I believe that by sharing my experience here others will learn and adapt as necessary. My name is Niel and i go by this in the Mi community forum on WhatsApp, Niel (Wkth a Rose) on Telegram and I used to go by 'IamNegro' here on Nairaland.


On April 24th or so, I was robbed at gun point and in the middle of the robbery I was forced to drop my phone, the password and my SIM pin.

I thought it would end there as I had deposited the last money on me in my crypto Wallet after heavy losses to fraud February/March. I was not heavily worried about the repurcussion of my stolen phone and passwords.

I got home and i tried to access my Google account to track the phone, but it kept asking for a verification code to be sent to my SIM as proof I was the rightful owner of the account. I tried using laptops I had used in the past but I still got the same feedback.

In the middle of my mental chaos I forgot that there was something like a Mi account. I tried the next day to log in to my Mi account but I was denied access. After my Sim retrieval earlier in the day, I tried accessing my Gmail account and I got the devastating news that my account password has been changed.

Swiftly, I tried to retrieved the account, but I kept receiving replies from Google that I am not seen as the owner of the account. My account recovery was removed, 2 factor authentication was removed and my Mi account was changed. Google support informed me that the account is lost.

The losses I incurred with the loss of my Google account was massive and I do not know how to quantify the loss because I lost everything you can think of.

Access to vital accounts, job applications in advanced stages, scholarships applications, freelancing gigs applications, quality contacts,different portfolios, etc.

Genius43 and OlayinkaJnr should be able to confirm my identity in the Mi community group chat on WhatsApp.

It is never going to be easy starting afresh, but as long as there is life, there is always the belief that this is just a phase.

You did, maybe you didn't read through the shipping options very well. There are usually 3 options at check out, NIPOST, HOME AND PICKUP STATION.

NIPOST is the cheapest and it is usually the default shipping method.

My RN10 Pro always stop browsing when my data goes below 50Mb. Is it just me or MTN doesn't do businesses with Redmi?

It's all phones, at least from my experience. I don't use a xiaomi phone but still experience same on my phone when my data is running out.

I won't buy any item shipped from abroad on Jumia ever again. I have got 3 bad experiences. The last of them was accessories that I bought from them on January 13.
It arrived Nigeria on 5th February. Till date, I have not seen the accessories. I contacted them on twitter but they replied me that they've fulfilled their part of the business. The remaining part is for Nipost....

I am currently using Tecno charger bought from normal market, very slow. Hope it will not spoil the phone.

You don't necessarily need the OEM charger, get quality charger from jboixxx and gidieberry.

Tempered glasses are not the same. There's a reason why some are classified as premium; it's not just packaging but features and qualities. Those that have used Nillkin glasses can testify.

Nillkin tempered glasses are in grades too.

Exactly I always go for the plus pro, the one with 0.26mm thickness. Smooth like butter.

But the bottom line is glass breaks, was why I said even if it's victus which is the best CGG out there, e go still break. Handle your phones with care and invest in quality accessories.

Even if it's gorilla glass victus, always use a tempered glass to avoid stories. Glass is glass and they break.
