I am a man, 38years old, married, with 3 children (2 girls and a boy). I was with a financial institution for more than ten years before my appointment was terminated 16months ago. During this period, I started a building project which I channeled both my salaries and savings toward the completion. At a point I borrowed money (from individuals) to enable me complete quickly so as to avoid renewing my rent. This loan was supposed to be paid back monthly from my monthly salary.
Then I got the sad news the week we moved in. I was devastated, broken and confused. At that point the only thing on my head was how I would repay the loan since the building project had eaten up my savings.

Today made it 16months that my appointment was terminated and I’m still jobless. In order to take care of some basic things in the house (children school fees, utility bills etc) I was introduced to online loan platform and that was my greatest undoing and right now am deep into it and will only take the grace of God to save me.

My wife’s family lives in a neighboring state and MIL always sends foodstuffs to us every month. I mean every month for over a year(God bless her).
I had applied and still applying for job both online and offline no breakthrough yet. I even got a recommendation letter from a federal house of rep member that letter too amount to nothing.

I’m so tired of the situation and am gradually getting to my breaking point. I have had so many suicide thought but I believe that is for cowards. The only thing that keeps me going are my family (wife and children).

Please I live in Abuja and am ready to do any job as this would enable me pay my overdue loans and also provide for my family. The online loan Apps are threating to send message to my contacts.

I'm tired of my situation please help me.

Hi Guys,

Please I need sincere and candid opinions. I resumed duty as an operation executive recently with an Edu-training company. Be then, I had interviewed for a Store manager job in an hotel on the Island 3 months back. I was supposed to start the store manager job but they didn't get back to me anymore. I reached out to the HR and she said her boss is not saying anything. I had to move on. Now that I just resumed this operations job, they reached out to me and even increased the initial offer. Their reason for delaying was because they were renovating.

My Dilemma: After struggling so much with myself I stupidly approached the HR of my Operations Job this morning to let her know about the development. She asked that if they increased my salary whether I will stay. She offered 90k and I asked them to push to 100k that I would. She relayed every details of our conversation with the owners of the business and they were like I used them as a backup and today should be my last day. However, the husband came back to say I should spend my 2 weeks notice while they get a replacement.

Meanwhile, before the operation's job, I got a Customer Support Specialist role for the same 70k ( and now they are still reaching out to me on a new offer of 100k), I chose the Operation job over it for so many reasons but primarily because I was bonding with my new team very well and liked it there. 3 months later, the hotel is reaching out to me with a basic of 120k, free lunch, transport allowance, data allowance and HMO.

I feel terrible right now. My Mind is with the Edu-training but my body is with the hotel. Please advise.

Quick-one, I asked the HR If they will reconsider their decision If i decide to stay and her response was that they will think about it.





Hello Op,

Staying on your current job is dangerous as your loyalty to your present employer is already in doubt. Next time, don't give all details of event especially to HRs.

I will suggest you go for the Store Manager role. Below are my reasons:

1. You can make a career from the role. If you're doing this, I will suggest you enrol for a professional certificate in Supply Chain Management (CIPS) while you plan your exit outta the hospitality industry (hotel). With your professional certificate, I can guarantee you of better pay and secured role as a store manager or any of the roles in Supply Chain. Hotel is not the place you should stay for more than a year, you only need to stay there to boost your CV and acquire job knowledge


2. What structure is in place in the Educational training organisation? What's their staff strength? What's their client base like? I believe an hotel with HMO and other bonuses you mentioned is structured to an extent but can't say that about the educational institution considering the way many of them sprout out this season.

3. You need the money!

So the guy in this image scammed my friend.

My friend's friend referred her to this guy named Oluwaseyi Ajayi who claimed to have an employment slot in LIRS.

My friend was made to pay 2,000 for the employment form, 3,000 for LASSRA ID card and 6,000 for 3 years tax certificate. He requested for more money because according to him other notable people are interested in the slot but since my friend doesn't give/receive bribe, she told Oluwaseyi she's no longer interested in the employment. She asked that he send the LASSRA ID card and the Tax certificate she paid for.

The guy later told inform her not to bother about the bribe and he further informed her to go to LIRS office for the interview.

My friend went there yesterday for the interview, on getting there, from the gateman to other staff of LIRS confirmed they know nothing about the interview. My friend reached out to Oluwaseyi Ajayi and directed her to Alawusa Secretariat where he claimed the interview will hold.

My friend moved to Alawusa Secretariat and from there the guy stopped picking her calls and later blocked her on all platforms. Further investigation made by my friend revealed the guy lied and he isn't a staff of Lagos State Government like he claimed.

Note that my friend wouldn't have fell for this cheap scam but for her friend whom she trusted so much that referred the guy.

She made payment into a First Bank account number with account name being Amusa Kazeem
