If one should have a 18tn truck, how much return do you think he/she can get from it in a month or monthly?

I can tell you categorically that 3million will not even get you a good truck with up to 18tn capacity.

One thing about haulage business is that people outside always wrongly assume that once you buy a truck you will just sit down in your house and money from the truck business will start piling up in your bank account. This is not true!

If you don't have a tough skin and you don't like taking risks then haulage business is definitely not for you

Just my little knowledge about the discussing issue, I have friends who are really into haulage business. I see them working daily, I still see many who are not friends, just passer by whom I do asked question, simply because I am interested in the business possibly after retirement.
Well, I wouldn't know the size and the capacity the op is referring to as 3m value truck, but I do know that with 18tn truck you can possibly make more than that in a week, going by information I gathered from friends who are really into the business full time.
I know of a guy that run Lagos to Portharcourt and make two trips per week. From his testimony, he is paid 220k per trip (Lagos to PH) and he usually get load from PH to Onitsha where he proceed back to Lagos.
I still have one elderly man who run Onitsha to Portharcourt, he usually passes through my checking point day in, day out. When I asked him how much he is paid per trip, he told me 120k but agent will collect 10k, agbero will also collect 10k. That any how it is, after all road expences, ranging from gas to police settlement, to and from he usually come home with 120k to 150k per trip.

A truck of around 3 million is only suitable for transporting manufactured or packaged items from manufacturers to the warehouses/shops of major distributors.

The best you can hope for is to station it close to the manufacturing plant of any of the major manufacturers such as Flour Mills,
Promasidor, Nestle, De-United Foods etc and use it to lift goods for distribution to their customers. There is no way you will make up to 400K in a month because this niche is very competitive.

If you really want to make money in haulage then you should be looking at transporting sand for landfill projects along the Lekki-Epe axis , granite, gravel, feldspar, laterite etc to companies such as Dangote Refinery at Ibeju-Lekki, road construction projects, CNG Glass at Ogun Free Trade Zone, Crown Ceramics etc.

To do this successfully you need a truck of minimum capacity 30 tons which you can never buy for N3 million not even a Nigerian used one!

On November 11th I posted the above and few days after that post the market went down. MCY56 came out to reprimand me for advising people to trade with caution,even though I never mentioned her in my post. But I ignored.

When the market is on a bullish run all of us can claim to be experts but it's always sure that at some point water will find its level.

Nothing beats what I call Commonsense investing by using the EPS ,the Dividend yield and stock Liquidity as your basic insurance against an unexpected downturn in the market contrary to what some have been saying here. When you start valuing Nigerian stocks using standards that are beyond these Commonsense metrics you are already playing Russian roulette. This is not NYSE, this is Nigeria home of possibilities and shocks.

For those who bought high during the bull convert those investment to long term assets, it's a cycle the market will go up at some point. If you bought dividend paying stocks that's better.

They are just coming out of their shell, they are now feeling is better to fight and lose than fold hands and do nothing. It is Cristal clear that the care taking chairman is totally not on their side (Tinubu). And if they wait for too long before they act, things might get worst and they may lose totally.

Just an appointee gathering together elected Governors. So, non of the Governors could feel its wrong to be address by chief of staff. One would have expect a meeting of this magnitude to have the president and his vice to be physically present. What state matter could be more important than having six state governor gathered together to discuss issues that has been causing agitation within the major revenue generating region. If I were to be a governor from one of this state, I would rather send one of my special adviser than a commissioner. It will be a big blunder for me as an elected governor to attend a meeting chaired by Chief of staff to discuss a very critical issue bordering a whole region. Boycott of this meeting would have send a serious message.
