Pundits and analysts have predicted an Argentina vs Portugal matchup if both teams top their groups and make it through the Rounds of 16 and 32.

God please let it happen. 🙏🏾😭

This is very good news indeed. All the 'My sources tell me Chelle will resign" where una dey? The U23 job is a master stroke. The U23 job was reduced to a joke under Salisu and Kennedy Boboye. Inviting a player from the English 10th division when Gift Orban was at his peak was criminal on their part. Better days ahead as his salary has been improved and the NSC will pick up the bills of his assistants.
See them here. Na dem be this

Nehruvia:
Word on the street is that Eric Chelle is likely leaving before the AFCON Qualifiers. I've done my investigation and close sources are telling me that "you know who" are deeply unsatisfied with Eric Chelle's demands and have no intention to even negotiate, talk less of renewing his contract.

Of course take this with a grain of salt but right now I'm so livid.

The biggest disappointment of this World Cup isn't the football. It's the complete absence of a suspiciously accurate animal predictor. What happened to all those mysterious cats and goats and snakes that used to pop up out of nowhere during international competitions?

We have all this advanced tracking tech and match simulators, yet nobody has thought to consult any prophetic goat so far. Abi na only AFCON dey use am?

But I recall an animal being used at the last WC in Qatar. How am I supposed to make accurate bets this year?

I'm slightly disappointed to be honest.

If you watched the match between Ecuador vs Curacao, then you will know that Ivory Coast beating Ecuador 1 nil was nonsense. As bad as Ecuador, ivory Coast could only beat them 1 nil and I'm very sure an average European team in this tournament would beat Ecuador silly. That's to tell you that African teams still have along way to go.
Are you not surprised that in 2026 Moses Simon still can't give accurate crosses of the ball? 🤣
@bold, they will tell you "there's nobody better than him in that position yen yen yen", and I start wondering, how can anybody be worse than Moses Simon in the left wing? I've literally never seen it. Not even with Philip Otele that people were saying he didn't play well in the Unity Cup.

Thank God I'm 1) not a Ronaldo fan and 2) I don't hate Messi. People who do the two are trying honestly. I can't imagine the constant frustration I have to deal with watching this guy make himself look good all the time even at moments where you expect him to flop.

After losing to Croatia on penalties in the 2022 WC, the Japanese coach, Hajime Moriyasu, bowed to the fans, apologizing for his failure.

Another reason why Japan is my team for the tournament. 😃

My relieve about this set of players now is majority of them will ease out ;latest after next afcon ..this group of players are just good individually ,but as a team, d hunger is not dere ..hence d major reason for thier underperformance despite been a star studded team ;No two World Cup appearance during deir time,no afcon title ,nothing ..very poor ,abeg make dem Dey go ,if dem like make dem no win next year afcon 😏
In the last two AFCONs, we only fell to the host nations, Ivory Coast and Morocco respectively. And both teams aren't minnows. They historically go pound for pound with us in team strength. Every other country wey no be host nation for the last two AFCONs collect wella from our hand. From powerhouse to minnows.

Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda are historically not on our level. They are hosting the next tourney though, but I simply can't imagine us losing to them in a major tournament. In a friendly or qualifier, sure. But not a main event like the AFCON.

So simply based on this wishful thinking, I believe we'll win. 😁

Before anyone starts whining about arrogance, I was half joking with this post

Japanese are short but they always score headers. Na wa

They are my team of this tournament.

Used to support France, England and Netherlands but those ones have become African teams. Defeats the essence of international football.

Is it just me or is no one seeing the parallels between this Germany CIV game and the one we played against CIV in the AFCON 23 finals?

The same two late goals that undid us. 😂😂

Can I really hatewatch Morocco this night. Scotland doesn't seem to be a competition.
Personally, I'm not wasting my time. After the rubbish I watched Scotland play against Haiti, their chances of beating Morocco is less than 10%. I wish I'd be proven wrong but omo, I can't be arsed.

USA vs Australia is my last WC game for today.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. As it stands, the U.S.A are the most exciting team at this World Cup. See sweet football nah 😃
I'm telling you. One thing I like about them is they're fearless. They don't second guess or rotate the ball endlessly with no result like the way Portugal and Czechia do. They take their chances and even if you intercept their balls, they know how to quickly reorganize their defensive structure.
