I have notice something alarming among the urhobos of orogun and it is something very serious.

They are turning to Ukwuani in mass, though some will still tell you they are urhobo by culture but prefer speaking and acting as Ukwuani people.

Few days ago,a friend of mine from that area was speaking ukwuani and saying they grew up learning ukwuani language and prefer to speak it.

Have you noticed it?

Shouldn't be a big deal. Urhobo, Isoko, Ika and Ndokwa are the same thing.

Oga that's a pure big lie! I'm from Orogun just so you know and we've always spoken ukwani right from the beginning, probably because we share a border with Amai or we inter marry alot.

No Orogun man will tell you he's not Urhobo or abandon Urhobo culture for Ukwani. Don't get it twisted!

You said we PREFER acting as Ukwani people and I take an exception to that! Then about young people speaking Ukwani more, that's also a pure blatant lie too; except those persons grew up in Orogun, or the parents speak it at home alot, because It's usually the older ones who speak more of Ukwani as most of them grew up at Orogun.

Case study being me; I speak only Urhobo, but my parents are very fluent in Ukwani language, my grandparents too. But I wasn't raised up speaking Ukwani, probably because I didn’t grow up in Orogun and my parents only use it to communicate amongst themselves.

Perhaps you're making a honest observation and not one of those mischievous generalizations I may not know, but I hope I've been able to educate you on the topic.

Nairaland is the perfect media for the divide and rule tactics of the north to thrive.
Fake Monika, fake identities etc
Almost all the foolani here are using Igbo Monika to fuel hate between Igbo's and Yoruba's

U WILL BE SURPRISE HOW MUCH INFORMATION NORTHERNERS GATHER ABOUT THE SOUTH.

I WAS SURPRISE WEN ONE OF THEM STARTED TALKING ABOUT ABANDON PROPERTY IN PORT HARCOURT AND ALL THE VARIOUS ETHNIC GROUPS IN RIVERS.

THAT IS WEN I KNEW, THEY HAVE BEEN DIVIDING THE SOUTH DELIBRATELY.

LMAO the matter tire me. Na so dem take dey start propaganda and before you know it, acrimony don enter. Orogun has a common border with Amai and we consider ourselves one! We've never had an inter communal clash despite being so close. When fulanis invaded our bushes, Orogun people chased them from Orogun to Amai, and Amai people joined hands till we crushed the invaders.

My both great grandmothers were from Amai. My great grandfathers from Orogun. My great grandmother was the Onwai during her life time being the oldest woman then. When she passed on, she was taken back to Amai despite marrying an Orogun man to be buried. Till date we have a family house there and Amai was our favorite holiday spot. We went to hunt snails there during the holidays because Amai people didn’t really eat snails.

If the OP isn't being mischievous, perhaps he'd have also said many Amai Ukwani people speak Orogun Urhobo too (ours is deeper than the usual one just as okpe Urhobo) because as I said, we are very much intertwined.

Who takes a hermaphrodite seriously? He's a sufferingboy with a female gender attached to his moniker. No be madness be dat?
This same character has been praising Ndokwas in other threads but is concerned that Oroguns are speaking Ndokwa. He's not Ndokwa and neither is he Orogun, so what's his business in their interaction? We Know the evil people who fear 'those people from the other side'. The nightmare of the terrorists just began.

I like the way use put the sentence together. Orogun and Amai joined hands and crushed the invaders. Quash them like the bedbugs that they are.
No room for divide and rule down South.

NATURALLY, WITH THE KIND CORDIAL RELATIONSHIP BEING ENJOYED THERE, I WILL BE SURPRISE IF THE UKWANI DID NOT SPEAK OR UNDERSTAND OROGUN.

OP, IS OUT TO DISTURB THE PEACE IN THAT AREA.

All the Orogun people I know speak Ukwuani and you won't know they are Urhobos unless they tell you. Case in point my neighbor married to an Ukwuani man from Okwele. It is after she died that my parents told me she is an Orogun woman.
