Questions? Questions?
Politics / Re: Mutallab: Are We Really Meant To Believe A Father Would Report His Own Son! by femfem2000: 1:33pm On Dec 29, 2009
Bluetooth, thanks for the constructive response. In the press release on the other post, they stated quite clearly that the change in a behaviour was 'very recent'. So if a son has been expressing radical views in just the last few months, I am just questioning how a father would then quickly report his son just like that.

I don't mind him reporting that the son was missing but any father hoping that his son would change (especially after just a few month of wierd behaviour/views) wouldn't be quick to label him as a potential terrorist.

Just playing advocate.
Politics / Re: Mutallab: A Father's Patriotic Act. by femfem2000: 1:21pm On Dec 29, 2009
From the press release at the top of the post

"Prior to this incident, his father, having become concerned about his disappearance and stoppage of communication while schooling abroad, reported the matter to the Nigerian security agencies about two months ago, and to some foreign security agencies about a month and a half ago, then sought their assistance to find and return him home."

"The disappearance and cessation of communication which got his mother and father concerned to report to the security agencies are completely out of character and a very recent development, as before then, from very early childhood, Farouk, to the best of parental monitoring, had never shown any attitude, conduct or association that would give concern. As soon as concern arose, very recently, his parents reported it and sought help.

Where did it say he has been expressing radical view for years?

Sagamite practice what you preach.
Politics / Re: Mutallab: Are We Really Meant To Believe A Father Would Report His Own Son! by femfem2000: 1:11pm On Dec 29, 2009
Bluetooth, I appreciate your response. If a Father was willing to shop his own son for being a potential terrorist that should raise the seriousness of the issue to any good security agent. Most parent of potential terrorists do not report their own children and the security agencies know this. Hence, for a father to report his own son and then the security agency of the US put the boy on a lowrisk list and grant him a VISA is biggest conspiracy theory I've heard. It just doesn't add up.

If you as a father come to me to tell me that your son is a potential armed robber who has been looking to potentially raid my house, would I just enter it my diary or would I make some tougher security arrangements? The mere fact that you are his father and was willing to report your own son makes me take it a lot more seriously.
Politics / Re: Mutallab: A Father's Patriotic Act. by femfem2000: 1:01pm On Dec 29, 2009
Sagamite so a son of 23 years of good behaviour all of a sudden becomes useless after disppearing for 2 months.
Obviously the father musn't have trusted his 23years of bringing up his son.

They didn't speak to him in the period he changed so how did they know that he had become radicalised?

They only way I can believe this is if the parents had known about his radicalisation and plans BEFORE he disappeared and are now lying about him turning evil after disappearing.
Politics / Re: Mutallab: Are We Really Meant To Believe A Father Would Report His Own Son! by femfem2000: 12:51pm On Dec 29, 2009
Bluetooth, the US also told us that there were Weapons Of Mass Disappearance in Iraq in order to justify their war. We now know it was a blatant lie.

The US is not some pinnacle of truth. I don't believe things just because the US or UN or BBC said it. We've been told too many lies in the past. Just because they are Oyinbo doesn't mean they always tell the truth or at least the whole truth.

Politics / Re: Mutallab: A Father's Patriotic Act. by femfem2000: 12:41pm On Dec 29, 2009
Bluetooth, no one would deny their son after just 2 months of strange behaviour. Most would believe the 23years of good behaviour over 2 months of bad behaviour and hope the child would change. They wouldn't immediately call the authorities. This so called reporting of their son after just 2 months of disappearance just isn't adding up.

Politics / Re: Mutallab: Are We Really Meant To Believe A Father Would Report His Own Son! by femfem2000: 12:34pm On Dec 29, 2009
Sagamite, thanks for the compliment. It is obvious that you cannot engage is a simple discussion without turning to insults.

Did you even read what I wrote? It was just something to get us thinking beyond simply what we are being told.

Can you name any of your relatives or friends (or their friends/relatives) who you know pay bribes or are corrupt in any way who have been reported to the authorities by their own parents/uncles/friends?

Can you then tell me any of your friends or relatives who were reported to the authorities as potential bribe payers, or potential participator in corrupt acts?

I very much doubt it. How much more as a potential armed robber, murderer or terrorist? If he had disppeared for 2 months and didn't previously show any signs of being a radical islamists, then what would make his father report him as a potential terrorist. They hadn't spoken to him for 2 months.
Politics / Mutallab: Are We Really Meant To Believe A Father Would Report His Own Son! by femfem2000: 12:11pm On Dec 29, 2009
The Mutallabs are Nigerians. We are Nigerians as well. So we understand the Nigerian mindset.

Really guys and gals do you know any father or mother who would call the authorities on their own son EVENTHOUGH he hasn't even committed a crime? From the so called press release from the parents he went missing just 2 months ago. So a son goes missing and for two months and immediately you call the authorities to inform them that your son is now a potential terrorist? Guys and gals that is just rubbish!!!

Most parents (even non-Nigerians) don't even report their own children who are armed robbers, drug dealers or 419s. (And don't think I'm condoning it). Yet we are to believe that a parent whose reputation and family name would be on the line (as the chairman of an Islamic Bank), would call of all people the United States to say his son is a potential terrorist.

Even if one's son was showing some radical views, we would still try to reach him to convert him back. Reporting him means you would have completely given up on him, which I doubt many 'sane' parents wouldn't do quickly.

If their son went missing in Yemen/Dubai, why on earth would one call the United States (after all the bad treatment they dished at Iraq/Quantanamo, that even Obama wanted to shut it down) to then report your own son as a potentials terrorist? Would he want to lose his son to Guantanamo too? I doubt it. Once there, there's no coming out, no second chance.

Guys and gals we are Nigerians, let think as Nigerians and not how the media (CNN, BBC, etc and even the Nigerian media who just publish what the Western media tells them) want us to think.

This story of the father reporting his son to the US or any other authorities is just not adding up.

Busy Body, as long as we remember that the USA only care about themselves and their agenda, then we shouldn't trust them and the West. They only want our resources. Which is why they are trying any means necessary to set up Africom bases in Nigeria possibly using Niger Delta and now terrorism as the reason. They will say they are here to help us deal with our terrorism problems. As an American once said "If American offers to help you RUN!!!!!"

Cyberfreak, thank you jare. It seems some people don't even bother reading before regugitating what they've heard from CNN.

Even the Japanese Parliament has debated the unexplained/suspect issues surrounding 911 which started all this War On Terror stuff. Till today we haven't found the Weapons Of Mass Disappearance in Iraq. Yet people are still willing to believe the countries that lied to us all.

See the video of the Japanese opposition party raising questions about unexplained issues surrounding 911. Did any of you hear that on CNN, BBC, Sky etc early last year No!!!!!!!. No major newspaper, magazine or TV channel carried it. Even our African media didn't carry it as they all get their so called 'news' from Western sources.

For those of you who don't believe that the west have a depopulation agenda for Nigeria and Africa read the links below:

God woke me up from the matrix in early 2000 when he led me to the NSSM 200 report below written by Henry Kissenger and PResident Nixon. I was shocked that the USA could have written this and was more shocked when I saw Nigeria named in the report. Apparently too many young people in nigeria is something they didn't like. By the way, they never cancelled the plan which means it is still in operation. That is why they want to establish military bases in Africa under the guise of AFRICOM.

Have any of you ever wonder why with our high infant mortality rate and the so called low life expectancy of less than 50years, the West and the UN still keep pushing abortion( sorry Family Planning) and other means to reduce childbirth. If we are dying more than others, shouldn't we then be having more children. It only makes logical sense unless you're from the UN, Worldbank or IMF of course.
Nairaland / General / Uk Based Nigerians Travelling This Nov/dec/jan: Please Read This by femfem2000: 8:50am On Nov 06, 2009
I just got back from Heathrow Airport and I have to just vent my feelings.

I had gone to drop my sister who was travelling to Nigeria via KLM. Thank God I decided to
stick around. My sister had planned to pay the extra £40 to take one of her suitcases from
23kg limit to 32kg. This is what my Mum paid a few weeks ago. We had weighed our luggage at
home so we just expected to pay the £40 and check in as the other piece was within limit.
We got there and we were told that the charge had gone up to £92!!!!
Yes £92!!!. The silly attendant said it was due to inflation. I had to tell her quickly that
a 100% plus increase had absolutely nothing to do with inflation. I was tempted to say it was
just pure exploitation but I somehow kept my mouth.

We now had to go through the embarassment of repacking and moving her things from the 32kg
suitcase to her hand luggage. This is what we had wanted to avoid. Thankfully, my Sister had
taken her travel scale with her otherwise it would have been a nightmare as
there were no scales in sight.

The airlines have now seen this as another money making scheme. This time last year the charge
for luggage upgrade was about £25, at least on Virgin. How on earth did we get to £92?
And they know that this is going to disproportionately affect us Africans but I don't think
they care. Notice that they timed the increase just in time for the pre-christmas rush.

For those of you looking for a home/travel scale, we got ours from Amazon for less than £10.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/TravelRight-Luggage-Scale-Baggage-scale/dp/B002L28O26
Please guys, stick to the 23kg limit and weigh your luggage before going to the airport. The hassle, the embarassment and the cost is just not worth it. Spend that £92 buying something else for your family member
in Nigeria or just give them the cash (in pounds or Naira). That's better than giving it to KLM or any of the other airlines.

Romance / Re: Marriage Is A Beautiful Institution But Why The Break-ups ? by femfem2000: 11:54am On Jun 18, 2009
Marriages are failing for two big reasons are these:

1. Many people don't bother asking God BEFORE they start dating/marrying a person. I would think the best person to ask about whether or not you should date/marry a person would be the very God that created marriage. Just because the boy or girl ticks all the right boxes or is born again, doesn't mean he/she is the one for you. Everyone needs to find the rib that was taken out of them or the man they were taken out of. You can't join Tunde's rib to Femi and vice-versa. It won't work well.

2. Secondly, most people go into marriage without learning a single jot about what the bible says about marriage.
Many people go into it with a single person mindset and self centered mentality, when marriage is really about giving up yourself for your spouse. God created marriage and gave instructions of what a husband/wife should do but very people know it and even fewer practice it. Many go into marriage with ideas from their parents/friends marriages or worse still ideas from TV programmes and films. By the time of the honeymoon, the fairy tale is over. If it takes a medical doctor 5-6 yrs of training before he/she can even touch a patient, why then do we think we need no training about God's principles before entering marriage? It's like we think some type of wisdom will just drop into us when we say I do and instantly we will have all the skills to make a marriage work.

The simple fact is this, Marriage is of God and we can't do what is of God in our way.

The link below might be of help to the couple
http://www.dianedew.com/marriage.htm

I also know Daystar Church does 6 months premarital training. Maybe this might be of help the couple.

If you have friends abroad (UK or USA), get them to order the 13 Marriage Teachings from Andrew Wommack. The site is below. I ordered all 13 cds. It has been a tremendous help to me and to my friends in our marriages for us to learn what the Bible ACTUALLY says about marriage. I wish I had been given this earlier in my marriage, it would have saved us a lot of problems. Unfortunately we arent hearing much of this in churches nowadays.
I would recommend those of you who are single or engaged to listen to this teaching as well.
