A bride-to-be was shocked to find a secret message from her late mum written on the soles of her wedding shoes.

Emma, 38, who is due to get married in August this year, received her wedding shoes last week and became emotional when she saw her mum's message written on the sole.



Emma's mother was diagnosed with cancer one month after Emma got engaged to Richard. She died in 2017.

Her mother had been given one to two years to live after being diagnosed with lung cancer, Emma said. She had written letters to some members of the family, but "ran out of time" before she could write one to her daughter.



Emma said planning her wedding without her mother was hard. But, to her surprise, a gift came in the post from her mother.

Emma told the BBC: "It’s been so hard planning a wedding without having her with me, and I have had lots of tears."

Written on the soles of the shoes was the message:

Wanted you to have a gift from me on your wedding day. Your wedding shoes are my gift to you.

Hope you have a magical day.

Lots and lots of love and big hugs, MUM xxxx.

Emma said: "I had absolutely no idea, my fiancé knew about it. It was just an absolute shock. I pulled out the one shoe and I saw part of the message and I couldn’t think who it would be."

She said that when she realised it was from her mum: "I started to cry… I was just absolutely in bits. ‘I couldn’t breathe, I couldn’t talk."

Emma shared her story and a picture of the shoes to Facebook, where she got lots of support from web users.

A 37-year-old herbalist, Libaq Alabade, has been arrested for allegedly using human parts to do money rituals in Ajuwon community in Ifo, Ogun State.

Following a tip off, some of the human parts recovered from the suspect include a severed leg of a female and male on February 15, 2019.

Further findings revealed that Alabade owns many houses in the community, some of which are littered with shallow graves, from where he allegedly exhumes corpses to extract preferred human parts for ritual purposes.

However, reacting to his arrest, the suspect maintained that he was innocent. He said: “This is a total set up by my known enemy, a fellow herbalist, named Segun. .

“He had once told me that he would deal with me for exposing him to the police. I was doing security work as an OPC member. I used to help police to identify some of these dangerous elements in our society. .

Segun told me that he would show me for helping the police to arrest him. Yes, I used to inform the police of their atrocities because I cherish a decent society and I have value for human lives.

He just set me up. My work is simple; I have medicine for ‘manpower’, that can make a man ‘strong’ for 30 minutes of sex and herbs that make women pregnant.

A lot of them will come and pay heavily. This was how I managed to build so many houses and marry seven wives,” he said.

On issues of stolen panties, he said it is due to desperate Yahoo Yahoo boys. “It is because of the so much money that they are making from that business that is why our colleagues request for more money and abnormal things. .

Have you seen any woman run mad or die mysteriously after she lost her pant? We only use pants to produce love medicine, not money ritual.”

Colombian coach, Leonel Alvarez, who manages Paraguayan club, Libertad de Paraguay, has been sacked for reportedly sleeping with his player's wife.

Paraguayan media reported that the 51-year-old coach and former defensive midfielder of Colombia national team has been secretly dating Patty Gonzalez, wife of his star player, midfielder Edgar Benitez.

But the model has since denied the rumours on social media, saying “I assure you it’s completely false. "From my side, it’s clearer and I hope people from the club clear up the situation at some point. "The truth is that we have nothing to do with the situation, we are unconnected with what happened."

Alvarez is yet to react to the cheating allegations but his assistant Ruben Dario Bedoya told reporters: “We came to training at 7.30am but they didn’t let us go in. "It doesn’t seem professional to us, it’s shocking treatment. It surprised us because if a decision is made, one must be allowed to enter and take their belongings. It’s disrespectful.”

Libertad's lawyer Gerardo Acosta claimed Alvarez had neglected his "power of management over his staff and players", but did not mention specifics.

He told a press conference: “It has been decided to end the working relationship with Leonel Alvarez and his technical staff for motives only linked with the fulfillment of his contract.

“Alvarez's contract establishes a series of obligations, one of which deals with his power of management over his own technical staff and the squad of players, along with his relationship with the Governing Board.

"Incidents happened last week which made us consider these obligations unfulfilled."

He added: "All the stories that appeared are the product of the fantasy of malicious people, who want to affect the reputation and good reputation of players and families of the club."
