Politics / Attempted Attack On The Life Of The Speaker: Chief Mrs Nkem Okwuofu Fingered by festusijomoni: 8:19pm On Nov 03, 2013
The Act of Desperation: Attempted Attack on the life of the Speaker as Chief Mrs Nkem Okwuofu is fingered.

The last have not been heard about the attempted attack on the life of the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly and Gubernatorial Aspirant Rt. Hon. Engr. Victor Ochei.

The bomb blast took place on Friday morning at a reception ceremony put together by a political group in honor of the Speaker of DTHA Rt Hon Victor Ochei at the Obomkpa community hall.

Hon. Ochei, on a routine familiarisation and thank-you tour of his Aniocha North Constituency, had barely finished exchanging pleasantries with his supporters at the Eke Market square venue, when a loud explosion and its attendant smoke threw the crowd into pandemonium.
All though the Speaker escaped by whiskers as he was still exchanging pleasantries when the bomb went off. An eye witness account reports that a young lady by name Ms Perpetual Damasus ,an Asaba born PA to Bishop Ken Ebolum of Dominion Christian Center,Asaba was severely affected.

The Speaker had not taken his seat immediately on arrival, as he was busy exchanging greetings when the canon, ignited and propelled from the rear on trajectory to his seat on the front row, was inhibited by chairs which, even though were shattered, provided some cushioning effect. It was also gathered that the explosives were wrapped in white satin materials, which made detection impossible, as the chairs and tables were also decorated in white materials. The lady victim sat directly behind the Chair meant for the Hon. Speaker. The victim was taken to the Delta State University Teaching Hospital, Oghara where Doctors are battling to save her life as her leg was seriously shattered in the explosion.

According to police sources, one suspect John Oyibo Achuzia Ijeh a cousin to Chief Mrs Nkem Okwuofu has been arrested in connection with the incident and under police interrogation as at time of this report has confessed that he was instructed to carry out the act by Chief Mrs Nkem Okwuofu an indigene of Obomkpa who was alleged to have threatened the Speaker not to come to her community.

Chief Mrs Nkem Okwuofu popularly called Agu Nwanyi is currently Chairman of the Delta State Local Government Service Commission is believed to have a very soured and unhealthy relationship with Rt Hon Victor Ochei. It has been reported severally how Chief Okwuofu tampers with Local Government funds.

This act of intolerance and threat to life must be condemned by all and sundry and I urge all men of goodwill to call for her arrest and prosecution.

The Delta State Government has built over 18,000 Class rooms since the inception of this administration. The State has the highest number of Primary and Secondary Schools in the country with also the highest number of enrollments in public schools. The Government has also embarked on the construction of World CLass Model Schools across the 3 Senatorial Districts as a follow up to the increasing number of enrollments in the state Public Schools. The State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education has adopted 40 students and Pupils in a class in order to ensure conducive learning atmosphere. The Government has also promised to employ more teachers to meet up with the increasing capacity being created.
Kudos to the Delta State Government even as we encourage the Government to look into infrastructures that requires urgent attention across the state.

I have observed that people hardly appreciate anything done by the govt. They tend to view it from several perspectives. Let it be known today that Dr Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan is rated highly in the transport sector. He has assured that the roads will be fixed in due course to compliment the vehicles. The vehicles will be managed by seasoned transporters and I can assure you that since 2008, we have had a very thriving, comfortable and the cheapest transport scheme in Delta via the initiative of the Governor. Join me in giving him kudos for this.

Politics / Re: FLOOD: My Horrifying Encounter With Victims- Gov Uduaghan by festusijomoni: 11:29am On Oct 21, 2012
Guys I live n Delta and. Kow what am saying. The Governor may not have performed to our expectations but he has done marvelously well as far as the flood matter is concerned. Am sure many IDPs will attest to the fact that they are being well taken care of by the State Government as well as well meaning Organisations and Philantropists. The N500 million donated by the Federal Government is yet to be disbursed because the Committee headed by Justice Francis Tabai (JSC) rtd is yet to come out with the modalities for the disbursement. Let's join hands with Government to provide hope and succor to the displaced persons.

Politics / Re: Uduaghan Might Join Ibori By 2015. by festusijomoni: 3:22am On Oct 12, 2012
You may have some good points but saying Uduaghan might join Ibori is very sarcastic statement because you do not have any tangible reason to indict him of financial misappropriation. However the Governor has done very well in some areas like transportation, health care, education micro credit, job creation and empowerment. His peace and security is working even though there are some kidnappings in the state, armed robbery is gradually waning in Delta State.
I urge you to contribute your quota to the development of our dear state by bringing to the knowledge of government any thing you feel should have been done well so that it can be corrected. Thank you.
