Foyth is a better player than Dest in every way.

If a defensive RB is what we seek, then we should just stick to Araujo playing there. I personally don't think we need two offensive fullbacks... One is good enough but then, we need someone that's comfortable driving the ball forward and can cross the ball efficiently.

Just watch how ineffective and unproven Araujo appeared when he tried to cross the ball in our last game, it only shows that it's not his forté.

And for Dest, I don't mind anyone benchig him. In fact, if you ask me, I'll go for that Frimpong guy in Leverkusen or Munier, with preference for the former over than latter.. Those two are good at both defending and offensive.

I'm not fond of Juan Foyth because he's a very limited fullback that doesn't fare well in 1v1 duels against fast wingers/forwards. That has been evident both for his National Team and his club.

He lost his starting spot for Argentina after Copa America 2019 because Scaloni found better all-round RBs like Molina and Montiel who can attack and defend better than Foyth.

Moving on to his club, Villareal, he had a disaster campaign in UCL against Bayern Munich and Liverpool in 4 matches. You could see how bad Foyth is against fast wingers in 1v1 duels and even stats can prove that. Against Bayern Munich in the 1st leg, he made 2 tackles and got dribbled past 5 times. In the 2nd leg against Bayern Munich, he made 3 tackles and got dribbled past 4 times also had 38% ground duel success.

Again in the UCL, against Liverpool in the 1st leg, he got bullied by the LW, Diaz as he got dribbled past 3 times and only made 2 tackles. In the 2nd leg against Liverpool, he made 0 tackles, got dribbled past 3 times and lost all of 6 ground duels. That's simply horrific considering in the 2nd leg Mane was playing and Foyth still got dribbled past with ease despite the fact that Mane has regressed so much in dribbling in the past 2 years.

To keep it simple, if Foyth joins Barcelona, we would STILL need to play Araujo as RB against Real Madrid or against TOP teams in UCL because Foyth is atrocious in 1v1 duels. What's even more hilarious is that Foyth had worse possession adjusted defensive and even offensive stats per 90 than Mingueza (21 90s vs 9.9 90s).

If Foyth can't even do his job as a fullback against top teams then what is the point of buying him for €20M-25M? Use him against bottom table teams? This is simply shocking. You either invest in the right player or you don't and Foyth is clearly is not the right player for Barcelona considering we are aiming for trophies.
