Did he said Nigerians pays the lowest airfare in the whole world?

Worthington DC to london is over 6000 km.
The average flight right now is 700k naira roound-trip. And That about 7 to 8 hours for a single trip

Whereas Lageo to enugu is merely above 500km. Yet the average price right now is 200k round trip. That's about 1 hour for a single trip.

It was 500k during Xmas though

The mew laptops boys. How much they are paying you people now? I do hope its not the usual 30k a months this time around??

Nairaland1 the chief sponsor said government is owning trillions to genco for subsidzing power. He justifies the darkness for cheaper electricity for as a result of subsidy for band c and e.

Band A people are not part of the subsidy. Tather they are the once subsidizing for others. So there is no excuse for the government and the company not keeping their own part of the agreement.

In as much are the band A is premium price I still like and prefer it if only they keep to the agreement of minimum 20hours a day.

The money save or realize from Band A they said theu will use to to build more megawatts and develop the power section. They said it would attract foreign investors and more and more people will be moved to band A. Bla bla bla. I told nairaland1 that nothing will come out from it as the same with fuel subsidy removal and every other price increase. This is Nigeria and the logic here is different from textbooks economics and projections.

What genco and phcn have achieved from the band A? we are still were we are same place the PDP left it despite all the increase.
PoliticsRe: Obi Calls For Resignation Of Minister Of Power For Starving Nigerians Of Power by fineboynl(m): 9:13pm On Dec 27, 2025
nairalanda1:
LOL...we can remove the minister of power, we can even replace the minister of power with Trump or Putin, and the power supply would still be bad because MOST nigerians do not pay a cost reflective tarrif.

I keep saying this, when GSM came to Nigeria, there was no GSM backbone in the country, talkless of internet. All we had was the nitel landline system which was wack already. But because Obasanjo said that GSM companies should be allowed to charge cost reflective tarrifs, and only because of that, many GSM companies made the profit that enabled them to do good service, enjoy home internet and so forth,(Of course, the fact that you cannot use a phone unless you pay some money into it, and even if you want to only recieve calls, the line would be disconnected eventually if NO PAYMENT IS MADE).

Meanwhile power companies came around in 2013. GEJ as many people say was a kind and listening man. But to run government, you also have to be realistic. GEJ finished the privatisation of power, but also brought in price controls, and subsidy. BY 2019, a KwH Of power cost N30 Less than what it took to produce it. NOwadays for most people it costs about N100 Less than what it takes to produce it...unless you are Band A...which are 20% of consumers.

Additionally, all the bad habits we did with NEPA...we brought with disco. Bypassing meter...60% Of people bypass their meters (That is for those who shout that if we meter everyone, they will pay without ceasing! grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin). Refusing to pay, or underpaying...and even those who pay, most pay the subsidised price, and meanwhile government is strugging to pay the subsidy, because the cost of production is rising, because gas prices are not STATIC.

And what do you expect is the result...

A POWER SECTOR THAT DOES NOT AND CANNOT MAKE ENOUGH OF A PROFIT TO PAY FOR IMPROVEMENTS

Yet. tell people on nairaland this truth...they will call you APC supporter, data boy, Agbero, etc. (Apparently believing a business should make a profit is tantamount to supporting APC...no wonder many businesspeople support APC..Lol..). Or they will call you a liar. Like someone who brought newspaer report saying a disco was punished for overcharging consumers...WHAT THE EFF DO YOU EXPECT? When most consumers ARE NOT PAYING WHAT WOULD BE SUFFICENT TO MAKE A PROFIT....THINGS LIKE RIPPING OFF CONSUMERS WHO DO PAY TO AT LEAST BREAK EVEN HAPPEN.

Yes, your refusal to pay cost reflective tarrifs...is why discos are ripping off consumers. Your government's refusal...yes, TInubu's refusal to enforce cost reflective tarrifs for all, is why discos are ripping off consumers. And the fact discos cannot make a profit is why most of you STILL HAVE TO BUY YOUR OWN POLES AND TRANSFORMER, AND WIRES!

Truth is not accepted in this country, that's why we have bandits disturbing us, and UGM tormenting us, and kidnappers in the forest.
since the intruduction of band A. How much they have made to ecpends the power generation to include more and more people to the band A? Nothing on ground. The band A people bear the cost for them to grow but everything is still in stagnation. Since the introduction of band a how many megawatts of electricity is have built and improved?

Not minding the fact I love the band A and it's promise of electricity. But the government and the company are not keeping their promise on the bargain.

In this heated viral clip from December 2025, prominent Islamic cleric Sheikh Ahmad Gumi delivers a bold message amid Nigeria's ongoing insecurity crisis:

“Herdsmen are going nowhere. They are part of us, and we are part of them. We must learn to live together and should never become enemies with them.”

The statement has ignited massive debate across Nigeria, with critics accusing Gumi of sympathizing with armed groups linked to banditry, while supporters see it as a call for dialogue over violence.

The problem is that gas companies are cutting down their gas supply because the FG owes them #1.3 trillion.

How can someone be supplying a product and not being paid for it? I think the government wants to pay them through a bond. The government has started the process.
how does that affect the band A?

Band A people are not part of the subsidy anymore.

Monopoly give one apple opportunity to detect or fix price unchallenged.

Even without monopoly. Market Unions are the same too but not as bad as monopoly.

If your product is good and cheaper you dont need any fight to the extent of calling someone out.

The Chinese dominance today is because their product are cheaper and better compared to others.

Telling government to ban importation because of your refinery is insensitive. Is like Innoson telling government to ban import of vehicles.

We ban import of rice and other food item because of farmers look at where we are today. Cheap local rice which no one want before became expensive than foreign rice.

HealthKnock Knee (what We Called K Leg) After Knee Trauma by fineboynl(op):
I know of someone that had a knee injury; he fell and hit his knee on iron. The knee became swollen and very painful. Since then he keeps pressing and messaging it; there is no dislocation, just pain and swelling.

But since then he keeps managing the leg like that by tying it before going out.

But the problem now is the leg is not straight anymore. The leg is bending inward (knock-knee), like what we call a "K leg" in Nigeria. The last time I saw this person, he complained about it bending inward, and when I checked it out, it truly bent. He doesn't even need to stand for you to see it. If he stretches the leg forward, you will see it.

I have seen some elderly people with knee problems like arthritis; the same knock-knee starts happening to them.

From my research online it look like Meniscus is the problem
