OK lemme kickoff with the institutes. AUST guys don advertise themselves tire so no need. You ve gotten all you need to know. I ll start with mine, which is OFFSHORE TECHNOLOGY INSTITUTE, UNIPORT. The institute is just 4 yrs plus hence still in its formative years so competition to enter ain't that much cos ppl don't know much bout it like it's brothers. They offer courses that will deepen your knowledge in the offshore oil and gas exploration, production and maintenance of offshore and subsea structures industry. You have three MSC degrees to choose from.
1. Offshore Engineering (obviously)
2. Pipeline Engineering (for both onshore and offshore facilities)
3. Subsea Engineering (the new babies/hotcakes in town) Jux started last 2yrs while the other 2 started since the inception of the institute.
For the first 6months all depts learn together and only learn their function specific courses in the last month thereabout. So you ll have a good background in the three courses even if u hv an MSC in just 1 which you'll be a master of.

Course work is 8months of weekly grueling lectures and exams (like all other Institutes) and 3 months internship(only OTI, cgrp and COE(6MONTHS)) do internship. The institute tries to source internship for you but if you can find by yourself good cos they may not be able to get for all, all the time though they try. Also OPITO Boshiet training is compulsory for all students as its part of your tuition fees. Ermmm I think this is enough. For those looking for gbagaun here. Pls face front o tongue
How much is the tuition fee of OTI if u want to self-fund?

Nigerian Oil firms?

Those are like bottomless pits to invest your money.

The only Money Nigerian Business men don't mismanage is their own personal money, they mismanage bank loans, that's why AMCON pursues them day and night.

They also mismanage investors funds by living lavishly above their means.
What u just described is a classic example of Moral Hazard. It describes a situation whereby one party takes excessive risk knowing that he doesn't have to pay for the consequences. ..

Why push a 2016 thread to the front page when about the 95% of the posts have been removed? I know the op is concerned about plagiarism, buh then the purpose of it all has been defeated. I promise myself from now on not to read any story on nairaland cos most of the updates end up been removed especially on getting to the juicy part of the story...

Yeah... I remember that post u made abt the win. Though even at inplay, bet.fair gave a odd of 250 for that scoreline when the score was 2-0. Bet.fair has the best odds in the betting world. For example, in the yesterday bayern munich match, nigerian bookies gave a odd of 1.19 for bayern to win while bet.fair gave an odd of 1.35 for bayern to win. No site fit beat bet.fair odds.

The truth is that if it weren't for bet.fair and naira.stake I wud have quit punting, esp naira.stake as they are the only exchange site in Nigeria. I have a strategy that can only work with exchange sites(that is y I cud make up to a million in a month). So the thing there is that I really can't reveal it as it will put a big load on naira.stake if everybody knows it. So I will like the punters in the hux to start a campaign demanding that their bookies become a betting exchange site or the punters will all quit from using their sites. U can start by telling the owners of naira.bet,merry.bet, bet9ja and 1960bet to become betting exchange sites. If all Nigerians can quit from these bookies that only offer sportsbook, these bookies will change to exchange betting by force. If u guys can do this for me, i.e MAKING ALL NIGERIAN BOOKIES TO BECOME AN EXCHANGE BETTING SITE, I can let u on my secret; because my strategy only works in exchange betting. And if everybody moves to naira.stake, naira.stake will be over-worked and that will not be good for me or for anyone. We will end up fighting over the little 'resources', so to say, available in naira.stake; culminating to ' betting cannibalism'(so to say) and what have u. So let the campaign begins and see the wonders I can do for ya guys...

Nzecorneboy: @bolded 'not to win' or 'to win'? Do bookies offer that market? 2ndly do u think laying d fav to win i mean with an accumulator isn't good cos u still win wat u stake if u win and evn loose higher cos d odd is more higher? Jxt asking
In the match in question, I layed liverpool at a lay odd of 1.01. What this means is that I win the bet if liverpool fails to win i.e if liverpool draws or loses. Since the game eventually ended with the scoreline 3-3, I won the bet.
I think u guys sud stop using the expression 'laying the favorite to win', u end up confusing urselves. U say u lay the favorites meaning u are saying the favorites won't win. An accumulated laying of 7-8 favorites is a good strategy because all u really need to win the bet is ONE favorite that fails to win.

opisco01: I think I love this laying idea. But the best market to lay is 0:0 correct score. Please which bookie offers this. I can make 10k per day with this laying thing.
Bet.fair offers the 0-0 correct score market. And I tell u bro, the liquidity is so much. Problem is the lay odds are always high( sometimes up to 10-16). So anytime a game ends in 0-0 u lose big time.
Good thing is that bet-fair offers all correct score u can think of even half time correct score and most of their games goes live so u can do inplay correct score betting. The reason I don't play this is because of the liability involved. I don't like losing at all. During the world cup, 3 ppl on bet.fair were able to predict the correct score for the Brazil vs Germany match. The back odd for the 1-7 scoreline was 1000, they placed $11 and won a whooping $11000.
Business / Re: Football Betting Season 8...AGE!!! by francesclxg: 12:27pm On Jul 22, 2014
Dopefiend:

Spot on! frances its like betfair dont do multiple laying.
Yeah... Bet.fair knew how easy ppl will be winning if they do multiple laying because the draw market on bet.fair has so much liquidity and all ppl need do like aueeeh said(sorry if I didn't spell the name rite) is to select like 5 games and lay draw. That is wot I wud have been doing. Coz that is 100percent certain. So bet.fair knows this and they know some customer have up to $50000 in their account to sustain the necessary liability involved in making such bets.
Business / Re: Football Betting Season 8...AGE!!! by francesclxg: 12:19pm On Jul 22, 2014
aumeehn: this exchange betting stuff is somehow confusing and intresting @the same time.....unlike normal betting....in exchange betting the lower the odds the higher d win while the higher the odds d lower d win....unlike normal betting were d higher d odd the higher d win nd vise-verser.......hope am right @francesclgx
Yeah... U are rite. The reason this is so is that a low lay odd means that u have a high chance of losing, so ur liability is low becos of that. The opposite is true for high laying odd.
The good thing about exchange betting is that sometimes u have the opportunity of winning big time. For example, picture this: Team A is beating Team B 2-0 as of half time. Because team A are leading with such scoreline, their lay odd will be really small say 1.02. U can lay team A with #10000 saying that they are not going to win. Ur liability in this case is #200 but ur potential profit is 10k. If at the end of the match team A ends up drawing or lost, u win 10k using just #200.
One thing with bet.fair is that if u make sure bet, and luckily team B scores 2 quick goals in the 2nd half,d half making it 2-2, u are already in profit and u can cash out like 70percent of ur potential profit such that even if team A ends up winning at fulltime, it is no longer ur business as u have already cashed out the bet. There was a time I won 100k playing with a lay odd of 1.01. That game was last season match of liverpool vs crystal palace. Liverpool were leading 3-0 at one time so I layed liverpool not to win with 100k. My liability was #1000. Luck was on my side that day, I won a 100k.
Business / Re: Football Betting Season 8...AGE!!! by francesclxg: 12:08pm On Jul 22, 2014
aumeehn: okk watov iv u combo.... man v everton liverpool v crystal palace..and u lay on all the away teams....i tink the odds ill not be high and the chance of winning is high or wad u tink
Yeah... The chance of winning is high cos u only lose such bet if both man utd and liverpool loses. Buh the thing there is that the lay odd of crystal palace can really be long let's say 7, and if the lay odd of everton is say 4, u have an accumulated lay odd of 7*4 i.e 28. It means that if u stake a #1000, ur liability will be #27000. That is u stand to lose #27000 if man utd and liverpool loses their game.
Business / Re: Football Betting Season 8...AGE!!! by francesclxg: 12:00pm On Jul 22, 2014
opisco01:
Can u just give us a perfect example with this odds. Chelsea 1.4 vs QPR 8.5 if I lay chelsea with 500 how much do I win if chelsea fails to win.
If 1.4 is chelsea lay odd, and u place #500, u stand to win the exact amount u place which is #500 if chelsea fails to win(i.e if chelsea draws or loses). Ur liability is 500*1.4-500 which is equal to #200. The #200 is immediately deducted from ur account. If u win, the get ur liability back(#200) plus ur profit(#500).

Hahaha like frances pointed out, the total odd would not guarantee good ROI. Why not lay about 7 or 8 heavy favorites, atleast one or two must Bleep up.
Yeah. That happens like 90percent of the time. So it a good strategy. I remember when I started out betting, that was wot I did for like 6 months and I made good profit on that. One or two always almost Bleep up sha. But anytime all the favorites win, u go cry; buh that hardly happens
Business / Re: Football Betting Season 8...AGE!!! by francesclxg: 11:51am On Jul 22, 2014
Dopefiend:

Lol u clearly dont understand lay betting. In the screenshot u posted above, u need to have a total of 159,000k before u can place that bet and if the bet wins, u win only N300 but if you lose, na approx 159k you lose be that. Simply put, the amount you stake x the lay odd -1 is your liability i.e. money you will lose if the event dosent go in ur favor. E.g you stake 5000 on a lay odd of 6. The calculation would be 5000 x 6-1 i.e. 5000 x 5 = 25000k. The 25k is ur liability (money you lose if the event doesnt go in ur favor) while the 5k is you profit should the event favor you.
I love ur explanation. I cudnt have said it better. I was having a feeling that my explanations are kinda technical(don't mind me jare; maybe nah too much book*smiles*). Anyway, thanks for explaining the subject so simply and to the point.

As I said, u have no idea of wot laying means inspite of all the explanation we have given on the subject. So pls, I think there is enuf info on the internet to get an idea of anytin we don't know. Pls make use of it.
Business / Re: Football Betting Season 8...AGE!!! by francesclxg: 11:38am On Jul 22, 2014
aumeehn: guys i tink i ve an idea on this exchange betting stuff......y not accumulate five soccer games and lay on draw...u see out of this five 2 or 3 ov d games ill nt end in draw...u see the chance of winning is almost 100%.........or wad do you tink oga francesclxg
U are rite. That bet is 100percent sure but it is almost impossible to play because of the following reasons:
1. Draw odds are always high and by the time u combo 5 games with a draw odd of like say 3.5, u have an accumulated lay odd of 3.5*3.5*3.5*3.5*3.5 which is equal to 525.2. What this means is that u need #524200 to win #1000. And how make punters have that in their bet account??
2. Most Nigerians don't bet on draw, so the liquidity on the lay draw market will be low. So in many cases u realize that u only have a maximum stake of #50 on sure market.
However, if u are contented with gathering 50 nairas, no problem u will continue to win and win and win.... But it is a slow process.
