Thanks, I applied in August last year and I have been given an interview date for next month, I hope this mistake won't jeopardize the process?

If after making the correction they won't change the passport number then make the correction before the interview, but if you would be given a new passport with different number from the one you used to book appointment date then you would have to explain during the interview and submit a new one after....... My suggestion tho

Hi NL, I made a mistake of state of birth on my son passport, I wrote Lagos instead of Ogun which is on the hospital document, please how do I correct this on the passport or should I leave it that way?, meanwhile we have interview date next month

I think the embassy will request for submission of another passport after the interview.

Hello everyone, please I still have my maiden name on all my documents and passport, can i do a change of name and go along with the documents just incase, then if they request for me to change my passport name to my husband, i can go about that after the interview.

I think it is advisable to do change of name on newspaper publication and court affidavit and take it along with you for the interview ,since you booked for appointment with this passport , go with it for your interview then after the interview you can now do change of name on your passport

I am in the same situation. My wife used her maiden name to apply for appointment. But I guess this shouldn't be a problem provided that all relevant documents and the Lawyer's verification is positive. Also, adopting the hubby's surname is a matter of agreement between couples and not compulsory. But the experts in the house can shed light this issue, my conclusions are based on assumptions.

From what i learnt from others, since she has applied with her maiden name she would go to the interview with her passport and all necessary document and if she has done her change of name the consulate would mail her afterwards (mostly its after document verification) to submit a new passport in her new(husband) name

No, they are different. Affidavit of marital status should be done by your father or head of family
