First, Iran doesn't import crude for refining. Nigeria does. Secondly, the costs of extracting crude is different across countries. It costs Saudi Arabia roughly 15 dollars to extract a barrel of crude while it costs Nigeria around 38 dollars or so. It costs the US about 65 to 78 dollars to extract a barrel of crude. I mention this because even if Nigeria was refining its own crude and not importing, fuel here will never be as cheap as it is in Iran.

During arrangements of the Nigeria constitution there is an allocation of oil for domestic market. This oil is not peg to international price. It's called subsidy later on but due to corruption from the NNPC they lied that we are consuming more than then allocation which requires government to start paying subsidy. Question we should ask ourselves is why is government not going after corruption instead of destroying Nigeria economy. Even if it cause Nigeria 30$ or 50$ fuel should be around 200-300. The reason thing are so bad is as a result of tinubu subsidy is gone.
