Hallos,

5weeks = 1month in intown suites.

labella12:

Hello firsttimer and the elpaso clan. Please I have a question concerning the above. R u sayin you will be billed for 5weeks in a month so for three months is 15weeks instead of 13weeks? Or they count their own differently

hallos my pple,

Intown suites is very diff to book online as they wont collect money due to the fact tht a lot of paper work is involved.

@todimski, lemme take it one by one

1. I understand the one month issue which I av explained to Oma240. You can only book for 3months when you get here.

2. lemme break it down for you sir/ma.
For single bedded, its like $800+ with tax for a month
For double bedded, its like $900+ with tax for a month
(pls note that a month here is 5weeks even if its February)

3. The figure depends on the size of family coming so it may be difficult for me to give an exact figures. What I can tell you is that you shld try and bring plenty African food like garri, beans, milo, powered milk, maggi, anything you can bring thts allowed in US o and pls make sure u declare them when filling the form before you land. Tht will minimize your spending on food. You don't have to bring chicken o cos the price of chicken here is like 50k (just kidding).

You will av to buy cooking pots tho and some other kitchen items, you can bring stick for turning amala pls, its very important. So I will say for a single person maybe $500 per month ,( this is not an accurate figure o, just the minimum figure).

4. I honestly don't want to talk about that issue for personal reason but I will do my homework abt it and post whatever I see in this forum for everybody to read.

All the best and pls I am still here to give info based on my knowledge.
todimski:

@firttimer

You are doing great with the help and information you are giving us. Many thanks

1. with respect to the intown booking, this is wat @oma240 was trying to say. Look at the booking below for 31 nights showing the rate for 1 week. How does one get the total rate to show on the booking and I suppose you have to do about 3 different bookings to take care of 3 months since the maximum number of nights on the portal is 31.

Step 3: Fill out reservation details...
Arrival 2/1/2014
Departure 3/4/2014
RoomType Full Size Bed
Rate $179.99

Please fill in the following information to make the reservation:
Note: A valid e-mail is required to process your reservation. Please do not include spaces or text that are not a part of your valid e-mail address in this field. Please include only one email address.

2. Further, from your on the ground experience, how much will 3 months rental at intown suites be?

3. What is the likely average cost of living expenses (besides rental above) over there e.g feeding, xport, buying a few things like toileteries e.t.c for about 1 month. Multiplying by 3 should do for 3 months.

4. if you say dont lie about anything, does one just outrightly say i am going for tourism and then to have my baby?

Please if i have more questions I will come back oooo. Cheers

@ome240, I will advice you call them back and get everything right please, it is very important you get every important documents ready for you interview. They are not very good in email correspondence and the reservation dept office is not in intown suites but I can do u a favour by asking on your behalf. pls remind me oooo. I think you can only book for 1month online which I personally feel its alright and you can defend tht during ur interview tht u intend to extend when you get here.

All the best.

ome240: Thanks first timer for the clarifications.
On the in town suites booking stuff, I actually gave them a call and explained that I will be there for 3 months which they affirmed. Was amazed she sent a booking for 1week.
Do you advice I give them a call again insisting to make the reservation for 3 months..
THANKS so much for your candid advice..

my people, bn a while, na waka plenty o and making sure the mothers in intown suites are doing fine before coming online. I must confess that I am not happy with the way you ladies deal with issues on this forum. Please note that this forum is solely to help each other and learn from individual experiences.

let me start with solidhomes, pls for your baby's sake, you and your hubby needs to do the needful asap cos if he leaves for naija, na another game entirely o and you still have months to go. God will be with you and your baby.

For people coming to intown suites, there are single bedded rooms and double bedded rooms so family with 2children can stay comfortably. Fridge, micro wave, electric cooker, wardrobe, heater and housekeeper comes once in a week.

@oma240, you need to book for the months you will be staying in intown suites for the purpose of the visa interview, you cant book a week and fill 3months in your visa application, that's contradiction and lying to them ,with due respect ooooooo.

Back to the issue of @peacenigeria, I personally believe that we should try as much as possible to understand her story very well before we start encouraging back things in this forum.

@labella12 and @favored gal, I av bn in El Paso for 3weeks now and I can tell you categorically the standard here and how US government can get hold of you without sweat and I don't think peacenigeria is marketing Doctores Para Ti, seeing is believing about their services.

If we all know everything in this world, we wont be in this forum asking one question or the other, we learn everyday and I want us to encourage each other not discourage each other. One thing I know is that, the system in US is different from Naija o, they get information anytime, anyday from any agencies and they expect the agency not to lie in the name of National Security. It is better to say the truth and if denied you have the chance to reapply than lie and never get chance again.

My new year gift to everyone in this forum is PLEASE DONT LIE ABOUT ANYTHING, we are all doing this for our children's future and God will bless us all in Jesus name.

Take care and be good, it is a sunny day in El Paso, we are all going for shopping oooo. People in NY,Chicago,Boston and other snow state, make una drink tea very well ooooo and pls stay indoor ooooo. grin

@lubu,the prices are different but if you are coming alone, you only need the single bedded if not you shld go for the double bedded.

Well, the prices may not be as it was during the xmas period but im sure you can still get a good deal.

Lufthansa and Houston is my POE.

All the best.

LUBU16:

Hi firsttimer,
Weldone o
I love your spirit in this house and say God bless you o.

I need to know pls - the single bedded and double bedded in intown suites are the charges the same?

Are the shops still running their promo sales around there?

No vex I beg

@ Ome240
You are on the right step in your visa application. To ans your questions to be the best of my knowledge

1. Intown Suites is not as effective as Doctores ParaTi as regards correspondence but you can still call them to book and pay. Please insists on confirmation email to your booking or you can book Comfort Inn at El Paso for the purpose of your visa interview and later cancel after your interview, It is straight forward.

2. Where you will be staying will be your contact name as they can easily call them to confirm if you actually have a booking with them.

3.Your upfront payment shows that you are not coming to US to use their facilities free of charge as some pple do. You have a good standing to this effect as I was told the Embassy usually call to confirm if your receipt is genuine.

4.The amount you will give her will depend on the durations in US and she can use her bank card here so you can be transferring money to her whenever she needs money, but for the purpose of POE, she will need to have substantial amount to show she is financially capable. You will need to show tht too at the embassy if they ask you.

5.be honest in filling the forms and print them out for your records becos they will use the form you fill to ask you questions and they must tally.

All the best my brother.

uote author=ome240]Hi everyone,
please I would be needing your advice. My wife and I intend having our baby at El Paso. We have been in contact with DOCTORES PARA TI. Enrollment has been done. We also intend making an up front payment for the medical expenses. My questions are as follows;
1. Is it possible to pay and secure accomodation at the in house suites before arrival?
2. In filling out the visa application forms, who will be the contact name in the USA in my own case and my daughters...? As dat of my wife is the cordinator Doctors Para ti?
3. If am able to make up front payments for medical bills and accomodation, what effect will it have in my interview .
4. How much more do I need to arrange for her as I won't be travelling with her because of my work, but will join her when I will be on vacation 2weeks after her birth.
5. I need general advice in completing the online visa application forms for my daughter and I.
your advice and guidance at this point will be highly appreciated[/quote]

@Cos D, Congrats on your visa, where is your departure point? is it lagos or Abuja? My personal advice is to have all your documents complete before you travel and pray to God for mercy. If you can also avoid taking direct flight from lagos to Atlanta and Houston it will be better. you can use Luftansa to Frankfurt and connect to US, by that you are coming in with a lot of white people. Please note that I am not racist ooo, just bn practical in this regard.

All the best.

Hallos everyone, how are we all preparing for the xmas? May God bless us all in Jesus name. We are doing great here in El Paso, the weather is awesome even though we are in December, the shopping has also been great, the bargain has been superb. It has been everyday shopping because the stores are walking distance from Intown suites. They are doing buy one get two free grin. Carters is doing 60% off and you earn $10 for every $50 you spend in the store. We have been going out together, having fun, helping each other and I am planning all day outing for all mothers to-be this Saturday. Will try to post pictures. Wishing everyone Merry Xmas and Happy new year in advance. One Love.

@lollarojo, we bought our tickets all the way to El Paso from Nigeria and according to Omowunmi, she said buying the El Paso ticket in US is a lot expensive so I will advice you to buy all together from Nigeria. I think even if you pay Intown Suites and you are not here before 7pm, you wont be able to get access to your room. The office closes the systems so they wont be able to do anything for you. We had this experience so I know wht im saying but I can still do you that favor by asking on your behalf. Like everyone said in this forum, to me El Paso is alright, if you don't want to cook, then you have more than enough places to eat just by walking cos they r just beside intown suites. Chinese, sea food, Ba-b-q, and I met a naija man that told me there is a naija restaurant just across intown suites. I have discovered short cut to Walmart and other stores, walking distance, good to safe some dollars and good for the body as we all need to do exercise in this US ooooo. Food are cheap and you will eat and eat and eat and eat till you become Orobo. The weather is also cool. Looking forward to ur email.

lollarojo: @firstimer
thanks for the response i appreciate alot i stay in portharcourt also did u buy d (united)elpaso ticket @ d airport or from nigeria meanwhile wot if i paid for the intown suite booking will i still have a problem because i have a reason to believe the hotel behaves like dat because of pple that book and dont turn up,then u said u got another room like different from the one u booked or how..also pls i wld need to send you a mail we wld seriously appreciate more of elpaso information..
Travel / Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by firsttimer: 1:07am On Dec 15, 2013
@lollarojo, the problem with intown suites is that we made a reservation before leaving Nigeria but that reservation didn't work as we had to get another room. My advice is that you should call them 2days before leaving Nigeria to reconfirm your reservation. We used Lufthansa from Abuja to Frankfurt and to Houston and United to El Paso. Lufthansa used the new A380 airbus and we enjoyed every moment in the air. Leaving from Abuja is more expensive compare to leaving from Lagos so everything will depend on your departure point. We were not more than 5blacks from Frankfurt to Houston. I came with wifey and Daughter so our cost may not be useful.
@babababy, thks a lot
@favoured gal, thks
@all, thks for all ur inputs.
@all, I pray everything goes on well with our families in Jesus name.

Hallos my people, we got to EL Paso on thursday and our POE was Houston. We had a smooth entrying as we didnt spend 5minutes with the officer. He asked for our purpose in US and I told him for Xmas, New Year hols and for my Wife to have our baby in US, he asked how much cash, told him, stamped our passports full-stop., no other questions, he didnt even count the money. It was just God cos the guy just started his shift and we were 2nd on the queue. All thanks to God almighty. My wife had her 1st appointment on friday and guess who we saw? Omowunmi. We are staying at Intown suites waiting to host Omowunmi today and Nenih pls get in touch when u r in town. Pls pple, if u r coming to El Paso and you plan to stay at Intown Suites, they close 7pm, we had to stay a night at another hotel and same with Omowunmi so have that in mind cos you may not get here before 7pm. Wishing everyone the very best as we plan to give our children the best opportunity in life. God bless everyone.

@lasun01, your wife's case is a direct one that needs no panic. She should get in touch with Doctorparati, she will pay the $150 and she will get the letter of medical responsibility addressed to the US Embassy in Abudhabi. you of course add your financial capability to the application. you don't have to know anyone before you can travel to other countries. As a matter of fact, they prefer you not have a family because they surely know you will spend more on the accommodation which is good for the economy. All the best

there is no time you can go to the embassy, what you need to do is have all your documents with you and just be sincere about your answers. they are human beings like you and they always want people to say the truth I have worked with them for many years, they are very nice and friendly people. I think you should get a letter of medical responsibility from a doctor and possibly your bank statements showing you can afford to pay your medical bills. You may even do pre- payment and get your receipts to show them at the embassy. Please also commit everything to God's hand. All the best brother.

Hallo my fellow Nigerians, hope the babies r kicking well and I hope all mothers are doing great? God is still on the Throne and God will see parents thru in this course.

Desertorange71, I have come again o. I have very important questions for you even though I guess it has bn said in this forum before.

1. How was the post delivery in El Paso?
2. How fast was the processing of the birth certificate?
3. How did you go about the issue of Nigerian Passport/Visa for your baby since El Paso is far from all Nigeria Embassies?
4. How fast was the processing of the Social Security Number? and finally
5. How many weeks did it take to process all these documents.

This is the best I can do for my wife as I cant help carry the baby, I am sure your husband was superb too. God bless us all in Jesus name.

Good day to you my fellow Nigerians. I have taken my precious time to read from page1 to the very last page and I have been on this site for a while and I am so happy to be a Nigerian despite discouraging attitude of our political leaders. I seen people so passionate about helping others, I have read people arguing and becoming friends in the name of helping others, I have seen sincere people even with their personal disappointment were still able to come here and share their experiences. I honestly don't want to mention names because I wont finish the list,I can only ask God to continue to bless everyone of you guys.

After, several phone calls and emails to different hospitals and Doctors in cities like MD, Virginia, Atlanta and sleepless night on where to go, we made up our minds based on the review on this site and the winner is El Paso, Texas with due respect to others. There responses was superb, we paid the $150 and got our medical responsibility letter which was addressed to US Embassy in Nigeria but later wrote to them that we have our visa already and they changed the address to the Custom and Border Protection for use at the POE. We have also paid part of the money and the receipt was sent to us almost immediately.

Now, my questions goes to DESERTORANGE71 since she recently got back from El Paso:
1. How was your experience as regard mobility like in El Paso? Did you hire a car ? if YES, how much please?
2. How was feeding like? did you eat out all through?
3. How easy was shopping in El Paso?
4. Did you also stayed at Intown suites?

Thanking you as you take your time to ans my questions.

I want to use this opportunity to also say a big CONGRATULATIONS to the new mothers and all the very best to the mothers-to-be. God is still on the Throne and it is well with us all in Jesus name.
