i appreciate all the response i received (polite/not),

i sincerely apologise to everyone whose opinions on my question to guide a friend were misquoted or who's views were attacked, its one of the uncivil, un-intelligent en un-social trait of some of us, which needs to be corrected.

Please let us learn to respect and acknowledge the opinions or views of others irrespective of our religious, moral, cultural,...differences.

lets say no to hate words, attack on personality, abusive words and the likes.

this message of mine is not to condemn any specific individuals here but its aim is to condemn and to restructure the wrong approach to public discussion particularly on social medias among we nigerians

please fellow nigerians, african and the entire world, follow peace with all men.

May we prosper in all our endeavors

Please, for someone with a one way ticket where's the best place to change Naira to Dollars asides from mallam?

i think currently, Sabo is the nearest place to get dollar, banks dont want to sell, they dont want to give out dollaes in cash out not even for PTA(personal travel allowance). They can pay school fees directly to ur school account but no cash in dollar
(my experience)

Good day, I did like to ask if I am applying to four schools am I to pay all four application fees or is there a way to get a waiver

you are expected to pay an application fee for each of the schools you are applying to except if any of the school waive it for all applicant. there is nothing u can do to avoid paying the four application fees. ( based on my knowledge so far)

Good day,
Beautiful people, I have an issue, am sorry I used an agent but she doesn't want to release my i20 until I make payment for agency fee then school resumes on the 8th of August and I asked for a scanned copy which she refused. This has causing lots of issues in my family they claim she might be lying . My question is can one resume school after the said date and what to do to remedy the situation. I found out about this site when I had already started the admission process.

(in percentage) how much have you paid her and how much is left?

its not good to use an agent, why then are we a student/graduate if we can not go through the rigor. Well some were due to lack of proper orientation/information, this not withstanding using an agent to process admission is not okay.

my advise (take it or u leave it). forget about her, start a new processing, search for schools, write exams and never be tired of asking questions no matter the response you get.

My thoughts exactly... If you didn't fill yes to having relatives and all, wherever the destination is. just tell them that was the best price deal you could get at that point in time. That you'll be taking a bus to your school...

Okay, thanks.

Your question is not clear however in anything you do, Make sure you enter the US before the start day on your i20 which is 15th August if you don't want your village people to win. Going to visit a friend first/family before resuming to school is not a crime, you are not the first and you wont be the last, so rest your mind.

Thanks, i really appreciate you @femi312, you have answered my question.

i would like to know how i can over come my fear at the point of entry.

i mailed my school that i will be coming on the 26th of this month(arriving new York on the 27th), that i will visit a friend in another state in US before resuming to the school in August (the official date of resumption is 15th of August),

I Inform the school not come to welcome/pick me at the airport that my friend will there for me. At-least b4 academic rigor start again, i should cool off with friends en family a little.
my question is HOW WILL I AVOID HAVING ANY PROBLEM AT THE POINT OF ENTRY(POE)

A female-friend of mine booked her flight for the same earliest travel date(July 23) on her i20, , her school resumes on August 22 (orientation)
is she safe or she should reschedule her flight.
i told her not to worry that she is covered but she insisted to hear from Nairalanders.
( she planned to resume that early; to learn some skills needed for her program organised in the school holding on the 26th of July, to sort out accommodation and other things)

its over to you sirs/ma. should she cancel her flight and fixed another date

fairheart:
NOTICE TO STUDENT VISA HOLDERS:
As at last night, @ Georgia Atlanta, a student visa holder (a Nigerian and cousin to my friend's friend) was turned back home after his visa was cancelled. The reason is that he did not leave Nigeria at the date stated on his I-20 that he should resume. He had waited more more months; that is, he should have left few months back. So when he got to the port of entry, he was sent back.

I am not saying this to put fear in anybody here, but pay attention and make sure you get your ticket in time. You have your visa already, and so you have no business waiting in Nigeria --EXCEPT your school resumption date is still more than 30 days. Please be warned! I wish all of you safe journey.

I advice all of you to leave latest 5 days before your school resumption, and make sure it is less than a month before your resumption. If you come in when it is still more than a month before your resumption date, forget it, you will be sent back live and you will need to buy another ticket. Be warned! And more importantly, AVOID LAX--Los Angelis International Airport, except you are going to that area. People are having issue with immigration at this port of entry! This information is coming directly from Texas, US.
Emmanuel.

Hi,
I was denied visa two months ago,
I think because I was not convincing enough about my job description or probably fear of being denied.

I am planning to re-apply,
*I don't know what to do after paying the visa fee again.

*what should I expect?
**am I using the same ds 160 or I will fill a new one
***I need Orientation about visa re-application.

***** note:
I read the transcript part 10 b4 I went for the interview then.

I am new on this platform, please I need your guide towards getting my visa (I am expected to resume in August).
