Crime › Re: Hausa Youths Attack Yoruba In Osun, Five Injured by fisaylab: 5:08pm On Mar 11, 2015 |
CaptainOjemba: No fewer than five persons were inured on Wednesday when some Hausa youths at Sabo area of Osogbo allegedly attacked some Yoruba living in their midst.
Residents of the area told our correspondent that trouble started around 1am when some hoodlums, suspected to be of Hausa extraction, stormed residences of Yoruba in the area and attacked them.
A resident of the area, who identified himself as Goke Ogunseye, told our correspondent at the scene of the crisis that some Hausa youths were allegedly smoking Indian hemp around midnight and somebody flashed a torch light on the smokers.
This, he claimed, angered the hoodlums, who started vandalising shops and houses, belonging to Yoruba people in the area.
But the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mrs. Folasade Odoro, when contacted on the telephone on Wednesday, said there was no crisis between Yoruba and Hausa anywhere in the state.
The PPRO said, ” There was no crisis between Yoruba and Hasua. I don’t know where you got your information from.”
A woman, who identified herself as Iya Tawa, said she and other occupants of the house were sleeping when they heard a bang on the entrance door.
She stated that the door was broken by the hoodlums, who threatened to kill them.
She said, “We were sleeping and suddenly we heard a bang on the door of the main entrance. Some Hausa youths, wielding cutlasses and dagger, trooped inside the house and said ‘here are they, they are the Yoruba people we are looking for’.”
She added that the prompt intervention of the police saved them from being attacked
She alleged that five other persons living in the neighborhood were injured by the hoodlums.
Iya Tawa said those injured had been taken to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.
The woman said the hoodlums, who fled when the police team arrived the scene around 2am, later regrouped to continue their attack after the Police had left the scene.

Christianity Etc › Re: SYNAGOGUE: Lagos State Admits Discrepancies In Engineer's Report by fisaylab: 10:40am On Mar 10, 2015 |
mikeapollo: The sitting of the coroner of inquest set up by the Lagos State Government to investigate the cause of the September 12 Synagogue Church of All Nation’s building collapse, is gradually revealing how some public officials took advantage of the accident to put the founder of the organisation into public ridicule, opprobrium and unnecessary vilification.
It is now coming out clearly that neither was the State Governor and his team deterred from any rescue mission at the heat of the accident nor was the subsequent soil-test report as tendered by the State Engineer, the true reflection of the scientific analysis by the experts who researched the site.
In what seems to be an orchestrated bid by some public servants to put the blame for the accident on the good prophet, Pastor Temitope Balogun Joshua, the Lagos State Governor had come to the headquarters of the organization firing on all cylinders at the founder during the heat of the accident.
The Lagos State Governor, Hon. Fashola, had gone as far as inferring that the founder and his lieutenants deterred the Lagos State emergency team from saving lives. Rather, it has adequately been proven that instead of marshalling or superintending any rescue team, the Governor and his men found it convenient to be in the public eye by granting interviews to the media personnel who had arrived at the accident scene.
It would be recalled also that a consultant to the Lagos State Materials Testing Laboratory, Engineer Ariyori Saheed had on Wednesday 4th of March told the coroner that The Synagogue, Church of All Nations building collapsed due to defects in the foundation. This was in spite of the fact that the foundation columns are still standing very firm and erect even as of this moment.
While undergoing cross-examination by counsel to The SCOAN, Olalekan Ojo, the structural engineer could not give any cogent reasons for the discrepancies in the documents which he tendered to the coroner as sub-soil investigation report.
Admitting that there are discrepancies in the documents he submitted to the coroner at the hearing, the engineer also confessed that he did not participate in the laboratory investigation that produced the report. According to him, he only authored the report based on what he had read. He also admitted that he prepared his report overnight due to the urgency of the matter.
Stating that the discrepancies have compromised the integrity of the engineer’s earlier submission, counsel to The SCOAN, Olalekan Ojo told Chief Magistrate Oyetade Komolafe that he suspected an ulterior motive on the part of the state counsel and witness and thereby called for fairness to be applied in the entire process.
Even the counsel to the Lagos State government, Mr. Akingbolahan Adeniran agreed to the existence of inconsistencies and urged the coroner to grant them enough time to study the documents properly before addressing the issues raised.
Counsel to the SCOAN argued that it was unfair for the structural engineer to make a categorical statement on the collapse of the building with conflicting documents which he relied upon to arrive at his conclusions. The SCOAN counsel therefore challenged the veracity of Engineer Ariyori’s claim that the building collapsed due to defects in the foundation.
Earlier, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) had claimed that SCOAN did not allow them to save lives during rescue operation.
But CCTV footage presented to the coroner’s court by the organization’s Chief Security Officer showed that NEMA and LASEMA were not hindered by SCOAN from doing their statutory assignment; instead, they came to the accident site ill-equipped and immediately went about conducting interviews while victims remained trapped under the rubbles.
Meanwhile, nauseated by the deliberate mud-slinging of the Man of God by the public officials, a host of Nollywood stars have expressed their solidarity with Prophet T.B Joshua who they said has been like a father to them and a role model worth celebrating. At last weekend sitting, hundreds of Nollywood celebrities invaded the court premises from as early as 8am. Some of these popular actors included Wale Adebayo, widely known as Sango, Bayo Bankole called Boy Alinco, Ronke Oshodi-Oke, Elesho and Shitta-Bay amongst others.
Chief Magistrate Oyetade Komolafe adjourned proceedings to Thursday, March 12, 2015.

Politics › Re: 15 Parties, Five Presidential Candidates May Boycott Elections by fisaylab: 7:17pm On Mar 04, 2015 |
Kzinne: Fifteen political parties and five presidential aspirants have threatened to pull out of the forthcoming general elections scheduled for March 28 and April 11 over the use of card reader device.
The Spokesperson for the group and National Chairman, Advanced Congress of Democrats, Dr. Breakforth Onwubuya, at a press briefing on Wednesday in Abuja, said the concept of using card readers for the coming elections, as being planned by Independent National Electoral Commission, “has a lot of implications which may negatively impact on the conduct of a credible, free and fair elections.”
He said, “The first drawback is that this device is relatively a new technology that has not been tested or tried in a kind of mock election or previous formal elections prior to this time. This would have enabled the nation and the electoral umpire itself to properly ascertain its workability and efficiency in the conduct of the real general elections.
“The decision by INEC to commence the test-run of the use of Card Readers in some of select states across the country on Saturday March 7, 2015, just less than three weeks to the commencement of the re-scheduled election, would not provide the commission enough time to rectify whatever anomaly that would likely arise from that exercise.”

Nairaland General › Re: My Experience With An Unarmed Robber In A Banking Hall by fisaylab: 9:47pm On Jan 09, 2015 |
iamphilips: Hello nairalanders, good day. Came here to share my experience today being 8/1/15.
I have this neighbour who sells foodstuffs. She travelled for new year so she instructed her relation who sells for her to pay in the money(about 130k) she made since monday into her Diamond bank account...
I was in the banking hall- Diamond Bank warehouse branch, Apapa- when she walked in with the money in her bag. When filling her teller, someone asked her if she was paying in and she said yes. She later joined the long queue.
After thirty seconds, a young man dressed in corporate suit (pretending to be a cashier) came close to her and asked for people who are paying above 100k. About five people stepped out and followed him a few meters away.
He collected their money and teller and asked them to wait on the line so he can go in and stamp their teller.....
Like play like play, the man left. They were waiting not knowing that he had left the banking hall with their over 650,000 naira.
It was later that they reported, the bank manager even came down.......he checked the cctv footage and behold, the gentle man in suit was neither a cashier nor a worker in the bank.
Just like that, he stole over 650k. The security guard said it was the third time it was happening in that branch...my fellow nairalanders, BEWARE!!!
Need ya'll contribution and thoughts on this. Pls our Mods should share this story so as to avoid others falling victims. Thanks. Hmmm,i smell rat, they should arrest all their security, this is not a one man show even some of the tellering.chai |

Read this my post and see the propaganda Sahara Reporters are using: https://www.nairaland.com/2074969/army-still-saying-same-thing
The Army said they are not with Buhari's Certificates but that they have his academic records (biodata) and photocopies of the credentials he submitted while enlisting. So I wonder when did academic records become a Certificate?
