Hello everyone greetings. I got a mail that my passport is ready for collection and I initially paid for one way service. Now the email said they don't allow in person collection. And their courier buy service is very expensive which is 31,160. So please, how else can I get the passport? Must I use their own courier service?

Please good people of Nairaland
I have a case at hand and I need help and your inputs

A friend(lady) is about to apply for admission and her marital status is kinda complicated

She was married with a kid but they got separated more than a year now but not legally divorced
She told me the divorce will take more than a year before it can be finalized.

So she seeing a new guy now and both of them are planning to Japa through study route
She intend to apply for(SP), (VV) for her daughter and SOWP for her new guy even though they are yet to be married because of her divorce is in progress

So in her admission application what will be her martial Status?

Because I believe whatever the information she provided now in the admission application is what she will maintain even with Visa application

Please I need your advice, suggestions and your thoughts on this kind of situation. Thank you

dey play! Always for a friend.

Good Afternoon
I want to ask, my uncle is my sponsor for my tuition and living expenses. Do i need to provide a form of identity of my uncle or there's no need since we bear the same surname?
Thanks
my elder brother was my sponsor, I attached his international bio date page and his birth certificate to show surname with me. Very important

Just be positive, I think the rate at the day you submitted is what will be used.. I applied before the rate when up too... your POF is still high nau with the new rate 46kcad.. the minimum required amount is 10kcad for living expenses and 1year tuition.. be positive.. my pof went from 37kcad to 25kcad as the rate change.. A frnd of mine that applied before the rate went up got his PPR few days back. He applied middle ot may and got his PPR 5days ago.. so be positive.. it will come out well.
well said... I see you bro. Wishing us well in our application.

They will use the new rate, last time i checked 1cad is 512niara.
using new rate as a basis for denial is highly unjustifiable. When I submitted, rate was 345, now 536. Is difference not significant. Is currency suppose to increase in that manner? My POF of 81k cad has turned 46k cad. Mtcheeww....

Thanks Zubi,
I actually met an agent with a track record (before I submitted my application), who told me she'll get me a sponsor. I really don't know how she'll do all the documentations but I have proofs and evidences of her track record. I decided to handle the application myself when I saw someone I know who did his own himself.

Right now, I'm thinking of meeting her to handle the reapplication. Hopefully, God can use her to be successful.

what if the persons salary is low? Like say 150k. And has less than 400k in account?

You need to explain your lump sum deposits very well and state why the funds are coming as lump sum. Once you have been able to explain this, you are good to go.

How do I inform them by webform and know the actual office they are processing my application

I'm not sure but often time I think most application goes to the nearest embassy from your home country (for those whose country doesn't have Canadian embassy). In the case of Nigeria, the nearest is Nairobi

Are you saying they don't look at documents submitted via webform when your application is still under consideration? If yes, then I think your giving a misleading information. I know lots of people that submitted documents via webform and got acknowledgement for those documents.
AskGod07:
Well other documents uploaded through webform after application submitted didn’t count only if you are ask to upload a particular document.

Be positive and pray let hope for the best.

Property deed don’t determine visa outcome because have seen many people without property gotten visa .

Good Evening All,

I have been following this thread for a couple of months now.

We got served breakfast for my son's application for the following:

I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as required by paragraph R216(1)(b) of the IRPR (https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/sor-2002-227/section-216.html). I am refusing your application because you have not established that you will leave Canada, based on the following factors:
• Your assets and financial situation are insufficient to support the stated purpose of travel for yourself (and any accompanying family member(s), if applicable).
• Pursuant to paragraph 220(b) of the IRPA, I am not satisfied that you have sufficient and available financial resources, without working in Canada, to maintain yourself and any family members who are accompanying you during your proposed period of study.

Main Details:
Minor 16+ years
Total POF N21.3m (about CAD62k at the time).
Total Cost: Annual Tuition of CAD17.2k, Living CAD11.5k, Others CAD3k and Flight 3k
4 years course duration

Timeline:
submitted on May 15, 2023 with upfront medical done and passed and refusal came yesterday June 17, 2023.

Main concern: School didn't require tuition deposit and none was paid. A lumpsum of N7.8m entered days before submission but sponsor account has in and outs of that range. letter of bonus payments was provided

Have submitted request for CBSA Gcms note today but timeline is really tight as admission is for Fall 2023.
sorry about the denial. I just feel that sometimes there are more to this denials than we actually can tell. Fine, the money is sufficient enough to cover for intended purpose of visit but they may have to look at other factors which we may not see. Factors like, does the person's sponsor has other responsibilities. E.g maybe other children that he has to cater for?that is just one example. Who is sponsoring and what the person does is very vital. Also they may have to look at how regular money enters the account and sum it up for the last 4-6 months to know the range of cash that enters. All the best in your reapplication. Also, assets are very important. Sponsor has to show not only cash at bank, but also assets of value (material) It will end in praise!

Pls, I will appreciate comments from people that know about the college and the town about cost of rent, availability of accomodation, Schooling for children, commuting in the town and job prospects around the place.

Thank you
honestly not everything you should rely on someone to do for you. You can actually do this yourself. Your phone doesn't have google? Please, I don't mean any harm, but kindly use your phone on this particular matter. All the best.

the amount of deposit you pay don't matter. There are people who paid the complete semester fee and others amount up to 10k cad and still got denied. Yet, there are others that didn't pay a dime and still got visa. So it's completely about how you package your application that matters.

You did the right thing. VO's sometimes intentionally do these things probably because they think the person will give up and not challenge their decision.
If they deny you again based on ties, go to judicial review, they will likely settle even before the case goes for hearing cos they know they will loose. There are enough legal rulings on that.
I have only 1 sibling still in Nigeria and I want to sponsor to school in the next few months. Since all of us in Canada are citizens except 1 who is still a PR, I know ties will be a problem in her application. So I have spent time researching on JR cases that are decided on ties cos I Know IRCC will likely not issue that visa without a fight. We will be ready for them.
I feel you. Is the audacity for me?

Hi everyone I am new to this post but came across while researching.

I received a visa denial from IRCC yesterday morning. Application was submitted May 28th and biometrics was given 8th of June and rejection received 13th of June.

The reasons cited were
i) significant family ties in canada (my sister and her husband and kids are permanent residents in canada for 2 years. However the rest of my family is here in Nigeria. I submitted her bank statements and reference letter from work as I will be staying with her. She owns her own home and has a very good income. I will also be going without my husband and 14 months old son which I believe are ties to Nigeria. Including my brothers and parents (my mum has a Canadian TRV)

ii) your assets and financial situation are insufficient to support the stated purpose of travel. (This i couldn’t understand as my bank statement submitted has a closing balance of a little 29 million Naira with school fees for the first session fully paid. My course is a one year course in digital health as I am an healthcare worker. I also submitted by husbands bank statements and reference letters from work for both of us.

I used an IRCC registered agent who is also quite upset at the visa application result and is advising we request a judicial review. I will really appreciate your advice as I am quite confused. I have ordered my GCMS notes as of this morning. But would really appreciate any insights of anyone has experience this and how they overturned it. Thank you.
sorry about the denial. But often time, one thing I notice is that, you have enough money in the account doesn't mean you'll be given visa. How did the money come in? Did you submit proof of business ownership or employment? What are the inflows and outflows of the account? What is the net balance of the account for the past 4-6 months that you submitted. For example, in the past 4 months, you have debit 2m, credit 16m net = 14 credit and closing balance let's say 28m. Now scenario 2, debit 5m, credit 4m net -(1m) closing balance 30m. Can you see the difference. So, most times it's not what is in the account that matters but how much expenses have you incurred during the account period in question.

Refire, and I wish you the best. Sometimes too, these VOs dey dey on colos. Lol. God abeg o

Hello Good People,

Please I'm about to start the process. I have a cousin who's a Canadian Citizen. Our mothers are siblings but she grew up in my parents house so she is more or less my mother's daughter. Can I indicated her as a sibling when applying? She has no issue with this and is willing to support.
do you guys have the same surname? Can you prove the relationship, maybe through birth certificate, pictures of the whole family including her, etc. I think you can check the official websites to see more info on how to prove this! Meanwhile seniors are still here to add to this

I just passed my IELTS on first attempt with a LRWS-8,9,7.5,7 respectively, and a CRS of 475.
Please I need an advise on the best province to practice my profession and other advises.

Thanks a lot my people
some questions can be answered by a mere research. You could simply google best province in Canada to bla bla bla.. Then help yourself out.... However, am sure a lot of people here, my elders, will be willing to answer questions that's involves the Pre and post ITA time which might appear difficult for people to easily get answers to... So make google your friend regarding questions like this

5th of October, 2020- Received a call from IRCC asking whether we can travel before 31st of March, 2021. I said yes, but subject to the travel restrictions and the lady said sure.

8th of October, 2020- Mail from VFS stating that the decision envelope has been couried via courier partner (DHL). Profile was updated same day with counterfoil generated. (Passport spent 10 days in Accra)

I am still in awe and grateful to God for the journey.
