wellmax: Have you asked yourself why we couldn't compete? ItsIts because we didn't developed. His would you develop when you are not even producing cos of stiff competition. Truth is nothing comes easy. So you think we will keep local rice in one warehouse and they say oya stop importation, we have rice now. No it doesn't work that way. We must pay the price for our tatse for imported goods. Pay high or go for local, as demands increase for local production will increase. Many more people will go into the production and development. With time we can even compere with imported rice. It makes no sense to buy local rice @ 10kper bag. Let me help u out, from experience. I have a local factory here, but do u know after production, the same imported goods will be cheaper Do u know that? Why bec the conditions here isn't favourable for production. Do u know how much it cost a factory per month to buy diesel Do you know what we go through to import raw materials we produce with Do u know how much govt collects from manufacturers in nigeria? If thing should go the right way,do you know local rice will not exceed 3'k But now we buy it above 9k,is that right These re the reasons we can't compete. Is it individuals that will develop the country while the govt does nothing, sits down nd keeps banning things they can't produce.... Don't console yourself in suffering because nigeria has too many fertile lands..... If govt can be responsible enough only in agriculture sector just for six months, then half of our problems re solved nd there will be no need to say nothing good comes easy. |
Politics › Re: $3 Billion Nigeria Bound Rice Stuck In Benin Republic by frank202012: 12:16pm On Oct 15, 2016 |
wellmax: We all can't be farmers. As of 2008, less than 2 percent of the population of usa is directly employed in agriculture and they grow enough for even exports. I tell you there are several farmers in Nigeria silently praying for a total ban. The problem has always been that we can't compete with foreign imports. But if we do away with them, we will have the opportunity to develop. U don't clean ur yansh before u begin shit... So bec of few farmers, they sacrificed the whole country? Am not against developing agriculture, just that the govt should put down well layed down measures to aid local rice production. Like u said we can't compete with foreign rice, When u can't compete with the imported ones in ur home country, where will you export to?? |

A Nigerian will gladly work in a farm thats pays 60k a month. .. In the uk and Europe.. the least farm workerd earn is 6 euros .per hour that's over 2k per hour and over 16k per day.. And they still produce far cheaper goods than us.. .... Bro really we have a problem How many rice farms do you have?? How many farms has naija govt set up?? What re the measures put in place to aid rice production in nigeria?? Don't sit at home and type nonsense mr man!!! |
