LMAO the matter tire me. Na so dem take dey start propaganda and before you know it, acrimony don enter. Orogun has a common border with Amai and we consider ourselves one! We've never had an inter communal clash despite being so close. When fulanis invaded our bushes, Orogun people chased them from Orogun to Amai, and Amai people joined hands till we crushed the invaders.

My both great grandmothers were from Amai. My great grandfathers from Orogun. My great grandmother was the Onwai during her life time being the oldest woman then. When she passed on, she was taken back to Amai despite marrying an Orogun man to be buried. Till date we have a family house there and Amai was our favorite holiday spot. We went to hunt snails there during the holidays because Amai people didn’t really eat snails.

If the OP isn't being mischievous, perhaps he'd have also said many Amai Ukwani people speak Orogun Urhobo too (ours is deeper than the usual one just as okpe Urhobo) because as I said, we are very much intertwined.

Case study being me; I speak only Urhobo, but my parents are very fluent in Ukwani language, my grandparents too. But I wasn't raised up speaking Ukwani, probably because I didn’t grow up in Orogun and my parents only use it to communicate amongst themselves.

Perhaps you're making a honest observation and not one of those mischievous generalizations I may not know, but I hope I've been able to educate you on the topic.

They are turning to Ukwuani in mass,though some will still tell you they are urhobo by culture but prefer speaking and acting as Ukwuani people.

Few days ago,a friend of mine from that area was speaking ukwuani and saying they grew up learning ukwuani language and prefer to speak it.

The passenger side tyres tore like it was riddled with bullets, and it was a bushy area.....




We heard a siren blow and a police van ordered us not to park there that hoodlums kidnapped people there...

They had to follow us to the nearest filling station, which was thankfully near an army checkpoint.


The rims had given up too at that point ( rims wey I buy 250k)

I was so mad I couldn’t even talk to the driver again.

The policemen came down and asked what the problem was .. they offered to bring down the tyre and sorted things for us.

We had to sleep in the filling station that night for the car to be worked on the the next morning!
That particular night, without being signaled to come, 4 Warri boys helped us get new tyres and transported it to the car’s location without collecting money. I was shocked by the hospitality.

The next day, the boys again took me to where I’d get rims and everything for the car, which was beyond amazing.

I had to squeeze 3k to the supposed leader, as they refused to collect anything.

I got back to calabar yesterday afternoon, and I’m riddled with repairs worth 300k+
