kikuyu1:Westlands is just a construction zone these days, I was also there last month and I remember thinking if I don't visit the place often enough pretty soon I might start asking for directions next time i am there cause the place would have completely changed.. I especially like how these days you find satellite cities and neighborhoods being built up everywhere .. This is the way to go, have some mini towns around the metro area so that people work in the city but live in these neighborhoods where they have access to open fresh air! |
samorobo:Hahaha, Caught in a lie, redhanded !!! That flood video was from one deadly flood which i screenshot while the ones where people where carrying buckets to fetch water was from peponi road westlandErrr, But the image is no where near Nairobi as I have shown... True of False ![]() And the video link of westlands that you got this screenshot www.nairaland.com/attachments/9983875_screenshot20190712002629_jpeg08c450f714303f4c6bf5013710a549f2 Right before that moment in that video, They show some bulldozer on the left side and then as they approach that place It says right there on the screen that "Ring road parkland under construction" But you chose to ignore that information, As soon as those letters disappeared you took the screenshot purportedly showing "bare gravel roads in Westlands" when you knew very well that that place was under construction.. Now why would you do that rookie mistake, Were you just counting on me never counter checking?? And the two ladies carrying buckets, they were swinging the buckets so that means they were empty! How you concluded that they were going to fetch water, that is from your own imagination. They could have been coming from the market having bought the buckets, They could have been street hawkers selling cut pineapples wrapped in polythene or water melon from the buckets... etc So please try herder next time, don't be so obvious when you try and trick people. Cause that was cheap. I am sure you wont want me to start taking cheap shots of Lagos by trying to trick you. screenshot from the same video showing clearly that that road was under construction
|
samorobo:And BTW, The fist pic, That dome shaped building is called "One Africa Place" its a bulding that finished construction this year, when they were finishing construction , the city decided to add another lane from both sides of that building.. Thats what you see, a clearing of pavements to cater for an extra pedestrian lane... Now that they are finishing up, you can see from the bellow pic, the road on the left of the building is brand new , You can also see city in the background https://i.imgur.com/ky7wWxH.jpg https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1915/30240883917_d30b3dbe2e_b.jpg And this pic that you showed some vehicle purportedly capsized in Nairobi CBD www.nairaland.com/attachments/9983876_screenshot20190712223027_jpeg462f2e6cbccc1d5e3673d9f8ddf8d692 Common dude, I know there are bad images of Nairobi CBD that can easily be found on the internet.. But I did'nt expect you to start playing tricks this early.. You post some close up image and claim its in the CBD when its in some village more than 100km away. Here are some wide angles of the same image... Does that look like Nairobi, let alone the CBD to you ![]()
|
samorobo:that's it, really!!!? After all the hyping you going to bring me some poor screeshots of what you call "CBD", please give me some more, give me everything you have !!! |
kikuyu1:That's my take, or what do you think? |
samorobo:more blah blah blah boring , why don't you bring it already, if you going to use some videos then use the damn videos instead talking about them in every comment . I would take becoming a joke worldwide any day over becoming a joke to your fellow Africans !!! That's like being laughed at when you walking around in the streets out there by people who don't really know you Vs finally coming home to your house at the end of the day and bieng ridiculed by your own wife/husband and kids IN YOUR OWN HOUSE! |
samorobo:Please spare me the bull$hit, Your city don't even come a close 2nd, most of the Nigerians you see here in Nairobi attest to that! The places in Nairobi you call a disgrace host more international conferences than any of your cities.... If the city was a disgrace it would NOT have been able to get hosting rights to anything if the city was dirty or had poor roads or congested airports bad food...etc And BTW, when I talked about you guys being mocked I specifically said Africans not the rest of the world...... It is very rare to find any African using Nigeria as an example when it comes to development or making progress as a country, Infact I remember there was a reginal conference I attended in Rwanda back in 2017 when one of the speakers used Nigeria as an example of how not to do things and everyone was laughing! Thats how much of a joke you are to the rest of Africa! |
Fidha254:kikuyu1 , Finally found a vid that shows the helo up -close, excuse the quality https://i.imgur.com/sWTw8i2.png https://i.imgur.com/iK5D47F.png at first I thought it was the old SA330 Puma that we have 7 units https://imgproc.airliners.net/photos/airliners/6/8/2/1932286.jpg?v=v40 But the SA330 has only 4 side windows, So after a little googling on the variants of the Puma, https://www.airvectors.net/avpuma_06.png https://www.airvectors.net/avpuma_07.png I think its the Airbus H215M or H225 which we currently don't have https://www.airvectors.net/avpuma_08.jpg https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DQh2sasUMAEiAIm.jpg |
samorobo:You forgot that we also know how to google, I can also show you the real Nigeria in less than 6 minutes, Nigeria got nothing on Kenya. You guys aare just loud mouth but reality is everyone is laughing at you.... I mean Do you know of any citizens from any African country that use Nigeria as an example when they are are talking about development ![]() |
Logobenz0:In one swoop I have showed you evidence while you still loud mouthing here with nothing to show for it, Your brothers and sisters are dying in the 1,000s in the ocean trying to cross to Europe, go help them please, I watched that Vice News documentary on Imigrants crossing the mediterrerian sea and I was really shocked to see 95% of them migrated from just one country.... You know yourselves |
Logobenz0:There are over 2,000 Nigerians in Lybia's illigal cells while you here posting bulshit when we all know Nigerians in Europe lead in prostitution https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=3&v=_MpfDgkSDVI https://www.timeslive.co.za/news/africa/2018-09-30-nigerian-migrants-rescued-after-libya-cell-video-goes-viral/ Roughly 11,000 Nigerian women arrived in Italy in 2016. For many, such as the woman above, sexual slavery awaited.https://qz.com/africa/1224108/recruited-from-nigeria-to-be-a-computer-technician-then-forced-into-prostitution-in-italy/ |
edon21:Plenty of other pics to see, Infact I will remove that one so you dont find more excuses |
samorobo:What CBD are you talking about? Our so called CBD is 90% government buildings... Is this the one you are referring to?? The real Central Business District that makes money for Nairobi is Between Upper Hill District or Westlands District, One of these days, the one you call CBD is probably going to be officially renamed to Old CBD. Anyway , here are some of the bad roads you are referring to in the CBD https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rG4ilyEMrP4
|
theenchanter:So what were you going about when you said that we have only one recognizable city while you have "many" if there is really no point as you say! |
samorobo:And perhaps you have forgotten that your population is 4 time bigger !!! An urban place like Lagos needs enough roads for 22 million people, while A place like Nairobi needs roads for atmost 4 million... And that is why we rank higher than you in both quality of infrastructure index and logistics index even if you have more roads in absolute measurement. It's like saying you have more airports and supporting infrastructure than us, while that could be true, it's also true that you have bigger population than us, but when it comes to ranking of airport index, don't start crying when you find our airports bieng ranked higher than yours for having better infrastructure, less delays, more accommodating..etc. Our relatively small infrastructure support our relatively small population, does your relatively large infrastructure support your relatively large population ![]() |
AskiaHarem:Sometimes if you don't have anything to say, just keep quiet (just like I have been watching this thread for a long time without commenting much) , atleast ppl will think you are smart! |
edon21:And what criteria are you using to call yours a city? Lagos population is about 22 Million! That is half of the whole of Kenya's population in just one city.... At that rate you are bound to have more cities as you keep on popping more babies by the seconds ... But what is the quality of life in those cities The town I live in in Kenya has not attained city status, but we have 5 star hotel, malls, Cinemas(more than one) , good schools, excellent roads, no traffic jams (for the most part), international conference center.. Uniterrupted electricity supply, good hospitals,..and the environment is fresher than in the big cities .. Everything and anything you can imagine finding in the city (except maybe a big stadium) , I can find it in the town I live in, I don't have to go to city to experience them, even the global fast-food brands like SubWay and KFC you can find them in my town ... So if the only criteria you are goin to use is regonization then keep celebrating your 'cities' for being 'recognised'. |
obaaderemi:You should have looked at the criteria used in the ranking first before making that comment..... Environment was just one factor, other levels of measurements are health care, infrastructure, Education... And we beat you and them in those areas! |
Lagos third least liveable city according to World bank study , the only countries they beat are war-torn countries .. https://www.nairaland.com/5337082/lagos-now-ranks-war-torn#80871142 |
So $700m can get you only like 1000 missiles And in just 10 intense days you could waste all that money into your enemy...Man, War is freaking expensive! The Indian Air Force (IAF) has signed deals with Russia worth about USD700 million for an additional 1,000 air-to-air missiles (AAMs) to arm its fleets of MiG and Sukhoi combat aircraft. Military sources in New Delhi said the missiles were being acquired under the Ministry of Defence’s (MoD’s) 10-I (Intense) provision, which mandates that all three military services stockpile ammunition and stores for 10 days of “intense warfare”.https://www.janes.com/article/90192/india-signs-usd700-million-deal-with-russia-for-1-000-additional-air-to-air-missiles |
Baliv254:as far as I can tell, the Huey looks like its for New Zealand air-force, but the guys you see are black and those kind of specialized teams can carry rifles that are not standard issue, So maybe EMW01 who brought the pic can tell us more on where he found the photo |
EMW01:So that was the helo I was asking Kikuyu1 about the other day when I saw a model of it at the office of the airforce commander.. Fidha254:www.nairaland.com/attachments/9862104_kafhq_jpegfec8bd1187d8b1188d8a4a8f9fb736c6 www.nairaland.com/attachments/9906604_airforce_jpegd222275204a98938d653eab1699616b9 Is it ours? That black circle insignia is not the typical KAF insignia |
Third visit by Kenya Army commander to KDF troops in Somalia, and he seems generally keen in listening to the views of the boots on the ground. I hope is cooking up something ![]()

nemesis8u:Got it, Russia will never ToT the S400 given how the Americans are obsessed(More like afraid) with it... Maybe after 10 years when the S500 comes online.. When you think about it the ToT that the turks were to get from the f-35 program would have been priceless, now they have gone back to being just another client with the Russians if they go for the Su-35 . But who knows, maybe after missing out on the f-35 they will use that butt hurt as motivation to start their own new thing where they will have more control like what Pakistan got from the JF-17 program. |
nemesis8u:I posted a vid showing how Trump was openly talking about the whole Turkey thing (That Turkey really wanted the Patriot system and the US refused multiple times so they went and got the Russian System....etc) , and all you saw was the medium that was used and not the message ![]() |
Hey kikuyu1:I know you love them conspiracies https://imgproc.airliners.net/photos/airliners/9/0/1/4427109.jpg?v=v44171e571a6 Inside the Office of the commander of the Kenya Airforce.. Black arrow: Is that the AT-802 isn't such a display supposed to be of planes that you have in your arsenal, not planes that you are waiting deliveries.. Or do you know anything I don't ??Blue Arrow: that lookes like some kind of light attack helo, I would have said its a Huey but that's the wrong cammo Purple arrow: Is that a drone? can you make the type drone, Thats not the shape of the Scan eagle drones that we have Unrelated : The kid in the pic Elias Muthomi is a 2 year old kid with photographic memory and can Identify and name alot of aircrafts start watching from min 3 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8nueAfJl3ic
|
The one thing I have come to admire about Trump though is that he has a big mouth and he says whatever he is thinking, which means you can have an honest conversation with him (Just watch the Video) and he will be willing to make a win-win deal. ... So you can't rule out some form of future negotiation between Turkey and US That will allow Turkey to still corporate with US outside of the F-35 Program. As for now Turkey is Suspended from the F-35 Program but not yet removed.. Anything can happen between now and then. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SuYehJpCHOQ |
DanDeeBoss:The reason why there are no young pilots in kenya is because Kenyan pilots are being hired by other countries especially in the middle east where they keep on being poached by Middle Eastern airlines after Kenya having done all the work in investing in the training of new pilots , the new pilots work on Kenyan airline for 2-5 years then after gaining some commercial flight hours a company like Emirates comes and offeres them triple the pay and in dollars to work in a world class airline, an offer that no one in their right mind would refuse... ---_----_-_- 130 pilots left Kenya Airways (KQ) to Middle East airlines in just one year for greener pastures, the Kenya Airline Pilots Association (KALPA) has said. The departure of the 130 pilots leaves the carrier with 430 pilots, a deficit of 200 pilots according to KALPA. This puts to question reports by KQ that its pilots are the best paid in Africa. KQ CEO Sebastian Mokosz said a better chunk of the national carrier’s income goes to pilots’ pockets. |
Daverytimes:First and 2nd productions cal be expected to be shoddy, but with each new version you can expect they will get better at it especially if the introduce computer Aided Designs.. The first Mobius vehicle (Not 100% Kenyan) designed in Kenya looked like a cartoon character. The 2nd one was much better but still lacked that wow factor https://kenyacarbazaar.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/1462598_638957319490188_1293272394_o-e1483095217998-745x420.jpg But the 3rd version is looking like a real contender....... 5-10 years from now those Nigerian engineering will be on a different level from what it is now,And the countries like mine that don't have anything but keeps laughing at other countries shoddy designs will still be importing from foreign countries and loosing jobs and Forex exchange. Third version of the Mobius car

For a while now a contingent of KDF doctors have been conducting Free surgeries plus other diagnostic medical treatments to around 2,000 patients at Rwamagana Provincial Hospital in Rwanda as a part of a defense military cooperation strategy to build trust with Rwanda and also among EAC community members. At on point in the future, a Rwandan team will also be allowed to do the same in Kenya.
