Romance / Re: Should I Marry A Woman Who Is Not From My Tribe? - Diary Of A Jobless Nigerian by fidrach(m): 1:42pm On Apr 29, 2016
If you are coming from a country where parameters of living standard is high e.g. stability of economy, socio-cultural diversity, education, security etc then it will make sense to marry from any tribe into that country. But if you are a citizen of unstable country like ours where there is do much division along ethnic lines it does not worth it and if care is not taken that marriage might collapse in future.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: How I Messed Up Job Interview Today... Please Learn! by fidrach(m): 12:20am On Feb 06, 2016
I had a similar experience close to this one. During the course of interview with one of the popular FMCG, I've answered all the questions thrown at me well, we negotiated salary to which the company agreed. ''One more question'' the employer said- can you work in any part of the country?
Me: Yes of course, I'm flexible.
Employer: Even in Maiduguri, Borno state?
Me: Pursed for a while, then continued... due to insurgency in the northern part of Nigeria, I would not like to work in the north but any where from middle belt down to southern Nigeria I would be ready to go.
Employer: Ok, we would get back to you.
After a period of two weeks or thereabout, the employer called me and said actually they were looking for someone that would work in the north, however, my cv was kept in their database for future opportunity in the south when they would contact me while in reality the job location was here in Lagos. msh

Career / Re: Needs Guide On How To Lodge A Formal Complaint by fidrach(m): 6:03pm On Jul 07, 2015
Where you are going to find it difficult is simply because your boss is a female. Female bosses most times are emotional. As a result, tend to be mean or strict on anyone they hate. You shouldn't have allowed your colleague to report the matter to her in the first place. Don't be too masculine when dealing with your female boss, play cool like a nice boy and hide your manly behaviors, most especially follow her emotional and be soft to her. Avoid gossips with your fellow workers or colleagues as you don't know who is spying you.Work and communicate well with your colleagues. Always do your job diligently and believe me you are going to win back her emotions. In summary emotional intelligence is what you need. Don't allow whatever they say get to you, just behave as if is water poured on a rock and don't put your mind in negative statements they direct at you especially your boss. This way you will build resistance to her negative talks and this will even make her like you more. Always be positive and make positive statements. In a situation whereby you don't understand instructions given to you by your boss, don't hesitate to ask her politely for clarification. After putting all these measures and she still behaves rudely to you, report her to higher authority or Human Resources Manager of your company or Employer/Employee Relations Manager. You can even demand transfer to another section or department of your company.

Sports / Re: Sani Kaita Declared Missing by fidrach(m): 5:17pm On Jul 07, 2015
Kaita again! His actions does not show his man enough. How could he abscond after their football match in port Harcourt? Wasn't it the same Kaita's action that made us to lose at the world cup when he kicked player for tackling him and he was red carded? This man called Kaita needs to grow up by setting his record straight. It seems he doesn't learn from past mistakes.

Health / Re: Question, Myths, And Answers On Seminal Fluid(sperm) by fidrach(m): 6:52am On Mar 07, 2015
During sex, when a woman reaches orgasm first before the man there are high chances that the male sperm cell Y-chromosome gets to the egg faster without many of them dying off in their way to the ovum. This is because the sperm cells survive well in alkaline environment. Woman's womb or body system is acidic in nature and kills off sperm cells both X and Y chromosomes when a woman does not reach her orgasm first before the man's orgasm.

Religion / Re: Rev. Omolade's Response To Okotie's Catholic Statement by fidrach(m): 6:12pm On Dec 05, 2013
Precise and accurate answer for pastor chris' controversial statement about Catholic church. But I pity his church members who he has been misleading all these while. I think the history about catholic church is quite clear and nothing is hidden about it. Research and get to know the truth for the Bible (word of God = God) says my people suffer because of ignorance (lack of knowledge). I thank the Catholic priest for his good answer because the Bible quotations he gave has opened my eyes the more and widened my knowledge about Catholic Church.
Sports / Re: Nigeria Vs Ethiopia- WCQ (2 - 0) On 16th November 2013 by fidrach(m): 5:43pm On Nov 16, 2013
I think N.F.F. should arrange a football match between super eagles and Golden eaglets ( the champions of u-17 2013) to determine who actually is superb. The outcome of which will tell both the organizers and coaching crew the real stars to be chosen for FIFA WC in Brazil next year. 2014.

Culture / Re: Why Is Nigerian Society So Damn Corrupt? by fidrach(m): 12:01pm On Jul 05, 2008
Our corrupt leaders are busy embezzling and looting the nation's treasury. sad
forgetting most basic needs in the country. Now, corruption is in the minds of Nigerians.
Everything in 9ja is inadequate; think of water, electricity, education, industries etc embarassed
In fact, majority of Nigerians are suffering untold hardship caused by our selfish and
greedy leaders.
Come to think of it oo, no government in the history of the world has been able
to satisfy needs of mankind.
We have to work hard and don't put trust in any leaders or government and
by so doing we will attain our objectives in life. wink

Nairaland / General / Re: This Is Not Funny by fidrach(m): 7:01pm On Jun 12, 2008
Yeah pip lord, u are right. This is common among illiterate Nigerians, sorry 2 say that.
This is b/c I know of one rich man, he was busy pursuing wealth. And he died some years
back b/c of hepatitis. He neglected his body and did not go for check up until the ailment
ate deep into his system. Then at the late hour both doctor and nurses in one of popular
hospitals where he was admitted could not treat and get him alive, he gave up the ghost.  sad

Another factor that can determine this ugly trend is poverty. U see, Nigerians are suffering,
I mean large population of Nigerians are living in abject poverty. The gap between the rich
and the poor is so wide that majority of Nigerians can not afford three square meal per day
not to talk of examining their body or going for medical check up. This is the main reason why
it is only during emergency that u see affected people running helter skelter for help. cry

I believe that God is Wisdom and Love. He has giving us His Words in the Bible
to enable us know priority things in our lives. wink

Nairaland / General / Re: Greatness, The Way. by fidrach(m): 4:43pm On Jun 07, 2008
Greatness is not measured by amount of things in ones possession
or having fat bank account, hence, not wealthiness. A great man is
an inventor, philanthropist, industrialist, employer of labour, etc who
better lives of mankind by inculcating values, discipline and fear of GOD
in them. Moreover, impacting knowledge for positive development of
mankind.
  But greatness goes with wealthiness,recognition,integrity,
richness and all other goodies of life.
Ill gotten wealth by a man does not mean that he is a great man
though he is a wealthy man.
Career / Can Somebody Help Me Please! by fidrach(m): 6:36pm On Mar 17, 2008
I studied mechanical engineering. When we were in school it wasn't easy. Now I'm out of school, got employed and receiving fat pay but the stress remains. I don't even have much time to take care of myself. I'm now cogitating whether to change this career or change my place of employment. But I like mech. eng. Can somebody advise me please.
