U must be high to think that the #158366.35 nah ur potential profit. Multiple laying is the exact opposite of multiple backing. A lay odd of 9 means that the team are pure underdogs. U will notice that for such a team to have a lay odd of 9, it means it has a back odd of 8. What this means is that for a team that has such long odd, they have a low chance of winning; so that odd has a high chance of happening. Just like it is difficult for a team with a back odd of say 8 to win the match, it is easy for a lay odd of 9 to happen(although there are exceptions as we have seen cases in which teams of back odd of even 42 wins; these are the rare cases). The high lay odd means the event is likely to happened in ur favour so u have higher liability because of that.
In the example u gave of a team having a lay odd of 9, with just #500 in ur betting account u can staked #50 on that event, ur liability will be #400 and ur potential profit is the amount u staked which is #50.

Assuming x is the lay odd of a particular event, and the amount u staked #y, ur liability is
(x-1)*y

U are rite. Though the thing there is that if u stick to laying any event, just make sure u don't waver... Like today u lay favorite, tomorrow u lay non-favorite, the 3rd day u lay draw... Nah, just stick to one. If u want to lay draw, just lay draw thruout and ensure u liability for each bet is the same thruout, so that u don't have a case where u lose more and all that... So if u take #1000 as ur liability limit, u know that anytime u lose, u lose just #1000; and not a case u lose #2000 today, #3000 2mao and so on.

The formular for calculating the liability is: assuming the lay odd is x, we work like this
(X-1)*ur stake

U can even lay the DRAW. In this case as long as the match doesn't end in a draw u win. If u look at stats u will notice that 85percent of games ends as win; so laying the DRAW is also a very nice strategy. Just make sure that u liability is uniform in all the matches in which u lay the draw. And u can make it a point to only lay draws with draw odd of between 3.80 and less

The liability is the amount u stand to lose( that is the meaning of liability). The exact amount u staked is the exact amount u stand to win. If u lose, it is the liability u lose. If u win, the liability+profit is returned to ya bet account.

I think u sud google to know how the liability for lay bets are calculated. Buh if u make a lay bet of $10 on a team with a lay odd of 1.50, u liability is $5(meaning u stand to lose $5) and ur potential profit is the exact amount u staked which is $10.

On betting exchange sites u have the back odd as well as the lay odd(sometimes u may not have this) for a particular market. Taking the bayern munich match played today, it has a back odd of 1.19 as well as a lay odd of 1.19. What this means is that if u back bayern munich to win at a odd of 1.19 using #10000, u potential profit is #1900. So u stand to win #1900 if bayern munich wins the match, buh u stand to lose #10000 if they lose or draw the match. Since bayern munich are heavy favorites, the back odd is really short cos they have a very high chance to win.
Now with the lay odd of 1.19, I place a lay bet with a stake of #10000, my liability is #1900. This means that if bayern munich wins the match, I lose that #1900 buh if they fail to win i.e if they draw or lose, I stand to win #10000. The idea behind this is that the #10000 I win is the #10000 of 'the punter' who placed a back odd of #10000 to win #1900; buh since bayern munich failed to win, he lost his #10000 which the betting site pays me.
Assuming bayern munich went ahead to win their match, I lose #1900 which is used to pay 'the punter' that back bayern munich with #10000 to win #1900. That is why it is called exchange betting.
The main thing is that laying is the opposite of back; and while in backing u stand to lose the exact amount u staked, in laying u stand to win the exact amount u staked.
Also in backing u stand to get a potential profit, in laying u have a liability.

I want to drop a strategy u cud use on a betting exchange site such as naira.stake. The strategy is called laying the favourites. From experience, one will notice that if u make a deposit of say #10000 into a bet site, u eventually lose everything even when u back the so-called sure bet. So this strategy involves: y not back against the so-called sure bet(in other words laying the favourite in amy match). A bet exchange site offers u this opportunity. So wot u need to do is to make a deposit of say #30000 to any betting exchange site like bet.fair or naira.stake. U lay against the favorites playing on singles. U make sure that u liability is not more than say #1000 for any match u bet. So if u play 30 games and u lose like say 13 and win 17 u still make profit as long as u kip to the rule of making ur liabilty the same in every bet u place. Essentially the idea behind the strategy is that since in the long run u lose all the money in ur bet account thru backing, it means that in the long run u stand to gain if u bet against the favorites i.e laying the favorites. A good strategy is to select the 30 games u want to play, and place all the bets the same time before each day begins and then U GO TO WORK... This is just one of the many strategies I have up my sleeves. Though I don't really use this coz my style has greatly evolve... But at least this will help the newbies...
