I will agree on some of your points but PHP is getting more updates like the PHP7 and it has a growing community, Facebook, Yahoo, Google and top gaint still use PHP as part of their applications. I haven't work with fintech but I once work for a start up that wants there users to send and receive money (Dummy Money) within the site. It was achieved with PDO which works fine with MySql as the database. Talking about handling large users , well I think that should be from the aspect of database, request, api , data structure , site structure, frontend framework etc. PHP may not be good for financial transaction because of its security stuff, but it doesn't mean it cant be use. According to bank history , they have been existing before the creation of PHP, their database structure has being build with .NET and Java cos that's what they started with when going into the digital world. But PHP is the best on other areas. You can use it to build anything very very fast. Also it is very popular, you can easily find solution or debug your problems quick. Not by taking a language that when you run on into a bug you get frustrated for weeks even months to get it fix unless u working as a team. I will advise anyone reading this, Please add PHP to your Portfolio. PHP is improving and its going to stay for a long time very long time unless 80% of the site it powered will be weap off which is impossible for the next 100 years. |

Good morning group, I will like us to talk about this micro framework but powerful to be use for large project. Its like the lite version of python but very easy to learn within 3weeks. It has a very large libraries to handle all your components and it work best with React, Vue and Angular. For mobile app like React Native etc Have anyone work with it before. You can start an environment in a few line of code. Please let's share experience.... Thanks

True talk... I was desperate to learn new language after school, I wasn't interested in JavaScript because its syntex looks like spider web ( jaga jaga) so I went into php, after some months i find it too easy but never knew how powerful it was, I left php to learn laravel after my elder brother introduce me to it, I love the fine red zigzag logo lol. I was good in front end so I need a backend advance knowledge but after some times I found laravel to rigid I got to switch to react because of its real-time update and first experience with react blow my mind. After typing your normal npx install on the command line, that rotating React logo that comes after on your browser when your server is ready was my first sign that this is the language I want, but I got a big problem, I need good knowledge of JavaScript . During all this time all jobs that has being coming to my side was php. Had to go back to php and start upgrading new php7 features. I no go lie its a lovely experience. I tested Node.js, iconic and react native. PHP is here to stay at least in Nigeria and the creator are improving on it everyday with a large community. Later find out that React can accept any back end you throw at it. Na wa o Nairaland self na PHP. |
