A sensational year in which the Portuguese striker has won the European Championship with his country as well as the Champions League with Real Madrid, sees Ronaldo add a fourth award to his collection.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the staff of France Football will carry out an interview and take the traditional photos with the player on Thursday, so he will know before the announcement on Monday that he has triumphed over Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann.
In a special program that will start at 17.30 CET on Monday, the French magazine will reveal the positions in which the final 30 nominees have finished, and leave the announcement of the winner until just before the end of the programme at 20:00 CET.

An 11-year-old boy has been kidnapped and
slaughtered in Kano state.
The Punch reports that the Kano state police
command confirmed the horrible incident on
Tuesday, June 7.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Magaji Musa
Majia, the spokesman of the command, said that
the boy, identified as Musa Salisu, was sent on
an errand by his father within the Naibawa
quarters of the city at about 2pm on Monday.
However, the boy failed to return home and his
parents raised the alarm.
Abubakar Kafinta, the boy’s uncle said that the
family became worried when the deceased did
not come back home.
“It was not immediately clear that the boy was
abducted, until three hours later when an
unidentified source phoned the family members
about the unfortunate development.”
“The abductors demanded N500,000 ransom, to
secure the boy’s release or else they will take his
life,” he said.
The uncle added that the family reported the
matter to the police and made efforts to meet
the demands of the abductors.
“We contacted them (the abductors) through the
same line they used to call us this morning
(Tuesday) for a deal only to learn that the boy has
been slaughtered.
“The abductors further gave us a detailed
description of where they deposited his corpse at a
spot on Eastern Bypass, Kano,” he said.
Meanwhile, the police spokesman disclosed that
two suspects had been arrested in connection
with the abduction of the boy.

Arsenal paved way for more African
footballers to play and thrive in the English
Premier League.
The former Super Eagles skipper joined the
Gunners in 1999 and helped Arsene Wenger’s
men lift two Premier League trophies, two FA
Cups during his five year at the club where he
boasts of 44 goals in 198 games.
February 18 marks his 17th anniversary of
signing for the club, and the 39-year-old has
fond memories of his time in north London.
“I believe I was the first [African] person who
came to England and did very well,” Kanu told
Arsenal Player.
“After that, the doors opened for African
talents so, with Arsenal behind me and what
we did with Arsenal, everybody now tends to
follow the English league.
“When I came over I saw a good coach who
saw the best in me. I was a good player
because he made it easier for me to play.
“Everybody believes that English football is all
about playing the ball up, not keeping it on
the ground, but Arsène has his own idea of

A daughter who met her dad for the first time
after tracking him down was then raped by
him, a court heard.
The woman, from Melbourne, Australia, was
determined to meet her real father after
spending 20 years apart from him.
Back in 2014 she found him in Queensland.
She learned that he had a history of violence,
but decided to invite him to meet her and her
family.
He took his son and partner to visit her home,
staying in the spare bedroom.
The woman, who cannot be named, told the
court that she was "really excited to see him
[her dad] here and finally meet him". She added: "This was the first time meeting my
father.
"He was happy to see me too [...] I was just so
excited and happy to finally meet my real dad."
They were home alone together when he
attacked her.
He said: "Give dad a hug" before kissing her on
the neck and groping her.

She pushed him away and said to him in
anger: "If you're gonna be like that you may as
well take me to your bedroom."
He told her "I love you forever" before then
raping her. In court the woman said: "I didn't say anything
or do anything.

anything. I was worried I might get hurt. I
thought that if I tried to stop him, he would get
angry.
"I knew he had a very violent past and had
been in jail for physical assaults.
"I felt gross that it was my Dad. I just wanted
to get in the shower as I felt so dirty."
After her husband returned home she told him
what happened and he informed police officers. The dad said in a police interview: "OK, I'm
gonna tell you. She made me have sex with her
... I tried to say no.
"I didn't want to lose her."
But the 38-year-old dad later pleaded guilty to
one count of incest and was jailed for four
years.
He has appealed his sentence however, with
judges agreeing to reduce it to three years.
