Politics › President Jonathan Hiding PWC Audit Report On Missing $20bn. by fortunes0215(op): 1:13am On Dec 27, 2014 |
Missing $20b: Mystery Over Audit Report, Nigeria’s Fi Nigeria’s most powerful Minister, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has refused to release the much-publicized probe set up to investigate the theft of $20 billion from the country’s treasury through the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). In February 2014, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, who is both Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, told Nigerians that the federal government had appointed independent auditors to look into the books of the NNPC and unravel the huge theft which had been exposed by Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, at that time the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). Nigeria's minister of Fiance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala Sanusi, who subsequently became Emir of Kano, was booted out of the CBN by President Jonathan for exposing the scandalous graft and misappropriation of funds at the NNPC. Sanusi also exposed the laundering of billions of dollars in revenues that ought to have accrued to the NNPC by shady businessmen close to the president, especially Jide Omokore. Okonjo-Iweala, deflecting criticism, re-affirmed in May that the accounting firm PriceWaterHouse had been hired to probe the allegations and that the report would be ready by the end of November. On December 7, one week after that deadline, SaharaReporters wrote to the minister requesting a copy of the audit. Neither the minister nor her assistant on Media, Paul Nwabikwu, responded to the request. SaharaReporters also contacted PriceWaterHouse global offices in the US to request information about the completion of the audit and to ask for a copy. In a conversation with Steven Silber, who serves as press contact for PWC’s Auditing and Accounting Center for Board Governance, Risk Assurance Services Deals, he requested an email stating our request. We sent that email immediately but Mr. Silber did not respond to it. anonimi: The fuel subsidy was approved and duly scrutinised by the NASS and the 36 state commissioners of finance as it affects how much they share from the Federation Account each month, which is largely derived from Niger Delta oil revenue.
Given your concern that unapproved money is being spent for an unapproved Office, could you please let us know if you have written petitions to the senator & representative for your constituency to look into this In your imagination...Over 1 trillion naira was approved for fuel subsidy..Seems your saTANical tendencies have beclouded ur sense of reasoning. What has the senators done to curb extra budgetary spendings that they themselves corruptly benefit from. We would sweep all of you away by 2015 lagbara Olohun.Gbogbo eyin akotile ta. anonimi: Do you mind referring us to where you got this information about the budgetS approved by our SINators and representaTHIEVES every year
I hope it is not one of the usual LIES & PROPAGANDA on which the whole Association of Pretending Crooks, APC is built Your clueless drunken fisherman from otuoke spent over 1trillion naira on fuel subsidy in 2013. Show me where that was appropriated first then I would show you where all the money given to madam shippopotamous was approved. Mou mou saTANist. |

mou mou read well before u comment next time. Show us where office of the first lady is written in naija's constitution. Yet the cluesless one appropriates money to madam shippoppotamous which is even more than the budget of some states. Thats impunity at its peak. No wonder ur clueless oga said stealing is not corruption. Dbboy: How would you have an office for the First Lady ? You neither regard them as human being nor see them as your equals down here in the north that's why parent in the north donate there daughters as suicide bomber because they worth nothing to them, women should not have anything to do with this man because it would be 'back to the kitchen' for them. I guess under GEJ women are respected as seen in the USA but if they Nigeria women think the prefer role in the kitchen the are free to vote the opposition as for me I have nothing to loose but for the sake of empowerment, equality and equity. Women should vote GEJ cos he has empowered them. We are in Nigeria not Saudi Arabia were women have no right but see as sex tools. |

ziccoit: SS/SE may not have a free day of rigging like 2011 where Buhari, I could call independent candidate , was mercilessly rigged out. This is a new era. The guy is now contesting under a party with structure so you people should expect a different outcome.
12million against 22million with massive rigging both South and North was commendable. PDP is loosing sleep because they know the red card is about to be drawn out. |

It's safe to assume GEJ would secure 99% of votes cast in the SE. Sincerely thats incontestible. Fortunately for APC, voters turn out would not be more than 60% of registered voters even far less. APC only needs to ensure trusted party agents man each polling booth to ensure results recorded reflect the votes cast. Unlike 2011 where there was voter apathy in the SE yet results were inflated to show 99% of voters turn out. |

mamajohn: I have said it here before that the greatest problem of GEJ in Ondo State is the governor of the state Dr Olusegun Mimiko. The people of Ondo State has since left the governor because of his attitude, the people are eagerly waiting for the general election to pay the governor back for his deceits If GEJ can find a way of managing the governor and relate with the old PDP members in the state, he might win but for the governor to spearhead his campaigns, doom beckons Buhari's popularity is growing phenomenally at the moment Are you based in or a native of Ondo? Please shed more light on the current trend in Ondo. Thanks |

Even in Lagos where I used to think that they hold sway, they have lost it, people in Lagos has nothing Good to say about them again. If not that if PDP wins Lagos, Nigeria would be seen internationally as a one party state, na why PDP dey leave some states for them. In your wildest dream. EzePromoe: The devaluation of the naira is something that was bound to happen. It's unfortunate that all these while we've solely depended on crude oil and now that the black gold has lost its value, what were you expecting next? Point of correction OP, that the naira was devalued doesn't really mean that the price of every goods will go high. That can only be determined by the inflation rate. That is to say that garri will still sell at same price even if naira falls to 200/dollars. Correct. Not all goods would be affected by price increase. Those of imported goods and products which are produced locally with imported raw materials will increase. Time to think entrepreneurship, export and patronage of locally manufactured goods. More positives than negatives though. Salary earners would need to get pay rise. |
