Thanks for the information. I work with one of the banks in Nigeria as a branch Manager. How can relate it to the question

Hmmmmmm. Dicey one. Do they really need you to be in the event? How important are you to the organisation? Why not apply just for visit/ holiday?

This thread needs serious cleaning. We can't even see questions from people. Oga, with the long reply you need to chill. All the experienced guys that helped out 2-3 yrs ago have all left this thread. Great information was dished out back to back. Now everywhere is full of long essay. SMH

You were given a visiting visa? I never attempted it as I was told that having an immigrant petition will lead to a refusal.

I've waited 11 years, I believe I still have another 10 years. Thank God, my life here is pretty ok, so either way, I don't mind.

It doesn't stop you from getting a visa.

To whose account?
Why did the embassy gv me visa on same bill I paid

Rules change. I don't know how you can do this but I know someone has done it here. You can also try to think back to the first rejection. Something must have triggered the refusal. The only thing I can think of is the bill. It is too low for a non citizen. Hopefully experienced mothers will tell you what to do.

For me I paid Hospital 4k, Dr 2700, epidural and hearing cert 1800, lab test around 400 so around 9k in Houston while 2nd birth in LA was around 6k.

Pls what do we do, appeared wt hubby and 2kids while 2 kids are citizens

Your bill was heavily subsidised. Find a way to pay the balance.

If you are a citizen then file for her immediately. She will be with you in one year. Please don't stress her with another visa appointment.

After all the tussles and being made to pay 7000 naira because nysc registration is closing soon, I was attended to, and the name change was a very easy procedure.

However, the name change is still yet to reflect, and I still can't register for nysc.

I hope nysc intervenes

Has your name reflected? Please keep me updated. I know someone going through same thing.

Thanks so much. No, she is not coming for Omugwo. She intends to stay for 2-3 months and then go back, until next time she can visit again. Yes I provided family pictures. Does she need my bank statements to show I will be providing for her expenses.

She doesn't need it. You can still give her if you wish. Their concern is to make sure she comes back.

Good day everyone, please I am a LPR in the US and applied b1/b2 visa for my 64 yrs old mum. Her interview is early next month. Pls what are the necessary things for her to go with?. have provided her with some already. And what kind of questions can she get asked? Is there a translator at the Lagos embassy for Igbo language? She speaks and understands English but not so fluent. Thank you

Most VO's speak a Nigerian language. There will always be an interpreter. I hope she's not going for omugwu? Most mothers that go for omugwo overstay. They don't like it. She shouldn't lie though. She should only answer yes if asked if thats what she's going for. There's nothing much, they might need her to prove the relationship between you two. Let her take some family pics in case.

If the no phone policy was because of porn, but access to the boldest Apps is allowed then the idea is defeated! Those boldest sites has a huge number of porn videos.

Until the person is caught. They have a very serious disciplinary panel. Nobody wants to risk expulsion or extra year. They do not care about family background. Rules are rules and must not be disobeyed. Everyone is given a handbook to read and sign before resumption. So people going there actually know the rules and are OK with it. The school has a mix of Christians, Muslims and atheists. They are not complaining. Na state uni and fed uni students are complaining for them. These guys are fully focused on their academics.

This is a University and not a secondary school why restrict the children from phones and laptops and also from talking to their parents?

Well I wish them well all those that can send their kids and wards to a glorified jail all in the name of quality education.

Please ignore the publication. They use tabs and laptops. Students speak with their parents DAILY!! Each student is given 50gb for Internet activity.
It is funny how people complaining on this thread are not CU students or Alumni. A school Muslims also choose and people are on this thread tearing themselves up. Internet access is the least of their problems. The major issue are the other rules. No romantic interactions, must attend some chapel services or programs, rigorous academic program etc.

A school environment is a simpler example of the larger society and history has proven that one of the foremost things abusers do is to disconnect their victims from the outside world or closely monitor their communication with others.

Think of why the Supreme Leader of North Korea banned phones in the country.

The major reason they're denied phones is because of their authoritarian founder and totalitarian board. The students are disconnected from any support system outside the environment. For example, If a lecturer slaps a student, there would be no recording. Students will also be oblivious of what is going on in other schools and would not be emboldened to ask for better welfare.

If students were allowed to use phones, we'd know the true status of the mass poisoning that has been reported. However, since there are no phones, any report the school management issues to the public is final- exactly what North Korea would do.

Dictatorship should not be supported. That is why we're lending out our voices to the students who deserve better.

Do you know any student there? They are not complaining about phones!!!

Just asking...so Covenant university students do have access to social media, meaning they can use their phones?

(I'm not surprised porn sites are banned...and yeah, it makes sense to me).

YES!! They have access to all social media. The use tabs instead of mobile phones.

Oga CU is ranked 801 in the world and the 1-807 uses mobile phone in their school. You think is by going to CU, go and rest even the best student in Nigeria will beat the so called CU student hands down. They’re just inside Religion prison by their parents

Stop being bitter. CU is the best private university in Nigeria. Also one of the top three uni in Nigeria.
Stop crying!!!!

Thank you very much for your response, and indeed I’d need to Apply for an emergency appointment cos the date attached to the letter is already very close.

Please if your visa is for tourism/ holiday then don't apply for emergency. On the website you will find those qualified to apply for emergency appointments. Please don't mess up your chances of getting a visa.

if you don't feel the need to provide value to this thread, then that's ok. Some folks genuinely come here looking for value. Pretty sure no one is scrolling through 395+ pages and counting just to listen to chit-chats.

So funny. If you want information then you have to dig for it here. Nobody handed it down to us just like that. Use keywords and do your search. If you expect people to answer questions the exact way you want it then I don't know what to say to you. To further help you, look for thread 2 and 3. Go read transcripts there. Hopefully you get what you need.

Hello everyone, please my dad's interview is next month. Can he say that he's visiting the USA to see his daughter and her family, and also probably to see a doctor for his mouth ulcer (which is obvious). He is also 71 years.
Please advise on the best way to answer the "why are you visiting the US?"

Did you apply for medical visa? If no then don't mention medical check up. If you feel he has to mention then be ready to show proof that he can fund the process.

Congrats.

Guys, let's provide more critical information as that's the purpose for posting here. Stuff like, what you do for work, what took you to those countries (eg school,) how old are those other visas, etc are what helped your application significantly, and not disclosing them is not that helpful for those here. Try to be as descriptive as possible without doxxing yourself.

"Me and friend are planning to visit Niagara Falls... my friend's house in New York" will weaken the average person's visa application, but not for a profile like yours, hence the importance of those.

Note how the VO went further to ask for your old passport and verify your travel history, it meant they were still undecided until they saw the history, age, and status of those visas, and could as well have denied your visa application if you didn't have your old passport with you. Therefore, your interview wasn't that great, your travel history 'saved' you. Average folks with no travel history should not "visit a friend and 9/11 memorial" not gonna work, just saying.

PS: A friend's visa success didn't make sense to me until I found out they were born in the UK (shown on passport) and it obviously played a huge part.

Are people supposed to come here to ready posts and decide on the purpose of their trips? No one owes you a feedback on their interview. So if you see one be appreciative and pick what you can from it. Coming here to poke holes and tell him the information he should share and what not is going overboard. Thank you!!

Additionally, I have a trip outside the country for 17th Feb leaving me with 4weeks from dropoff safe instead of 8 weeks advised by the US consulate. Does anyone know the average processing time for iwp from dropoff to pickup in lagos

Go for your trip. There's no guarantee your passport will come out in 4 weeks. They are almost unpredictable.
