Former Senate President, David Mark and Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, the Former Minister of State for Education have arrived at the Westminster Magistrates court in London, the United Kingdom to observe the trial of Former Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu and his wife, Beatrice.

The couple were earlier tried at the Uxbridge Magistrates' Court in London and denied bail as the prosecutors claimed David Ukpo, the victim who alleged that he was coerced to donate his Kidney to the Senator's daughter, is said to be 15 years old.

However, there have been contrary claims that Ukpo is 21 years old.

They are both charged with conspiracy to arrange or facilitate the travel of another person with a view to exploitation, namely Organ Harvesting.

The case was however adjourned to on Thursday, July 7 at Westminster Magistrate court to enable the UK Attorney General, Suella Braverman, to determine whether the case will be tried in the country or Nigeria.

Also in court are some Nigerian Senators led by Adamu Muhammed Bulkachuwa, Chairman, Senate Committee Foreign Affairs.

Meanwhile, Ekweremadu and his wife are yet to arrive in the court.

The United Kingdom Education Minister, Michelle Donelan, has resigned from her appointment.

The Nigerian Presidency has reacted to a Terror Attack on Kuje Prison stating that the President, [color=#000000]Muhammadu Buhari[/color] will not be deterred from performing his Official duties for the country by the activities of the terrorists.

His Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, made this declaration Wednesday while responding to Insinuation that the President ought to shelve his Journey yesterday to Dakar, Senegal to attend the International Development Association (IDA) for Africa Summit scheduled to hold Thursday.

"Adesina, who anchored the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meetings briefing by Ministers Wednesday, said:

"The President should go(to Senegal) because there's an International Conference meant for Heads of States and Presidents; he should attend . You should never give in to terrorists. Controversy has surrounded the Whereabouts of suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari, after bandits attacked Kuje Correctional Centre, Abuja, where he was kept.

THE PUNCH had reported that gunmen attacked Custodial Centre in the Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja Tuesday night.

During the attack which lasted hours, some inmates were said to have escaped.

The Kuje Prison is famous for holding High-profile inmates and suspects, including Former Governors and Ministers.

According to the officials, the Facility houses over 900 inmates.

"We have not seen him today. He didn't also come for Subhi(early morning) Prayer as usual.
But I don't know what is happening," A source in the Prison told our Correspondent.

Another Official, who preferred Anonymity, said that the Whereabouts of Kyari remained unknown to him as of 09.30am.

"I am sure he is not missing and he didn't escape. But I don't know where exactly he is," the official said.

Confirming the incident on Tuesday, the Kwara State Police Command said the killing and abduction took place at a quarry in Shao in Moro Local Government Area of the State.

Channels Television gathered that the gunmen also burnt the car allegedly used in the operation on Sunday and disappeared without any trace.

Sources said another Police Operative who was reportedly injured in the attack has been taken to a hospital for medical attention.

The Command is working round the clock to get the victim rescued and apprehend the perpetrators,"said the Police Public Relations Officer Kwara,Okosanmi Ajayi, while recounting the incident.

"The Command is in a mourning mood over the killing of one of our operatives."

According to the Command's spokesperson, the commissioner of Police in Kwara, Tuesday Assayomo, has set up a special investigation team to probe the matter.

"The people of Kwara will be briefed accordingly on our progress," he said.

Oba Oyetunji, spoke when the Peoples Democratic party's Governorship candidate, Senator Ademola Adeleke, visited him in his palace.

Before the arrival of Adeleke at Ataoja's palace, it was learnt some members of the party were attacked by suspected hoodlums around Isale-Osun area of Osogbo, Osun State.

According to him,APC orchestrated the attack to scare supporters of the party and prevented them from receiving Adeleke, who was visiting the Ataoja.

He further alleged,"The APC thugs attacked our supporters on their way to the palace of Ataoja of Osogbo around Isale-Osun area.we don't know how many people got injured yet.

"Whenever APC is involved in any kind of criminal act, they will always want to put up Alibi and create scenes.

Akeredolu, who backed the call by Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State for residents to arm and defend themselves against terrorists, called on the people of his State to repel those attacking them.
