Which chakra are the four feeling? Is it that of the person they're going to see or that of Naruto? Ihedinobi: An interesting analysis at narutobase (will try to find the link later) proves beyond reasonable doubt that the SO6P was Uzumaki. We also know that he sired both the Senju and the Uchiha. Those two things destroy the notion that the Byakugan morphed into the sharingan or the rinnegan. The old sage most likely got his rinnegan from the Juubi after he sealed it into his body. The Byakugan may have been a variant of the Sharingan or it may just have been an independent ocular power.

it's plausible ya know....cos as the juubi has a sharingan and a rinnegan co-joined, isn't it possible that he acquired the most dominant of the eye while the other came out in the future?? I've always thought about that....then again, this sharingan descending from the byakugan, I've always had my doubt about that theory too.....let's just watch how things go cos I know at the end, kishi would explain how the three eyes came about....especially his rinnegan.....
