And all the major fighting happened AFTER not before the US had occupied all of South Vietnam in 1965...
Nothing Russia does is going to convince the Ukrainians...

In Ukraine today there is serious resistance from the beginning..together with millions of refugees...
There is going to be a nasty and prolonged guerilla war rather like Afghanistan or Vietnam... The Russian economy will become a dependent rump state of China.. isolated from the rest of the World as during the height of the Cold War...

Putin has fatally miscalculated in launching this operation..now the consequences for Russia are only starting...

He can occupy cities and make Ukraine suffer and force millions of refugees into permanent exile but he cannot really conquer... He has no exit strategy...It’s going to cost more money and more economic suffering than Russia can afford...watch and see how it plays out..
