@ayettymama Thanks! @galatico It's not the case, we are not in sex. |
galatico:I don't understand pidgin english. Can you please tell it in standard english? Thanks! |
kpolli:meaning please? tpia.:lol |
@tpia So, start with this thread. Let us sample you here first. ![]() |
Mhismole:THANKS!!! @ayettymama lol. I don't like it either, but he makes no effort to speak standard english sometimes (he knows how to speak very well). It's like I was supposed to speak pidgin english too, and if I ask for the meaning he will not tell. |
OBLONG:You are right. Thanks a lot! |
OBLONG:OK. This is not new tough. lol. He made it clear that he wants me. OBLONG:For this part, I don't know. He did not ask clearly and properly. |
@maximized Oh, OK! Thanks! |
ayettymama:I wrote exactly what I heard. |
maximized:Guys, you are confusing me with a lot of new words. lol. Thanks! Moreover, what other meaning ''you are a big woman'' can have for a nigerian? I'm neither slim nor curvy. |
eina:gbosa? So why did he say it in pidgin english and refuse to translate it? Thanks eina! |
maximized:But he wanted me to have sexual intercourse with him which I refused, and keep telling me he does not have girlfriend. Does the meaning change in that case? |
maximized:By the way, we are just platonic friends ( At least, this is how I see it). |
eina:I called him to check up on him. He tought that I called to yell at him because I was angry. He told me that he knows me well, and I asked him how. |
manmustwac:I'm haitian. I still don't get it. |
freecocoa:Don't worry! As soon as I get the right answer I'll disappear. ![]() |
Ebonyeyes:Are you sure? This is a serious matter. Thanks! |

A nigerian guy told me this, and refused to tell me what it means: Na you be my madam. Na you biko. Please, can someone translate it? Thanks in advance! |
As an haitian myself, I believe that we came from many differents tribes in Africa. Among them, there were igbo, congo, yoruba, edo, fulani, ashanti and many more. Each haitian has the genetic heritage from all this tribes. Therefore, there is no such thing like igbo haitian neither yoruba haitian, but haitian. We still celebrate this through voodoo (more than 101 nations), and among others, each nation in voodoo represents a tribe that exists in Africa or that had existed. It's a way to honor our anscestors, and their sacrifices. It's also the only efficient way we have succeeded to preserve our culture and history. However, in our culture we affectionate Ibo nation a lot; we have songs, foods, dances and other rythms to celebrate them (like the others too). We do the same for yoruba nation, but we call them Nago nation. I appreciate your sympathy guys! Thanks for your concern!!! |
Happy holydays everyone, and again thanks a lot! |
@Igwe. oh! lol! |
@echo- bee Really? lol! Thanks! |
@habumaks andd7thcaller I'm grateful for the contributions you made in this thread. I'm sure that it's not only me, as a young woman who will take advantage of them. However, I had made up my mind to ignore him. Thanks for sharing! @Anabel My friend is the last born and the last son. I don't know a lot about the Igbo culture, but it seemed that there is something special about these kids. @dactrez For sure, your style is different. lol! but I had also understood that it can be a possibility from the previous posters. However, at this stage of my life marriage is the priority #2. |
@olanajim Wow! What else can I say? My friend, you are a germ! I'll just follow your advice. Thank you so much for adding value to my life and may God continue to bless you even more than before! @daniellle and waleski Thanks! @jackmumen It's ok! ![]() |

THE_AMAKA:I think I already have enough trouble dealing with the cultural barrier. lol! I'm blinded by this particular young man, and believe me it's not by choice. |

@honeric01 I second it, Sometimes, we have to take some risks in life for better, right? I appreciate your comment! |
@olanajim Wise words! Obviously, I'm dealing with culpability due to some statements that were made by me; I would have never imagine that I could grow such deep affection for him. I really care about him. The last time we met, he reminded me of those statements while we were arguing; his silence and the pain on his face said it all. I'm a straight forward person, and I did not realize how big his ego is. As a result of that, I decided to trample on my own pride in order to help him heal it, so I become very tolerant and patient without dropping my standards. However, what confuse me the most is the fact that sometimes he seems that he cares but right after He will start misbehaving. I also agree with you about the impact of cultural barrier. It took me time to realize it is an important factor and to stop getting angry for what I saw as bad manners/disrespect. About the lack of communication, I believe that he is a little bit shy too. The last time he had to talk to me about us, he found the courage in 2 bottles of beer. I even had to stop him in order to prevent him from getting tipsy. lol! However, he is getting better. I'm thinking of leaving him alone, but I would not like him to interpret it as another rejection. Thanks a lot my brother! |
