Hello fikki and other Belgium gurus in the house.
I am required to send legalised transcript and certificate to a university in Belgium. I have already legalised my documents with the spanish embasy. I have the following questions:
1.Can i send those Spanish legalised documents to belgium?
2. Can i do the belgium legalization on the spanish legalised documents?
Thanks
since the doc have been legalised by d spanish embassy having in mind that the transcript is from a spanish school.. then you have to legalise it also at the belgian embassy for the school to accept it...

i hope its not stated that the school should send the transcript themselves. if so.. then u have to mail the spanish school to send your transcript to belgium. because it wont be accepted if its coming from you

What I am saying is as regards that space that space that you advised to be filled. I was of the view should that space "name of employee"be filled directly on the paper with a pen by the man who authorised it or should I scan and resend back to the man who authorised so that it can 've filled on the system. Besides,I will have to scan this prove of language proficiency when resending back to VUB
I think.i now understand you.. You saying because the form.is in Microsoft word.. YES PLEASE, LET HIM FILL IT on the system and then print and sign it like you did before.. normally you can do the filling on behalve of.the recipient since you already know the information needed. Just give him the filled form to sign to avoid delay.

Okay.
I just saw your reply, thanks for accommodation my numerous questions. Should it be filled manually or I forward a scanned copy back to the person such that it could be filled using msword considering the size of the space to be filled.
The school requires original copy of the signed document... no scanned doc will be recognised..
What if you are asked to present original doc.. ?

I saw it also, but I was skeptical of who to fill the section "name of employee"...should it be filed by the same person that signed and stamped this document?
The person that authorised the letter

Looks like the one I sent isn't bold enough, here is another one.
It's good bro, would have preferred the name of the person and institution and course is also written there..
It's possible the school (VUB) wouldn't check .. but i think it shoukd have be written

I, ..................
................obafemi Awolowo university Ile ife
................ your course in the school...

It's just my suggestion, bro.
Can it be rectified? filled by someone in the school hierarchy.

@fikki, Thanks for your response. I am asking if the University will place a seal on the photocopy that has been stamp with certify true copy stamp. Cos the Belgium embassy required seal on the certify true copy and I don't think university will place seal on Photocopy . Please help. thanks
This is what i did during mine, though it was expensive.
I submitted all copy of my credentials to MOE and MOFA for legalisation ( not original) so it was easy for the embassy to legalise it seeing the seal of MOFA and MOE. During visa application, i legalised the original documents.

If you have certified by a court, i dont not know if the embassy will recognise it, but above all, if u certified by court and MOFA legalised it, I THINK YOU ARE GOOD, BUT IF MOFA REJECTS IT, then i think you need to use MOE.

To be candid, no school will put a seal on a photocopy of credential when they have already issued a certificate of same. I stand to be corrected though.

Bro i advice you spend more to get better result dan to spend less n in turn you spend double.

For Admission,
Make photocopy of your sealed original certificate(s)from school, take it to MOE and MOFA den take it to EMBASSY.

For visa,
legalise all your original certificates, make photocopy front and back and submit like dat

N:B
This was what i did.

I hope i have answered your question bro

Thanks

Thanks Fikki.
VUB requested for a prove of language proficiency which I sent to the school. Few days later I was contacted and informed that I sent the wrong document. I decided to go through the language requirement again and came realised that I didn't download a particular document;that's the document I sent earlier, the one with VUB logo.

My question is that is it the case that all I have to do is have that document signed and stamped? Or after it must have been signed and stamped I have to attach other documents to it as regards prove of language proficiency?
Its stated there, if u studied in English, the form shoukd be filled by the school, stamped n signed, then send it to them..
Moreover to quench doubt, mail the school and ask them.
But there is holiday now.. i think VUB too (2weeks).

Please somebody help. Firstly, My certificate and transcripts were only stamped with certify true copy stamp and no school seal. Will the embassy accept to legalize my documents without school seal?
My documents were already legalised at Spanish Embassy, do I need to legalize them at Belgium embassy?
Morning,

If am not mistaken all certificate issued carries a school stamp or seal. And your transcript is not suppose to be opened or sent by you.. it was suppose to be sent by your to belgium( to the school you are applying to). Except if you have with you a student copy, which doesnt need to be legalised, since your school in Nigeria (graduated) already sent one to your school in Belgium (future).

On the Spanish document, i think you still need to take it to belgium embassy to legalise it before sending it to belgium.

To my understanding without school seal or stamp, your certificate might be tagged as 'OLUWOLE'.

I hope this helps

Happy easter..

please house help me clarify I saw document can be certified by awarding institutions in place of legalisation in the current application. has anyone see it and is it acceptable as stated. Has anyone try it. cos am planning to go to my school for that
Didn't do it.. but am not sure...
Embassy looks at the stamp from foreign affairs..
Foreign affairs looks at MINISTRY of Education stamp n seal
MOE checks if your school is registered and can award certificates... I think..

For admission purpose, Rotary can be used .. I am not sure though.
I hope thisanswers your question

Thanks

But are we to include the originals (Degree and WAEC certificates) with the visa application?

For the visa, are we to legalise the original educational documents?
First of all if u had applied for a school in Belgium, their requirements points whether or not u need to legalise..

Secondly, if u are requested to submit legalised copy, am sure u know u won't get the copy back, so u are sending a legalised photocopy of your certificates

When applying for visa... all your official document has to be legalise.. this time around you have to legalise the original..because it will be returned to u by the embassy.
The embassy will only accept n take decision on legalised document that are official... not all your documents.. but official document... like police report... certificates... or any other govt recognised doc.. I stand to be corrected though... if u have non official doc.. YOU MAY NOT LEGALISE IT, COS IT'S NOT NECESSARY.

I hope this helps..

Thanks

Sorry but you haven't answered my question. I was told by Ghent University to submit a Legalized copy of my Degree certificate before an Admission letter can be issued to me. I reside in Lagos. I am asking if i can legalize my certificate at a rotary public here in Lagos or if it a must i travel down to Abuja to get it done at the Belgian embassy. I am trying to save cost. I will have to travel to Abuja 2 times; 1st to legalize my certificate so that i can get my admission letter, 2nd time will be to apply for visa. Please advise me
Am sure I just answered this...
BELGIAN EMBASSY RECOGNIZES FOREIGN AFFAIR SIGNATURE, AND FOREIGN AFFAIRS RECOGNIZES MINISTRY OF EDUCATION SIGNATURE.
WITHOUT THE LATER, THE OTHER WILL NOT ACCEPT IT..

I STAND TO BE CORRECTED THOUGH...

I LEGALISED TWICE FOR UGENT.. ROTARY LEGALIZATION AM NOT SURE...

REASON
MINISTRY OF EDUCATION HAS TO CERTIFY THAT YOU FINISHED FROM A RECOGNIZED AND REGISTERED INSTITUTE... MOFA HAS TO CERTIFY THAT YOUR CERTIFICATE CAN BE USED OUTSIDE OF THE COUNTRY WHILE BELGIAN EMBASSY CERTIFIES THAT THEU HAVE SEEN ALL THE ORIGINAL COPY

NOTE
YOU ARE NOT SENDING ORIGINAL TO THEM.

I hope it helps..

Thanks

I applied through vfs, lagos precisely. I remember when I applied, the first submission process, the staff asked for the receipt of payment to home office, then after my documents before asking for my sponsors docs which I gave to her.
so she didn't ask for the annex 32 specifically, then I would have known something's wrong cus I don't have it.
no interview, no nothing.. 3months and counting
Sorry bro..any news on your application?

Also, does the sponsor have to take the Annex 32 for legalization personally, or can the student do that himself?
Both the student and the sponsor can go... or the sponsor alone if he or she is a foreigner..

Hello Henrooik!
Pls was the Certificate of Solvency in hard copy?
Did you have to legalise it?
Please respond, Newbie here!
It's a form, that is printed out from internet or received at the embassy.. after it has been filled and certified .. it becomes a certificate of solvency.. Which is always hard copy n will be legalised by only the Belgian Embassy where your sponsor lives

Thanks

Hello everyone! Please i need your advise. I applied for a program in Ghent University Belgium. My application was approved but i was told to provide a legalized copy of my degree certificate before an admission letter can be issued to me. My question is this: Can i legalize my document here in Lagos using a Rotary Public or Will i have to travel to abuja for the legalization at MOE, MOFA and Belgian Embassy?. Below is an extract from the email that was sent to me (pls read the last line):
- A legalised copy of the basic diploma (i.e. the diploma on which the admission would be based) and its transcript of records (report card / results of each academic year of your higher studies).

Please note that if your basic diploma is a Master diploma following a Bachelor diploma, you are required to provide all transcript of records for each academic year of both Bachelor and Master.

www.ugent.be/legalisation: These should bear the original seals and stamps from the Belgian Embassy.
Sorry .. this is coming late .. it might still be helpful or it might not.. depending on if your document has been sent or not.. But either way..

From my experience.
Belgian Embassy knows and recognises Foreign affairs signature n stamp.. so also Foreign affairs knows and recognises Ministering of education stamp n seal.. without each seal or stamp or signature, the other won't append theirs.. if u understand what I mean.. in essence: MOE=MOFA=Belgium Embassy... hope this helps

Thanks

On your last paragraph.. for me I think school fee is not the problem for the embassy... Belgium schools might not ask u to pay before applying for visa... in fact UGENT sspecifically state on their website dat you can't pay in advance except you have enrolled... And you can't enrol until you get to Belgium... I hope you understand... though I don't know about other schools..but I don't think you need to pay school fee..so it really not criteria... but your living expenses dat 637 or how much sef is crucial...

Hello Fikki1

Thank you so so much for the detailed update. I really appreciate your help. My sponsor went to the Embassy of Belgium in Abuja yesterday to fill, sign and submit the Annex 32 form for legalisation. They asked her for some documents which she provided and the official said all was fine that she even overprepared sef; that he would legalise the document. She was told to come back at 3pm for the legalised document. She has given me the legalised annex 32 form. I don't see where it is written "Sufficient Solvency" on the form although it has been legalised. Should I be worried? Or once you have a legalised annex 32 form does that serve as proof of sufficient solvency.

Please advise. Thank you
Beste,
Sorry for the late response...
Truthful, your sponsor wouldn't be told differently, who is going to refuse money?
Check the back of the annexed 32, it should be written there, either in dutch or French and if not and you are very sure your sponsor has such monthly income.... for example: your sponsor should have about 1900x350(assumption it may be more or less) let's say 700k monthly..(salary not biz money ... his salary).
Then you are good to go... but you must include pay slips, statement of account, family structure letter (to know number of dependant) ..(. have forgotten the rest but check online..).when applying for the visa... hopefully with prayer.. you will be granted... if you are refused don't be discouraged... I was refused too..name was refused... Just rectify the problem and apply almost immediately... you will be granted... have in mind no be beans ooo.... but it's still easy.. after all every Nigerian who came follow the same procedure though the money might be different... best of luck sis... all will be fine and don't forget to always pray it's seals shut the bad door...

Happy New month family

Thanks so much for the feedback. My sponsor actually resides in Nigeria. My full tuition is sorted. And i have an official letter to that effect. I'm only using the sponsor to cover my living expenses etc. And my sponsor earns almost that amount. Just a few hundred euros short. Is there a chance for me to be given a student visa?

Also I can see someone posted on the group to ask how long it takes. The VFS website doesn't do much justice with regards to that but I went there in person to find out and they said it takes like 2 months. I hope that helps @mavinc4u
hello...

Its is crucial that you include that few hundred euros shot... it is very important.. a cent less will result in refusal (God forbid), but belgium dont joke with a cent ehn... I will implore you to beat the requirement(finance). If u read the comments on the thread am sure u will see what few hundred euros actually caused us (refusal). please meet the requirement... annexe 32 can be downloaded online... your sponsor will have to be at the embassy with you to defend his payslips and all. Make sure he convinces whoever there that he is capable.. SUFFICIENT SOLVENCY must be written on the legalised annexe 32.. if not my sis no waste time look for another sponsor.

veel success mevrouw

First thing u apply for admission, and send the print out copy of ur application with ur copies of unlegalized certificate, i.e u dont need to legalize the copies u need to send to school in belgium, when u send u will attach the copy of ur internation passport 2 photoghraphs, and recommendation letter in zeal envilope and official transcript of ur B.Sc if u need to study for master, u will surelly get admission. 2 recommendation letters and ur motivation letter very crucial indeed, and meanwhile u can also get letter from ur scool that ur medium of instruct was in english language, u dont need to write toef or enlish test.
so after that successful getting admission ur journey just start for the legalization, u will do will do 3copies of ur certificate and pay 300 naira at federal ministry of education in Abuja, after that u proceed to foreigh affair just infront of ministry of education, but b4 u go there u need to get ur police report certificated alog for legalize at foreign affair, pls try n legalize the original certificate not photocopies, if u give them photocopies they will do it for u but u will still need to go back to abuja again for another legalization.
my people, the process is still much, i will tell u guys all later
Sorry bro, if I may ask, if the school requested for legalised copy nko, n mind u most schools in Belgium wants a legalised document such as Ugent, dunno about some, but if a school ask for legalised copy..obedience is beter... I did legalise mine before I was giving admission... N if you said no need to send legalised doc to school, why should he legalise 3 copies of each doc? Legalising d original n make photocopy is enough for visa application.

I stand to be corrected though...

Prepare all the requirements
And jejely wait for admission window to open

Apply officially

N wait for the decision of your admission..
