The Fear of Governor Jimi Agbaje is the beginNING of wisdom to Lagos Arrestors. ![]() |
The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) on Monday said that the commission would continue to promote the use of bicycles as an alternative means of transportation in the country. Then FRSC Zonal Commander, Mr Luka Kinya, said this at the formal launching of its annual ‘National Bicycle Week’ in Osogbo. Kinya, who is in charge Osun, Ondo and Oyo, said this was being done as part of its efforts to decongest the roads. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the launch is the second edition of the programme being pursued nationally by the FRSC. He said the commission was partnering with the Osun Ministry of Works, Youths, Sports and Special Needs for this year’s programme. The zonal commander said the exercise was to sensitise the public on the need to embrace and make use of the bicycle as an alternative and safe means of transportation. He said it would be beneficial to the public to know that riding a bicycle for 30 minutes every week would give a person the chance of living 10 years longer than some that do not. He said bicycle riders also fall sick 25 per cent less than those who did not ride bicycles. Kinya also said that bicycle riders save more money compared to those buying fuel to drive a car. He said members of the public would therefore benefit a lot if they embrace the use of bicycle as a means of transportation. Dr Akinyinka Esho, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Youths, Sports and Special Needs, said the state government was glad to partner with the FRSC in keeping the people and roads safe. Esho, who was represented by Mr Lai Adeshinyan, a Director in the Ministry, said the campaign for the people to embrace the use of bicycles would be beneficial to the public in the long run. He said apart from decongesting the roads and reducing road traffic crashes, it would equally help the government to map out bicycle lanes in their road construction and rehabilitation projects. He advised indigenes and residents of the state to embrace the bicycle riding culture, saying it was a cheap and cost effective mode of transportation. NAN reports that the ‘National Bicycle Week’ is to run from Dec. 15 to Dec. 20 in all the 36 states of the federation http://dailypost.ng/2014/12/15/frsc-advocates-use-bicycles-alternative-means-transport/

LAGOS — Following the continuous decline in the prices of crude oil in the international market, the amount the Federal Government is paying on subsidy for Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, has dropped to N4.48 per litre. This came as the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, assured Nigerians that the ongoing strike embarked upon by members of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria, PENGASSAN, and the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers, NUPENG, will not disrupt the supply of petroleum products to members of the public. The Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA), in a document obtained from its website, yesterday, puts the market price of PMS at N101.48 per litre, as at December 12, 2014, compared to N108.38 per litre as at December 9, 2014. According to the PPPRA, the Expected Open Market (EOMP) of fuel is N101.48; Landing Cost -N98.15; Ex-Depot price is N81.51 per litre, while the regulated price is N97 per litre. The assurance by the NNPC is against the backdrop of long queue of vehicles that resurfaced at most filling stations in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, and its environs yesterday on account of the strike announced by the unions. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/12/crude-price-decline-fuel-subsidy-payment-drops-n4-48litre/ |
Jimi Agbaje is the best thing that can happen to Lagos come 2015. |
AHEAD of 2015 governorship election in Lagos State, a socio-political group, the Eko Initiative, EI, yesterday, threw its weight behind the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, flag-bearer, Jimi Agbaje, saying he remained the best candidate to take Lagos to the next level. In a statement, coordinator of the group, Mr. Sumbo Onitiri, said the emergence of Akinwunmi Ambode as the flag-bearer of the All Progressives Congress, APC, had reduced the governorship contest to a two-horse race, insisting that Agbaje would give the ruling party APC, a run for its money. He said: “Following the emergence of Akinwunmi Ambode, as the candidate of the APC, and Jimi Agbaje as the candidate of PDP, there is no doubt that Agbaje is the only candidate that can wrest power from the APC, which has been ruling the state since 1999, thus putting an end to the Tinubu dynasty. “Agbaje has already been given the nod by representatives of 12 political parties in the state, who have closed ranks with PDP and the EKO Initiatives to adopt him as their candidate. With this adoption, we believe that Agbaje is the right choice for Lagosians.” - See http://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/12/jimi-agbaje-best-man-lagos-group/

alfa0:Assalamu ‘Alaikum @ alfa0, Let me drop some lines to your inquiry. 1. It depends on your circumstances. (How fast do you want the project to be completed will determine if you need to buy ready made blocks or mold yours) however, molding has a lot of advantages over buying. e,g Quality of blocks and relatively lower in term of cost. 2. Depending on the area your project is located. We have different sizes of Tipper Truck deliverING Sharp sand. But in a simple term, 10 tyres full truck load of sand will give you 650 Blocks of 6" (15 Bags of Cements @ 45 blocks per bag) or (15 Bags of Cements @ 25 blocks per bag = 375 for 9" ) 3. You will require Sharp Sand for making a strong block, also depending on the state. some state called it different names and some location also mix different sand. Here in Lagos we use sharp sand. Do let me know if you require additional information. I wish you goodluck in your project. ![]() Shalom. |
