UncleJudax: Not talking about beggars and alms. You and I know we deserve more than we are getting from our politicians. It is not particular to Igbo politicians, but we can be different.
And from your thoughts, I dare say we are on the same page. You need a certain level of self sustenance to be an independent state. We are not there yet, and even if we were, Biafra is not necessarily what we need to be the 'talk of the town'
Ndewo! its been 45 years since the war ended, if we don't start being self sufficient, we might never be. now is the time. |

joseph1832: Don't mind the shitheads. Many of them fail to know that the war they're craving for, should it happen, they guys will be drafted to join the army, while the girls may even end up raped and abused.
I wonder why they haven't learnt and read about the happenings in Somalia and The Rwandan genocide.
War is something a sane mind should never clamor for!. then lets call a bloody referendum! fear of the aftermath of war isn't going to stop inter tribal hatred and its destructive effects. |

Masterclass32: Hmm .... Folks are not even seeing the bigger picture.
I usually do not comment on Biafra threads. But I will make this one exception.
Given: Nigeria is a mass of mess right now and we are not very much in love with each other but splitting Nigeria is not the solution either. Forces behind the scene are engineering our break up but somehow we don't seem to be able to see it. The plan is to sponsor different uprisings in different regions and cause us to fight ourselves. Why do u think our efforts to procure weapons to fight the BH boys were blocked? Beacuse a well-equipped Nigerian army will crush boko haram - which they don'twant. Hence the flimsy excuses. How do u think Nnamdi Kanu became so powerful recently? Entering and leaving Nigeria as he pleases? Some forces are supporting him. I recently heard Biafra has been invited to a UN organised meeting. They want to break us up so we can be easier controlled. Once we break up into tiny countries, they will install their loyal puppets as presidents and we will be worse off than before. This is the essence of neo-colonialism. Remember our break-up was predicted years ago and much resource has been put into making it a reality.
Anybody with at least one eye can see the great potential and destiny of Nigeria. These people have seen it and are bent on nipping it in the bud. They don't want to allow the glory of the black race (Nigeria) to shine, cos when it does, Africa will far better off by it. The looting of Africa will cease. Make no mistake: Nigeria IS the crowning glory of the black race. This will become clearer as time goes on.
So do we (Igbos) remain slaves? No. I know too that an Igbo president is coming, soon enough. Whoever thought an Ijaw man would rule Nigeria the time he did? Our time is coming.
We are being goaded to our destruction. If we continue on the path we are on, BLOODSHED in imminent. But Nigeria will still not break up. I hope is doesn't get to that.
We are better of united despite our differences. One Nigeria it is. sentimental talk! was it foreign powers that caused the civil war, pogroms in the north, Oba of lagos' threat, fashola's deportation etc. any mischievous thing the foreign people wanted to do has been done in the Berlin conference of 1888 that partitioned Africa. haven't you wondered why Nigeria is surrounded by french speaking countries? it was done so that the ethnic nations don't merge with people from these surrounding countries that share culture with them and form stronger nations. |

UncleJudax: The first charge should be about modelling a viable and enviable eastern region. Independent state of Biafra would not guarantee you prosperity. We would still be dealing with these same unrepentantly reckless and parasitic politicians. Look at Southern Sudan the average Igbo man is not a beggar! last night I was thinking about how commercial cattle rearing and tomatoe farming would be practicable down here in the south so that my people would not be inconvenienced when the north starts to misbehave and so that I can make cool cash in those periods if they arise. |

Anybody who wants Biafra and is asking for Violence shud go and arm himself, and his family members to fight d war and leave d entire igbos out of it. I stand only for one Nigeria. I am an Igbo man too, I am against Radio Biafra's tactics just as well as I'm against this 'we are one Nigeria' dogma, I want Biafra, Niger Delta republic, Oduastan and Arewastan to be actualized peacefully. owobokiri: In the 60s, the igbos after a series of well orchestrated campaign of calumny/violence directed against them by the rest of the majority tribes in Nigeria, asked for the loosening up of the Nigerian federation, the same way Indians and the Pakistanis and Bangladeshis sat down and worked out seperate unions, but this noble idea was ruthlessly stone-walled by the rest of Nigeria. Rather than chart a course of peace, Gowon and his brothers in genocide unleashed a genocidal campaign basically to cleanse the Biafran enclave of any indigenous ethnic grouping. Biafra didn't ask for war. Biafra wasn't interested in war. War was forced on an unprepared Biafra and the butchery tha followed has become an infamous badge of honour worn with glee and expressed whimsically with taunts by these groups whose only stake in the Nigerian state is to contineously fashion out ways to loot Biafran resources.
Fast forward to 40 years after that brigandage/carnage, an ideologically placid lawyer, out of his frustrations with the Nigerian states vicious attempts to stunt the developmental strides of his biafran people, started a non violent agitation for the freedom of his people. He was deliberate, painstakenly carefull and very detailed in his peacefull pursuit of this very noble goal. What was Nigerias government reaction to this? Killings, more killings and many more killings. Today, Uwazuruikes peacefull engagement with the Nigerian state over Biafra has become a source of derision towards him as fellow Biafrans and sympathetic nigerians who have always pointed to his grand delusions in thinking that you can peacefully nudge an intoxicated-power drunk king kong back to the part of peace contineously remind him of his follies that have cost a reasonable amount of lives. Biafra has never fought a war with Nigeria per se. Biafra was simply invaded by different powers for obvious reasons. Biafra is now getting set for an inevitable confrontation with the nigerian state and that's where the kanus become even more relevant. Nigeria asked for this. There would never be a Biafra vs Nigeria again, The illusion of oneness in this country that loosely binds the ethnic nations together is wearing off. |

A referendum will determine how many people want to secede or stay. |

KINGOFTHEEAST: God bless nnamdi kanu he is the ojukwu of our time I rebuke you! Ojukwu had full control of his emotions, he was driven by his love for Igbos not hate for the Hausa-fulanis and Yorubas. Nnamdi Kalu is not fit for being at the frontline in the struggle for Biafra. |

obailala: Oh Yes we have different languages, different values etc etc... but I have carefully examined the problems we face day-to-day and I do not believe isolating ourselves is one of the best solutions.
As long as your mind is focussed on isolating yourself first, you will never be able to see the real problems or the real solutions. Probably when you eventually isolate yourself and find out you still suffer the same problems and even more, then you will realise that isolation shouldn't have been one of the solutions. But then, it would be too late. Look beyond your nose brother, stop living in the past! You have not looked beyond your own nose to realize that bad leaders are not being scrutinised because in this rainbow of ethnic nations, people would rather blame the other tribe for their woes. |

obailala: On the contrary, you are simply living in dreamland and have exhibited an incapacity to look beyond your nose. Not being able to look beyond your nose is insisting that you stay in an unsuccessful country, slave traders forced on your Great grand fathers. I and the Hausa-fulani have almost entirely nothing in common, different fears, different goals, different interests and belief. |

obailala: Sentiments of people like me?... how do you mean?
Just like a prophet, you are so 100% sure Nigeria would be friendly with Biafra and this is the delusion we keep giving ourselves. Haven't you seen cases of friendly countries suddenly breaking ties?... Do you ever put that into consideration or you suddenly think the world is a perfect place?
I am from the SE but I am so not ready to flash my passport whenever I want to move around from my village to Lagos or Abuja or even Port-Harcourt (I know most secessionist erroneously assume the Niger-Deltans want to go with Biafra but that is another huge delusion).
Go and take a look at nations that divided, Congo, Sudan, Russia, Korea etc and study the outcome of their division instead of constantly painting this Utopian picture in your head. If there is any ethnic group that badly needs Nigeria to be one, it is the Igbos because of the wide geographic spread of our investments.
Regional autonomy is the best idea through which we can achieve everything we can possibly achieve in Biafra without having to balkanise the country; that is even what Ojukwu clamoured for in Aburi before things went sour and he declared Biafra. Regional autonomy Yes!.. but I am certainly not in support of changing the name or map of my country. You are just being mentally lazy and afraid of change. If men thought like you, there would still be slave markets. |

Bluetooth2: Ibos are confused.
Some want Biafra
Some want to stay in Nigeria because theycant do without Lagos and South west.
Some want Nigeria because the east is a gully-infested landlocked territory
Some want Nigeria because they want to produce president
Some want Nigeria but can't stop screaming marginalization.
Some want Biafra yet they don't want to leave Lagos which is in the South west.
The issue is " what exactly do iboes want ?" What do you want? You don't like Igbos but you go into defence mode when you hear biafra and secession. You say you want one Nigeria but you won't let Nigerians be in Nigeria, you even call yourself a host to other Nigerians right here in Nigeria. |
