented a car for the purpose of ehailing like uber or bolt? How long? If you can give answers to all of these questions then I can have an argument wirh you, otherwise, I see nothing to relate with you. |

Eizenburg: Not to overflog the issue, but the 20yr old guy chose to drive extensively towards whatever target he set for himself.
Unpopular opinion There’s more profit in e-hailing for the driver. Partner makes considerably less
*runs outta thread* You believe so? Driver make more profit when compare to partner owners? Try taking a rental and drive then come back after 3weeks lets see how far it goes. |

calabardick: Excuse me sir. I think you should read my post with understanding before responding, which your response isn't necessary. - where did I mention that the guy is complaining? I did what I did out of pity, not because he complained, not because he begged me for anything. If I didn't have a conversation with him I wouldn't have known anything about him, just that its my style to know any driver that comes my way. I'm off the ehauling wheel, but whenever I see a Corolla involved in any issue I must stop by to know how I can help, have you done that before?
I hate it when we are talking about Nigeria someone will bring in another country as a yardstick. - if Nigerian was very okay then why were you in London? (If at all you were there) - can you compare Nigerian economy to London? - can you compare Nigerian's fare to London? - how many 20yrs old in Nigeria can affor a car of their own? - do you know how much uber charged from international airport to my house, with the one hour he slept in my place? And he never complained, rather he was excited.
Throughout my service years in the military and as an instrumentation and controls engineer in the oil and gas industry I've been to more than ten countries (outside Africa) but I've not used it to judge anyone.
- in Brazil, do you know that the number one Schneider Knx programmer as at 2016 when I met him he was 18? - do you know that one of the highest paid instrumentation engineer in Angola now working with one of the E & Ps is 20 this year? - one of the OEM (in Australia) that certified me in Process Controls their best technician is below 20. - not to mention the ones I met in military out there Should I mention more?
This is Nigeria, let's see how we can help each other, that's the way forward, instead of using it against them. The said guy will be going to PH on Sunday with my logistics officer, I was able to connect him with some friends, 3 companies awaits him there.
Thats the way forward. God bless you my brother... They'll just running their mount anyhow telling us how they've spent all their life abroad making comparison anyhow. Anyways, i don't blame them, a total lack of wisdom and understanding. Who you help is what matters not how wealthy, popular or good. Who you help? |

The highest numbers od trips ive done on uber was 47 which was last week. My account was credited with about 31k+ on Monday which I used part to pay for my rental. The cash I got on me was about 10k, after filling up my tank on Monday b4 travelling outta state I was left with about 9k or there about. sexylassie: what has this got to do with feminism..na wa for naija guys
it is understandable why a woman can run to her mother over slight issues some times but for man who is suppose to lead his house that is a big red flag for any woman. if you call yourrself leader of the home as most naija men want to be called, why run to your mother at every given time, why ' you solve your problems like a leader you all are.
to your second question, yes. both of them can become waiter or waitress or whatever job they are qualified for at that age, i even support the acquisition of skills like carpentry, mechanic, tailoring etc if they cant find jobs that pay, the purpose is to teach personal responsibility atleast in countries in the developed world, you can see young kids of 15 or 16 working in wendy's, kfc, mcdonalds or doing online business like drop-shipping to earn cash and be independent before 18 it is a norm there, here in naija, we protect kids to the extend that they become docile an not able to fend for themselves when daddy and mummy is no more.
do you know why in reserve parks they dont allow visitors to give animals foods, because they become dependent and docile and also because they will stop their natural process of hunting and start to wait for humans to give them free stuff... Oh so its a norm for a woman to run to her mother abi but a taboo for a man to do same when the wife doesn't know how to cook or know how to even satisfy her man abi? Or doing chor chor instead of minding her business abi? Madam I can see your frustration because your husband is probably doing doing this and you know what? Its your fault no fault of his. Go to any eatery around the country and fish out an employee with a school cert lets see. Most of them even demand 2.1 graduate. Madam stop making comparison with abroad Nigeria is nothing close. Has we are distance in miles apart so also our differences in every fair of life and we can never be develop like any European country not even in a 100yrs time. |

Btw,To be sincere, that is why we have lot of men child in this country, imagine a grown up married man still reporting to his mother about affairs in his home. Its so unfortunate that's the society we find ourselves. Femanist how about wives that always run to their mothers at every slight issue in her home? Don't bring gender differences into this matter. You want the boy child to become a waiter right? So what should the girl child do at age 16? A Waitress right? @Dru23 you're privilege to spend most of your years abroad, a quick question? Would you rather yiur children grow up here in 9ja or in Yankee? lets have reasons to any of the answer. |

Brother did you say 100k? This is serious. I have a problem here, why consider what he isn't considering? If his family was important to him I don't think he would've done that. You know what? Don't stop the good work but avoid bad workers, they're like the DEVIL, even if you remove the letter D the answer will still be EVIL, you can't make anything good out of them.
Someone was trying to advice an intending partner on this forum many months ago to scramble the idea of considering marriage as a condition for service. He said that married men may come up with lots of family stories for not been able to remit, that was so true.
My logistics officer is a married man with children, I met him as an ehauling driver, he's on this platform as well. you have to see how this young man sacrifices for his family. He's ready to take any task just for the sake of the wife and children, he doesn't joke with his family same as any task assigned to him. He drives every week from Lekki/Epe to PH, Warri and Benin without complaining. When my woman spoke with him he said "whenever I see my wife and children happy when I return home, the excitement in them welcoming me alone gives me joy, whether I eat or not, whether I have money or not, my joy is filled, it makes me a proud husband/father". He added "yes, my family is my greatest priority but I need my job to keep them going and I need them to keep my job going, whenever I think about them it gives me the strength to do more because I don't want them to suffer. Can you imagine this kinda mindset from a young man that is still in his thirties dru? As I'm typing this now he's preparing to hit the road to warri.
Right from the day he made that statement lots of things changed positively between him and us... 100%. But advice that young to watch his health closely oooh and be more conscious about his safety. Stress kills my brother and if anything happens to him God forbid its the same family he loves so much that will suffer. True, every man should work hard to make his family comfortable but remember you need to stay alive to have them have the best in live. May God bless every hard working men out there and also keep them safe and healthy! |

You can make your rental in 5 days and do whatever with the remaining 2.
Granted, a hard-working partner-driver needs some time off, but if he/she plans the job well, there won’t be any need for permission to rest.

Godfather10: Very sensible advice, it’s very easy to get burnt out in this job, take time off, holidays or go partying, or the job will start to disgust you. Its why its a beautiful world...we disagree to agree. Was on my way back from the Niger Delta today with one of the popular public transport system with lots of years in the business. Guess what? The driver was sleeping seriously while on steering. I was at the front seat and was also very tired and dosing off as well because I couldn't bear it, I noticed the slightly zigzag and eractic movement so I'd to sit up and then engaged him in discussion... He said it him self he was sleeping!. No imagine the risk this driver is putting his life and that of his passengers and other people at even including his company and their property. Now, the last aircraft crash that happened, was it last or there about. There was lot of report it was due to inexperience by the pilot. All lies. The truth is, most employers dont provide the enablung2 environment for their workers rather are just after their business and profit. Most or even all of these public transport companies don't have rooms for their drivers to rest after a long trip not to talk of even a bathing room or a toilet or even self a HMO should they or their family members fall sick along the line of duty. Go to their park every night you'll see them sleeping inside their car/bus the once that the day was good for them spend the night in either their concubine's house or with a sex worker with few hours sleep in the night and the next morning they're on the road driving putting people's life and property at risk. Can we boldly call a 20yrs old boy a grown up man in nigeria? @Dru23 that boy is still a child oh this is not United State of American where a child of 20 is regarded as a man oh... Over here in Nigeria we still have men in their 40s still living under their parents' roof they still chop and say "mama thank you ma". So that child is still a boy. I won't allow my child of 20 take a driving job, it's high risk to him. You need to see the way these children drive on the road. Esp these coro boys, doing 80kmph on a busy road. It is that not madness? The annoying one is they will never allow you enter their front but the way they will enter you enh! |

SaintHilary: Oga Dru. It doesn't necessarily need to affect the business, it's all about planning and willing to take care of yourself. A driver can work hard Mon-Wednesday and pay off his remmitance, take Thursday and Friday morning off, then work for his own personal money during the weekend. We can't over emphasize the importance of rest in this hustle, those people telling you to eat bitter kola so you go fit work well for night are not your friends at all, if you're tired and Uche is telling you to still keep moving Lagos, my brother off the app sleep! God bless you my brother. But e get some kind headace way Thursday to Friday morning off no go fit cure o... How about the muscular strain, the back ace only to mention a few. Abi muscle pull never hold you before? The truth is, you can't possibly work everyday in a month stretch. Some days just a particular attitude from a rider can spoil the qhole of your day leaving you with no other option but to just go home. It happened to me on Sunday. Those people claiming 35k gross earning on a daily bases should come and explain to us the tricks they use. Reason I like angryigboman to some extent is he shares his achieve of knowledge freely without monitizing it like a few people do. dru23: Let me chip in a bit.. This is a business and these business is not for everyone... partners do have a responsibility of their own. Some partners have to pay back loan etc..
That been said, if you are working in a corporate environment in a developed country.. Your boss or manger can give you a certain amount of time to deal with personal issues that might have . You are given sick days vacation days etc.. But once it gets to a point personal issues affects the business. Than your manger will have to decide what is important you or the business.
Business Ethics .. All businesses or business owners should practice this. But not to the point that it collapse the business.. Yes things are tough and it can also be tough for business owners.. Very correct baba. I'm not advocating full week off or days off in every week. All im trying to say to drivers who drives on a dailys should have some days off in a month. Having a day or two off doesn't even mean the person won't meet up to the weekly rental payment. Its for the good of all especially for those on rental. I was talking do a guy in lekki some weeks back, you needed to see sleep all over him yet this guy was still accepting request moving Lagos around all in the name of I'm on HP. Years back in portharcourt I dosed off on steering while driving home after all night drive it was the covet I clamp that woke me up. Thank God u wasntbon a high speed. Most road accident can be traced down to drivers sleeping due to tireness and inadequate rest. If I become a partner owner tomorrow I'll tell who so ever rental my vehicle to take a day or two off to rest. Who no go no know. |

Talking about health.
Guys lets always take out time to have a day or some days off after doing some days drive. Driving can be Very stranous couple with the bad energy one encounters on the daily especially from taxify riders.
Lately, I've notice some nasty and crazy attitude also from uber riders as well. All of these put together couple with the sleepless night during the week ends one can easily fall I'll if care ials not taken.
Last Saturday, I was dosing while driving on the lekki epe exp way and my rider was seating comfortably atbthe back seat thinking everything was ok, the request won't stop coming but immediately I ended the trip I just went offline, parked somewhere safe and slept off.
The headache is anothing one can't finish talking about.
Yesterday on my way to Benin seating in the front seat, I said let me take a nap the driver just said bros no ooh na me and you dey drive this motor ooo if you sleep me self fit fall asleep ooh. I was like i understand. That was how we started gisting and he exposed to me how dosing on steering has killed a lot of his collegues while some are seriously ill due to stress and inadequate rest after a long drive.
So Guys, this is not an issue one has to over emphasise. Tell your car partner you need some day off, its for the safety of you, your health, your rider, the other person driving in the road and even the pedestrians, the car and property.
Take out That time to rest today and save yourself the sorry case that may arise tomorrow
May God bless our hustle. |

AngryIgboMan: Pyrrhic victory is a victory or success that comes at the expense of great losses or costs. In business, examples of such a victory could include winning a lengthy and expensive lawsuit that at the end of the day, it wouldn't have made sense to head to the courts.
The expression alludes to King Pyrrhus of Epicurus, who, after defeating the Romans in battle, reportedly said: "If we win another such battle against the Romans, we will be completely lost." He reportedly lost 16,000 of his 17,000 best officers and warlords.
You have already spent 200 naira to recover 300. It didn't show. How much else do you want us to spend? If the 300 naira is recovered... To what purpose? A pyrrhic debt recovery?
In life, there are things you just allow to slide no matter how painful it is. It doesn't make sense to win a battle and loose a war. Mr ITK you seems to know it all don't you? Go read and understand the true meaning of "justice". The aim is not how much is being spent chasing after justice but for justice to take its real cause. No matter the case may be stealing is stealing no matter how little. The same penalty given to him that stole N500 is the same a judge will give to him that stole a billion dollar. Go scam a SAN of N1000 and see how he uses you as a specimen of the law. |

My pipu how una dey?
It has happened to me I please help me call this guy for my balance of N300.
This was exactly how it all happened on Friday night within 9/10pm at mande town in Maryland.
GBAM GBAM GBAM!!! Incoming req with 1.6 soji. I accepted request. Called rider. Me: hello n good evening, I made a request on taxify I'm presently on maxton. Rider: ok drive down n take next turn right put on your pointer I'll meet u up along the road.
Rider entered the front seat, just him. A gentle looking young guy btw the age of 28-34
Me: sup bro, how are you this Friday n where we heading to? Rider: men I was sleeping when I got a call to come out jor... Sheraton... Me: shuuu! Sleep ke so early on a friday night like this? Long story short...
Ended trip at the gate along the express road, rider was already stretching out N500 to me while I was trying to end trip but for some reason I didn't collect it, I wanted to see the fare amount first. amount was N800.
Rider: ha! N800!! What happened, I thought N500 as he gave me the money, I budgeted N500 and dont have any money on me right now. Ok let me transfer to you or better still send recharge card to your number. Me: ok, no p, please send to same number I called you will.
