Thank you, Yes, I was placed on AP on Friday in Abuja and it was approved on Monday. Sorry about your experience, maybe you should give it till the end of the week. Ciao D12whizzy: Congrats on your visa issuance! Did you experience administrative processing (AP) in Abuja? Just trying to figure out if delays are more common at Lagos—I’ve been on AP since the 9th for a visa renewal and haven’t gotten any updates yet. Someone I know got cleared in Abuja in just 3 days, so I’m a bit anxious. I need to return to the US very soon for work authorization, and the delay is starting to stress me out. |

CaySax1: Hi everyone. I am about to apply for my Visa interview. However I am just seeing the rule that says your passport has to be valid to the period of your end date. My programs end date is August 2028 and the passport is set to expire March 2028. Please can I proceed with applying. Kindly advise please Please proceed with your visa application, you only need up to 6 months validity on your passport from your program start date on your passport when applying for your visa. You can renew your passport when you get over there. |

Hi Efe, Thank you for your response and guidance, I have tried it multiple times now but the *UPDATE* does not even work at all when I click on it, it does not make any move to reload the page. What do think I can do? Efetobore1980: Hi Fisayo.
Login to your profile on AVITS and follow the instructions (as in the attached screenshot). You can change back to premium delivery 24hrs prior to your interview . OR go and request for premium pick up on OIS immediately after the approval of your visa .

Efetobore1980: Hello. Chose premium delivery from the beginning if you can afford it (though you can change delivery options B4 your interview). If you chose free delivery now and later chose premium delivery after the issuance of your visa it can take 2 weeks to get the delivery of your passport except it you paid for express delivery. Although the stated issues does not happen all the time but most time OIS, DHL and the US embassy misunderstand delivery messages amongst themselves especially changing from free to premium. Ciao. Hi Efe, Please I choose free delivery unknowingly and I will be interviewing next month in Abuja but I am based in Lagos. Please do you know how I can update the delivery option to premium delivery on the Avits portal before my interview so my passport can be delivered to Lagos? Your response would be appreciated. |

FisayoYe: Team #DIY I went for my capturing today at Alausa passport office and due to all the information I gathered here, the process was easy for me. Thanks to you all.
I got there exactly 7:12am and the queue was long ehn. Chai. I sha queued for a while with everyone that wanted to capture but later borrowed myself brain and went to the front. An immigration lady asked if I registered online and she verified my documents, I bought the 500 naira file and I went inside with her immediately.
Pls always go with your original documents and make photocopies too.
I was allowed into the building and was directed to servicom. They arranged my files and I went to one other office for stamp.
Then the long wait started, in all, there was no serious discrimination and no one asked me for money. All the officers did their jobs well.
I didn’t pay a dime apart from the file I bought. Just ensure you have all the necessary documents
