Ikembz if what forkdragnet said is the truth, it'd be difficult to put the whole blame on him because there's no way he'd have known the condition of the laptop since it was been sold without RAM & SSD.

The thing is that you can start up a laptop with the RAM and no storage device, you'd know the laptop's fine but without RAM, a laptop can never come on and we won't expect forkdragnet to have those on him just to test the laptop; even an engineer won't be carrying RAM or storage devices everywhere he goes....

It's a difficult call here...

According to what I'd read based on the laptop that was sent over, the laptop on eBay belongs to the category of "FOR PARTS ONLY" and items like this are only bought if the buyer already had one like that but was looking for a peripheral or missing unit...

If the laptop was sold as either; used, manufacturer refurbished or seller refurbished, then it's absolute nonsense.

There's no point in Ikembz buying the board and splitting the purchase of it if forkdragnet knew how much a board costs. It had better not be an i5 or i7. It's a different thing if the details of the laptop was stated at first, before sending it over; then both parties can find an amiable solution but a "dead on arrival" laptop is a big NO-NO. We'd love to hear the story from the other side too...
