chibuezecu:
I REGRET PLEDGING TO NIGERIA

I ask God to forgive me for pledging to Nigeria as my country
The country is such a disgrace.
The country offers almost nothing to its youths.
A country were youths spend millions for their education.
A country were graduates roam the streets day-to-day in search of unavailable jobs.
A country were if you don't know anybody in authority, nothing for you.
A country were government policies discourage any business youths ventured into.
Country were armed robbery, kidnapping and prostitution has become the other of the day.
The leaders loot and steal the country dry, remaining almost nothing for the people.
The country makes almost no provision for the weak and vulnerable in the society.
You see mad people and beggars roaming all around the streets and government made no provision for the rehabilitation of these people.
You see those in power using the instrument of state to silence the opposition, lock them up, use the press to malign their reputation and prosecute them in court.
A country where you will wake up one morning and hear that herdsmen have invaded an entire village and killed both women and infants, and after the initial hues and cry, nothing substantial would come out of it.
A country where in this 21st century, you will go to the nation's capital, Abuja and there will be no electricity for a long time, and even in other parts, Nigerians mostly provide the own electricity.
A country where policemen would be openly extorting money from motorists on the way, and everyone would look the other way as if this is normal.
A country where we read news of people being shot because they refused to give a policeman N100 or less.
A country where soldiers would abandon their statutory functions turn themselves to a terror to the citizens, delving into domestic and civil disputes and beating up to a pulp whosoever they want, for every flimsy reason.
A country where merit is thrown behind the back door and people from one region are appointed to head almost all choice department and agencies of govt.
A country where hunger, inflation, suffering, and hardship is the normal.
A country where the easiest way of being rich is to have political power.
A country where you have an absent president, no one is eve sure whether our president is awake or sleeping, no one is even sure whether we have an Acting president or a Coordinator of govt, no is very sure who is in charge, no one is sure of anything.
A country where a people can come on national TV and threaten a particular ethnic group to pack out and give them three months to pack out from a part of the same country, and up till now, no one has arrested them.
A country where both the military and other agencies shoot to death unarmed protesters, and no single military personnel is asked to explain.
The more I look at this country, the more I am convinced that the country has not treated me well.
How could I have pledged to a country like this?
Was this what I had in mind when I recite The Pledge?
This cannot be.

chai!! what happened

Politics / Re: "No One Can Point At A Single Lie From Me" - Lai Mohammed by folasayolyn(f): 1:45am On Jun 06, 2017
Liberty Radio and Television, May 6 2016
While trying to justify Buhari’s globetrotting, Lai claimed that Buhari is getting invite from world leaders because “they have the confidence to discuss with” him “the issue of the looted funds”, citing his invitation to the 2016 so-called anti-corruption summit in London.
This is a lie.

British leaders famously described Buhari as a “leader of a fantastically corrupt country” who is coming to the 2016 summit at his “own expense”, so obviously they neither thought Buhari had any integrity nor did they have any confidence to discuss with him the issue of any looted funds

Thursday December 29 2016
In a statement in Lagos, Lai said that a former federal permanent secretary at the Ministry of Power who retired from office recently bolted away with 40 brand new SUVs and other vehicles.
This is fake news.

Channels TV Interview, Wednesday June 1st 2016
Lai blamed Boko Haram for rising cost of tomato in the country, noting that the increase in market price of tomato “is a direct result of the fact” that the country “lost two years harvest to Boko Haram insurgency”.
This is a lie.
Lai’s colleague and federal minister of agriculture, Audu Ogbeh had earlier
explained that the invasion and consequent destruction of tomato fruits in tomato farms in some six tomato-producing states by a pest,
Tuta absoluta was responsible for the fall in supply of tomato which in turn drove up its market price.

Ramadan lecture, Kwara state, July 2nd 2015
Lai told his audience that “in a couple of days the ministerial cabinet list” of President Muhammadu Buhari “would be made available”.
This turned out to be a lie.
The ministerial list wasn’t made available “in a couple of days”, rather it was close to three months thereafter when the first list of ministerial nominees was received by the Senate.
Politics / Re: "No One Can Point At A Single Lie From Me" - Lai Mohammed by folasayolyn(f): 1:38am On Jun 06, 2017
May 27 2016
Lai told members of the Broadcasting Organization of Nigeria that the administration of President Buhari is “ready to feed 5.5 million school children once daily”.
This is a lie.
The administration of President Buhari was not ready to feed any 5.5 million school children once daily, which explains why its school-feeding programme crashed few weeks after it took off.

3.Campaign Recantations
It was Lai Mohammed who told Nigerians the promises of the APC during the election were actually not from the APC. The APC denied its key presidential campaign documents: “My Covenant with Nigerians” and “One Hundred Things Buhari Will Do in 100 Days.” Buhari himself presents one of the documents in the first person, saying: “The covenant is derived from the manifesto of my party, the All Progressives Congress. It however represents my pledge to you all when I become your president.”
But once he became president, Mohammed denied them. He swore that: “Buhari never promised to do anything in 100 days, that’s the honest truth.” However, when APC Senators were forced to vote against their own campaign promise to provide N5,00 monthly to 25 million unemployed
Nigerians, Mohammed declared that the government already has 1.4 trillion naira recovered from banks through the TSA ready to fulfil the promise. He said we should expect it in the 2016 budget.
These are his words: “The
non-implementation of the payment policy so far is due to the fact that it was not included in the 2015 budget. The Muhammadu Buhari administration has been busy putting in place measures that will make it possible to start the implementation of this project.”
This has turned out as usual to be an
other tissue of lies. The 2016 budget was announced, and there was nothing about the N5000 stipend for the 25 million unemployed.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: How Being Educated Brought The Biggest Shame Of My Life by folasayolyn(f): 11:49pm On Jun 05, 2017
BornAgainMay:
Bro you are not alone.

Last two months I rounded up my service, I rushed back to Lagos with the hope that I will secure at least a teaching job to start with as a graduate of political science education.

I got disappointed bcoz anybody can actually teach that Government /Social studies and civic education without the required qualifications. My intent was to teach and garner more experience and then proceed with my masters.

As I am talking to you now, no teaching vacancies around. No job anywhere. I had to apply to a laundry man position around my street.

When the secretary saw my cv she wanted to slap me. Saying I should be out there looking for something meaningful. I laughed and just told her that she won't understand.

I was lucky to gain the job as a laundry man and I believe God who has been keeping me alive knows why I am passing through all these..

Embrace yourself and know that you're not alone

since you are in Lagos go online looking for Tutors, there are several services. For 2 tutoring clients 3 times a week 6 days you could make over 70k. the distance may be an issue
