Politics / Progressive Igbo Youths Appeals For Nnamdi Kanu"s Pardon by franchizy(m): 7:48pm On Jul 30, 2016
At an extra ordinary general meeting of the progressive Igbo youths forum held at the popular All Seasons hotel owerri on the 30th July 2016, it was unanimously resolved that a delegation of the forum shall meet with His Excellency Owelle Rochas Okorocha, Gov Okezie Ikpeazu, Gov Umahi and Gov Obiano to relay our appeal to the president Mohamadu Okechukwu Buhari, The Eze Ogbuagu 1 of Ndigbo for the unconditional pardon of Mazi Nnamdi kanu.

The chairman of the forum Mazi Cletus Ahamefule expressed confidence that the president will harken to its appeal stressing that Mazi Nnamdi kanu is now remorseful and willing to appologize to the FG and renounce his union with the IPOBand Radio Biafra.

Earlier on the secretary Mazi Kelechi Madyabuchukwu expressed his hearty gratitude to senator Wabara led team for their approaches towards the release of Mazi Kanu and urged them not to relent in their efforts.

The forum uses this opportunity to warn all so called IPOB youths to desist further from any activity that is against the laws of the federation stressing that all hate speaches must henceforth stop.

The forum urged all igbos to support the government of the day and wall themselves with the fear of God as only then will the blessings of God come true on the people of the south East.

The forum urges Nigerians to forgive Mazi kanu of all wrong doings and join their voices for his unconditional release as Mazi kanu is now a changed man and willing to embrace peace.

Whether Kanu sponsor a competition or nor, my own is that the FG should hasten up and sentence him to life imprisonment.

As for the IPOD youths, i wish our gallant military more bullets to their guns to do the needful.

Biafra is dead buried and decayed. We remain one Nigerians.

I condemn this judgement, i condemnit, i condemn it.

This is a day light robbery and a shame on our judiciary.

I call on the NJC to probe and investigate the judges.

This is not the change we voted for. this is a miscarriage of justices.

I reject this judgement and i call on all Nigerian youths to rise up to their voices and reject the judgement.

Nigeria i give up.

I blame the supreme court for this great lose of PDP. No way APC can win a ward with the existence of card reader.

Now those of us that rejoiced about the Rivers and Akwa Ibom verdict will now cry.

I see APC rigingtheir way come 2019 and taken over all the states in south East and South South.

My tears today on this lose by PDP will hunt the justices of the supreme court.

I must not fail to congratulate Rochasand APC for this great victory. indeed i have realize that elections are not won online.

I will keep wailing until the senate includes the supreme court vetdict into the electoral Act else i see our great party dying a natural death come 2019.

At this point, i give Edo and Ondo state to APC. Congrats to APC in advance.

I condemn this appointments, i condemn it.

This is a clear marginalization of the igbos.

For Gods sake what have the igbos done to this government that we are marginalizwd like this.

We igbos voted for Buhari massively except that elections were rigged.

We reject this appointment and urge Buhari to order its reversal without further delays.

Comparing a pre election matter to a ost election matter and quoting the electoral Act are my major griev iances.

We await the verdict of Appeal Court though I must admit that Ikpeazu is on a tight rope

My brother, there is no tight rope here. No way the law can be twisted to favour ikpeazu as this is a pre election matters.

Similar cases like this have been decided by the supreme court.

Moreso the justice of the Appeal court to whom the matter was assigned to has ruled severally in similar cases to favour the Respondents.

I see ikpeazu vacating office today and subsequently he will be arreted to face a case of forgery.

One would have expected ikpeazu to honourable hand over to Uche Ogah and seal a deal with him not to allow him arrested.

I see ikpeazu ending up in jail.

Kindly read section 143 (1)&(2) of d Electoral Act. Let me make it easy for u:

143.(1) If the Election Tribunal or the Court, as the case may be, determines that a candidate returned as elected
was not validly elected, then if notice of appeal against that decision is given within 21 days from the date of the decision, the candidate returned as elected shall, notwithstanding the contrary decision of the Election
Tribunal or the Court, remain in office pending the determination of the appeal
.

(2) If the Election Tribunal or the Court, as the case maybe, determines that a candidate returned as elected
was not validly elected, the candidate returned as elected shall, notwithstanding the contrary decision of the
Election Tribunal or the Court, remain in office pending the expiration of the period of 21 days within which
an appeal may be brought.

You seem to be a charge and bail lawyer. No experienced lawyer will quote the Electoral Act for pre-election matter.

You can quote the electoral Act from now till enternity, Ikpeazu will vacate office by force.

kahal29:

My brother I understand your sentiments and predicament but like I replied you before let me repeat my self again

No court will deprive a judgment creditor the fruits of his Labour.

Meaning that if Ikpeazu thinks he will get a stay on monday as temporary relief then he should think again.

Like T.S Ogundaini. ESQ said

Normally, no court will want to grant a stay of execution as a matter of course and that is why an applicant seeking this discretion of the court in his favour must therefore show special or exceptional circumstances why the court must deprive a successful litigant, the fruits of his success---See the following cases SPDC v. Arlio-Joe (Nig.) Ltd. (2003) 1 NWLR pt 845 pg 19, Dada v. I.T.L (2005) 11 NWLR pt.936 pg 293

Secondly, A successful litigant (Ogah) is entitled to enjoy the benefits and reap the fruits of his judgment and nothing ordinarily should be done to obstruct this right. In the words of Niki Tobi , JCA (as he then was) in Lijadu v. Lijadu (1991) 1 NWLR (Pt. 169) 627 at 644, nothing should be done to make the victorious party leave the court in "victory" without victory.

This case is very bad it doesn't look good at all. If not the Governor would involved the man who defended him at the tribunal ie Chief Wole Olanikpekun. See, A lot of legal blunders were committed on the Governor's part. Its only the grace of God that can save Ikpeazu now.

My brother why waste your time to educate this people who only comment based on sentiments.

Even the grace of God cannot save Ikpeazu. No justice of the Appeal court can Order a stay of execution now.

The truth is that ikpeazu lawyers and supportets are not sharp or smart. The compate a pre- election matter to a post election matter theteby relying on the aealectoral Act.

I strongly believe that by monday ikpeazu will be forced out of office and immediately he will be arrested and prosecuted for forgery.

His Appeal is already Dead on arrival.

My brother, even those won't help him. he should have done so in the same court or Appeal court. Foolish lawyers

My brother some lawyers are hrartless because they want to eat money.

They had enough time to file a stay of execution sincean Appeal hasbeen filed but they ignorantly never did so rather they adviced the governor to declare a public holiday to buy unnecessary time.

I wont be suprised to hear tomorrow that Uche Ogar has been sworn in. if i were Ikpeazu i would have honourablly vacated the office and seek for peace from ogar to prevent him from arresting and prosecuting him for forgery.

A case of forgery has been established now against Ikpeazu and the man is in a hot soup except he sues for peace.

May God help his supporters to teason wisely.

The law must take its course. Though Ikpeazu should have approached the same court for a stay of execution pending the outcome of his appeal at the Appellate Court.

I don't think an Abia High Court can override the order of FHC Abuja.

I have to admit that Ikpeazu is on a very thin rope

Thank you my brother. You have said it all. Ikpeazu's lawyers were not sharp or smart enough.

In the eyes of the law, the order from the Abia state High court is a kangaro otder and cant over ride that of the Federal High court Abuja.

On a second thought, Ikpeazu lawyers would have approached the Federal High court Owerri, Imo state or FHC Port Harcourt to secure shsrply a stay of execution.

For the fact that his Appeal does not contain a stay of execution, i join you to say that Ikpeazu is hanging on a thin rope.

I bet you that by monday inspite of the public holiday he declared in the state, he will be forced to vacate office.

Thete are much plans to withdraw all his security details then file a suit of forgery against him. His case will go for accelerated hearing and he will be convicted thereby rendering his Appeal useless.
