Blogging in Nigeria is now something else. Many of our bloggers parading themselves as Entertainment Bloggers are nothing but soft porn bloggers and liars. Many of the so called successful bloggers on facebook are not worth emulation and celebrating. That is why when I saw that guy called Donvin celebrating a new car, I'm just shaking my head. Those guys should never be celebrated. They are one of the problems we have in our society today (including in the blogosphere -as Adsense now raise a brow for Nigerians)

Look at this guy who own gistmelove. The guy will come to nairaland to claim a Professional Entertainmemt Blogger. But on facebook, they create secret pages where they carry out their misdoings.

Guest post is a great way to build relationship with other bloggers in the same niche, but what I have realized is that most bloggers that send in guest post request are just after the link, they just send in a low quality and a poorly written article, most times I had to personally rewrite guest post articles and add content to increase the word count cos I don't like publishing articles below 1500 words on my blog.

Bloggers abuse the opportunity and I have made up my mind that after I publish the guest post currently with me, any subsequent guest post that I will accept must meet some stringent criteria otherwise I will just apply the delete button on it. So when it comes to guest post, it should be a win win situation for both parties.

What you are saying is absolutely correct... but quality articles does not only depend on higher word counts. The main thing is passing the right information to the right audience at the right time.

Come to think of it, If you are writing 2000 words to impress Google, how many people will spend a whole day reading that article when they have few seconds to scan through the information they need. This is okay if you are writing expert roundups, resourced base articles or you already have an audience that like to read long essays . Otherwise there will be high bounce rate and may hurt your SEO too.

So it all depends...

Let's say you writing an article on "how to transfer money via ATM" it will be quite a waste of time to digest the article with irrelevant details. Like such article, 350 words will do.

Some blogger, especially new ones make this mistakes by writing to impress the search engines. I think you should be natural without thinking like a robot that is following an automated instructions when performing a task.

Yes, long articles are okay for SEO but also consider the reading behavior of your readers. They are the main reason why you are publishing the post in the first place.

For my guest post... I only publish quality articles because my name "Ifiokobong Ibanga" is attributed to it wherever I published them. So low quality works will never say any good about me.

There, I put my whatsapp number for people to start a chat with me. One they commence the chat, I automatically add them into a well labelled broadcast list. Each broadcast list contain 256 members. So you will create as many broadcast list as possible if you have large customer base.

After adding them to the broadcast group, I started sending them tip and reasons why they should get the past questions to prepare for their exam. I also send them excerpts from my blog tell them to read more on the blog. This strategy increased my web traffic 20%.

How I made the sales...
The constant communications with them stimulates trust and familiarity which encouraged them to trust me. With this trust, they find the need to buy the products from me.

I also created groups on whatsapp an appointed moderators to talk about my products.

I used this strategy to build up to 12k whatsapp subscribers. It was not easy to do it but it pays.

The advantages of this is that its totally free and your message delivery and open rate remains 99% unlike traditional email marketing or bulk SMS that requires money to send messages with no guarantee of high open rate.

So what causes increase in sales?
(1) Increase open rate
(2) Trust as a result of familiarity
(3) High frequency in communication because its easy to use and its free.

New affiliate marketers often make the mistake (don't worry I did this too at first) of thinking that sending more traffic to affiliate offers instantly = more sales. But really, increase in traffic = more sales (if sales is properly optimized).

So you focus ONLY on trying to get more traffic.

Now more traffic IS obviously a good thing

However before you go about acquiring new traffic there are 3 stupidly simple little things you can and should be doing first to increase your affiliate sales.

With strategies, you can still make sales even with low traffic.

I used these strategies to make $3,000 from commission junction with my new blog with only 120+ unique visitors and below 300 page-views everyday.

And increasing your affiliate sales means more income, less work, the ability to pay all your bills and eventually quitting your dreaded J-O-B....


1. Work on your conversions.
If your conversion rate is 0% no amount of traffic in the world is going to change that - it will still be 0%.

So start testing things, i.e. position of buy buttons / affiliate link, headlines, call to action, content of posts etc.

Work on getting that as high as you possibly can and you'll make more sales without having to constantly be focusing on traffic.



2. Create more content around your high converting offers.

Let's say you created a blog post reviewing a product and it converted into sales at 5%.

That shows you this is a high converting offer that people want to buy.

Why only have 1 piece of content about this product? Create more.


If you already did a review then create a case study showing it in action.

Talk about what else you can do with it in another post.

Create emails about it and add to your follow up series.

This offer is a proven high converter and it makes no sense to just have 1 single post or email about it.

Get creating more content on it and you'll see even more sales come in from your existing traffic.



3. Show your existing audience your high converting content more.

Again let's say you've got a review post on your blog that converts at 5%.

A lot of your existing traffic will have seen that post but a lot won't have especially if you have a lot of content on your blog.

So make sure you are constantly linking back to that high converting content from other posts.

Make it a featured post on your home page or in the side bar.

Create multiple emails for your email follow up series that link back to it.

Not only will you make sure that more of your audience see it but you'll be exposing people to it more often which is proven to increase the likely hood of them buying.

The same applies to any high converting emails you have - duplicate them and use them further down the follow up series.

People miss emails or are too busy to take action - give them more than more chances.

Also use the same emails but with different headlines that appeal to people who didn't open the original email.

Re-mail people who opened / clicked to give them a second chance to buy.

Re-email people who did NOT open with new headlines

I use this tactic on my new new blog and can sometimes DOUBLE my open and click rate with something that takes just 2 minutes to do.

Write new emails around the same offer with a different approach.

This all increases the chance of your existing audience buying from you and will skyrocket your conversion rates and sales.


Then here's what you do next...

Once you have all 3 of these factors in place THEN ramp up your traffic generation methods.

There is no way you will have new visitors even you don't update your blog regularly. People always want to come and see new things and not the old infos. Even Linda Ikeji publishes more than 30 articles everyday. That's how is works.

This is a step-by-step guide to generate web traffic to your blog or website using the new method. I call it - Google Traffic Pump System.
You will use this system to pum massive targeted traffic from Google in about 15 minutes.
