Brussels School of International Studies (University of Kent) that's the name of the school and resumption is on the 13th of January
Yeah bro.. you are right...
Term 2... I think if you have your timetable and letter of admission that states the starting date of your program.. The embassy will answer you on time.. I have seen two cases of such.

Just get the right document from the school.. perhaps you can ask the school when you can enrol(a date will be suitable).

Good day @fikki and other guys that have contributed immensely to this thread, I say a big thank you Guy's. Please I want to know is how you Guy's are surviving bin Belgium. Are you Guy's working and studying ? what is the possibility of work and study.. And how much is the average monthly pay.
It depends bro. We usually find it difficult to discuss this online. We always wish study is main purpose and any money earn is just an added advantage. but believe me when I say you can survive as we are all surviving. Every student that wants to work gets to work but with limited hours.

Am sorry if I am unable to give you straight forward answer. You can send me PM. I will explain better.

Kind regards,

I just got admission to study International Development in University of Kent in Belgium. School resumes on the 13th of January 2020. I am so worried because I am just on the Embassy legalization stage tho the ministries have legalized my documents. Will it be possible to get my visa before school resumes and is there any Nigerian Student School there at the moment that I can relate with ?
Resumption in January? That’s strange... Exam starts in January.. I only know of February enrolment and September.. January is strange. Can you please give the website of the school?
@Konja... Any info about this?

Hello PweedyDaughter,

As touching the email attachment from KU Leuven you uploaded. I assume you requested an information about transcript right? Well, the email said it’s suffice(enough) to upload a copy of your transcript in pdf when applying for admission.

I’ll advice that you check the school website or contact the admin via email for genuine information. I know we all are trying to help here, but people have a way of posting misleading informations.

Note: KU Leuven strictly operates online application and its only on exceptional cases they’d request that you send hard copies to them(KU Leuven). Also, you don’t have to legalise your documents when applying for the admission(I’m speaking of KU Leuven). You can go on their website or send an email to them to confirm the information I’ve just given.

Blessings.

Hello Bro,
Happy weekend, your informations are correct and on point.. but I do feel your method of expression is attacking and sounds a bit weird to me, from your previous comment I realised you made mention of being careful because of misleading information, again you re-iterated it. Am speaking on behalf of those that I personally know. Nobody has given false or misleading information here.. you can either correct a wrong statement or support a statement.. but don’t try to make efforts of others to give support or information look worthless..

I personally went through phases of admission processes not just for Ugent or KuLeuven but also ThomasMore, so basically every info are based on my experience..

No schools here ask for hard copies except after the admission has gotten to that stage.. so if hard copies are requested, they ( school) will inform the intending student on what to do.. and for a foreign document to be accepted out of its issued country, it must be legalised.. for it to be recognised as official.

Back to your response to pweedydaughter.. what you have said is not different from what the first responder has said not does it have different meaning to mine... ways of expressing them is just different.. UPLOAD TRANSCRIPT FROM SCHOOL WAS WHAT EACH OF US SAID..

No one has told her to do otherwise.

Kind regards

Normally schools here aim at students with at least 2nd class Upper. However some times they admit 2nd class lower. It depends on the university.

Hello good evening

Please I've been following the thread for quite some time now and I wanna ask
Please are the any universities offering Bsc in English?

Where can I get information about my sponsor requirements and can my sponsor be a Nigerian?

How are jobs in Belgium?
Only for mgt courses and it’s a bit expensive.. your sponsor can be a Nigerian if he or she earns above 800k per month as a worker. With proof of payslips...

Greetings to all the great members of this thread.

Am looking at applying for a Masters admission to few universities in Belgium and I would love to find out from all experience and successful members if the IELTS result is a compulsory factor when applying for admission or can the be waived for international applicants from Nigeria.

Also if it is compulsory, did you guys write the academic IELTS?

my apologies in advance if my question have been previously asked or if it did offend anyone. I would appreciate you kind response.

Thanks
Most European countries do not recognise Nigeria as an English speaking country due to our multi lingual ( different cultural Language) system. That is why we are always requested to present an English Test result. Although some school will accept letter of exemption if you have one from school or from Ministry of Education Abuja.

The stress is much for the exemption. Contact the school and inform them that you have done your bachelors in English and provide proof. You might be exempted from the English language requirement, if not, I will implore you to write the exam as it will be valuable in other things .. the result or certificate last for 2 years.

@ i am not a guru, but i will advice that, if you have a copy of your transcript upload and send it to them, if you dont have access to it let ur school send it to them. They will accept it
There is student copy transcript.. signed by the issuing authority (in this case, the school who issued it) and just as you have said she would upload that.

Until you are requested to send hard copy of your credentials to them, you do not have to send it. If you send just transcript, you will still send other document later if requested for.

As it stands, your signed transcript from school should be uploaded as requested. This is asked in other to meet up with General school requirements. You may later be asked to send transcript directly from school to verify the one you uploaded online, this I believe is the second phase of admission process.

Normally, all official documents will be legalised before acceptance at the university. Even if you are not asked you still have to legalise it. If not it will become a problem during enrolment.

Good day,

Pls I still need clarification as touching the visa legalisation of document for visa application. I’m not sure yet, are we really going to submit original certificates for legalisation at the Belgium Embassy? I don’t just feel comfortable with the idea of having 3 different stamps(MOE, MOFA) or whatever it’s on my original certificate. Can you pls explain how you did yours?

Tnx
for the Embassy to recognise your doc, it must be legalised.. but if you have enough to legalise the photocopies of your documents, you can do that too, it will be accepted, the embassy request for two copies each of all your document.

to cut cost, we legalised the original and make photocopies of both sides to show legalisation.

hope this helps?

Dear All,

For those who have gotten admission Congratulations and those who hasn’t, don’t feel bad it’s a process it will come in time.. but always try to contact the school, call them or mail them. But they prefer call, because they will give answers to your questions immediately. Mails take time.

For those applying for visa...
Visa application isn’t so hard.. the right document Certainly results in visa... just be consistent in your response... if you have given A answers before maintain that A as answers all through the processing because two different answers shows inconsistencies and gives doubt on your purpose of travel...

For sponsorship...
Always check the latest requirements before you submission for Visa.. Sometimes they change the requirements during current academic year and it affects students because they only considered requirements for previous year.. I was in that shoe n I was refused.. when you want to submit for visa check again the requirements for sponsorship (latest) (2020/2021). If it’s not there... Please wait for it.

For those who will go for interview...
Give same answers to questions...they have almost same questions but different ways of asking them, so understand the question n give same answer just as the one you gave to previously.

N:B
Don’t promise heaven before coming to Belgium.. things might go differently ... if you have loaned money for all processing, give a year or two pay back plan. Don’t expect immediate earnings.. no be beans...

When you are certain of your arrival.. please start contacting your friends or family in the city where you will school n ask help for accommodation... it is very important... without accommodation you virtually cannot do anything... I MEAN NOTHING.. to get your resident permit... bank....insurance.. YOU NEED ACCOMMODATION.. n no be beans... don’t bother contacting the school for that(NOT IN ALL CASES THOUGH, YOU CAN TRY) but priority is given to scholarship students and Erasmus students first... before consideration to others and it is rare.

Kind regards,

I would also like to know if the original legalized degree certificate is what we are to submit for visa application. Are they going to return it to us at the end of the application.
All your original documents will be returned, that’s the essence of the photocopy and legalisation... your photocopied legalised document stands as original.. you just have to present both the original and the photocopy..

Then the original will be returned to you..

please guru's in the house, is the above statement true that " transcript are not needed for visa application"
All official documents are to be legalised...
TravelRe: Anyone Studying In Belgium? by fikki1: 7:15am On Nov 04, 2019
konja44:
No it won't be accepted. Only the original legalized documents will be accepted.
If you are applying to Gent University.. have in mind that you will legalise your document twice...

You legalise your original for Visa application and
You legalise the photocopy of your original certificates, these photocopies are the one you will send to the school.

N:B you wil be requested to send hard copies of your credentials... that’s when they need your legalised document.. more so, legalise only official document and the document you intend they( UGENT) use to judge your admission application..

Please, is admission letter needed to apply for visa?
I mean that sent by school as hard copy. I want to know if I have to request for it be sent to me or embassy. I'm short of time, my sponsor documentation is near completion. My school is Uhasselt
Normally, YES...
But I think you should print the one they attached to you as a mail and use it if it doesn’t arrive or time or you feel it won’t arrive on time... tell them to send it to the embassy on your behalf... print it out in coloured...

Good day bosses in the house and welldone for a very good Job so far, have been googling up and down since before o eventually came across this thread, i must confess am very happy to be here... Please i want nothing but a mentorship, actually have read all the thread but am still much confuse and i need to be clarify. My question goes thus:-
1- I have bsc in water resources but i cant find my master program related on Ghent sites, any idea of the university i can find Water resources engr?

2- if i chose not to do my master , and i want to chose degree in nursing, how can i go about it and what are the things require?

3- is their age limit for there admission application?

I will be very glad if am able to get a quick response. Thanks in anticipation
You can get the courses in other universities if they have it... KU leuven, VUb, Antwerp.. just search for cities... for example... Brussels... Antwerp.. Gent.... leuven...Hasselt...

If you choose not to apply for masters, you will have more questions to answer and then your age comes into play and what you have been doing before now, this will lead to your motivation for nursing and bachelors are almost in Nederlands.. so it’s might be a bit tedious .. but in all it’s not unachievable.. you apply to the school and afterwards apply for the language..

Age Limit? I don’t think so.. but you need to explain Gaps in your education if there is one..

My advice..
Apply for master program and get your admission focus on that for start and you can change later. By then there will be less hassle and more motivation..

Hey! Thanks for your reply. A few more questions (if you don’t mind):—

• any additional documents we should bring along with us to the interview?

• after the interview, when can one expect to hear back concerning the final decision, and

• in your experience, what mistakes (during the interview) usually lead to a rejection given all other conditions are met?

About the Police Character Report, well, I really hope it won’t be the nail in the coffin to my application.

Thanks!
• nothing is needed actually, apart from the proof that you have appointment and interview that day... but in case go along with all your document, you never can tell...

Fingers crossed on the police thingy... good luck bro

•since you waited sometime already it should be fast 2 weeks or 1 month at max... since your school resumes in September... I assume

• incoherent answers can be a problem.. they will ask you same question but in different ways... if you understand wat I mean.. so just remember not to give two different answers to one question... same answer but different ways of asking

Hey! Thanks for the reply! Just got the interview invite 2 days ago for next week.

Could anyone kindly enlighten me on what type of questions to expect during the interview? Would greatly appreciate it!
You going for masters I suppose...
Just questions about your undergraduate, your finance and the school and the country you intending to go.. it’s just some written exam, only undergraduate goes through written and oral.. if this hasn’t changed then it should be like that..

If it has... anyone with recent info could help out...
On your police character report any official document that’s not legalised by Belgium embassy MAY NOT be accepted, you may be asked to present a new one... Just pray that’s what they ask. If all others are intact, worry-less. Which school are you going in Belgium?

Hello House @fikki. Thanks a lot for your response to my previous mail,,I wish you know how glad I am whenever you take little of your time to reply my questions. I called the school and their reply was I can't be able to register for this academic year, He further explained that their deadline is always 1st of November but I can register for Sep 2019. So I want to ask;

My visa will be issued this month, does it mean I can't use it to travel probably when I get there, I will pay the fee and differ to the admission to Sept...I am really confused if this visa I am waiting for the past months won't be in vain..Also,
Just advise me generally,, Is there anyone you know that wqw granted late visa and school doesn't accept for that year. ...I will be grateful fikki for this,, God bless
Hello bro,
Was on trip, normally before the embassy issue the visa, they will ask you to get confirmation from the school that you can still register, and if u don’t I have no idea what they will do. I would suggest you wait for the outcome and get your defferd letter from the school and at the same time be open and ask the embassy what the consequences will be if you are given visa and you are to resume the following academic year. I do not think you will be able to get resident permit for 2019/2020 in 2018/2019, it just not so possible if you ask me. They are becoming strict with student here now.

Best bet is.. wait for the response from embassy, get your deferred letter what ever response you get will determine what to do next....
